Knitwit at the Shores, a Maine Knitting Retreat Recap - Yarn Journeys Episode 30

In this episode of Yarn Journeys, I head up to Maine for a fabulous knitting retreat put on by the @knitwityarnshop at the very beautiful ‪@SearsportShores‬ Ocean Campground. I got to take classes with wonderful knitting instructors, Bristol Ivy (@bristolivy), Casapinka (@casapinka9715), and Alicia Plummer. As always, I update you on the status of my current projects.

I’ve never been to a knitting retreat but the one you went to looked like a lot of fun. Congratulations Melanie on completing the first stage of the Master Handknitting program- sounds like a lot of work!

Great video! Maine is beautiful, what a lovely place for a retreat. I want to see Tom Cruise' sweater. Congratulations on completing your level 1! Well done! Your mint green top is gorgeous. I don't know about the linen being scratchy. I have used linen and linen blend yarns many times and have never found anything like what you are showing. Mine are all soft, and get softer as they age. That cardigan you are knitting is going to be amazing, I love that Studio Donegal yarn. I hope it works out. 🙂

I want to see Tom’s sweater, too!! I am so glad you enjoyed the video, Carin. And thanks for telling me about your experience with linen blend yarns. I thought at first maybe the bits was VM in the yarn, but when I tried to pick it out as I knit, the structure of the yarn got disturbed.
