Great sound and feel bro. Love it. Many years ago I also owned Hofner contemporary series, put on La bella flats desined specially for Beatle basses. They are great. And also Ampeg cabs do a good job with this basses.
@@basilyeo yes, played them couple of years on fretless bass and fretless acoustic. But they sound too much dull for my taste. Usual flats without tape wound do their job much better! Best regards!
@@basilyeoVox T15 or T25 from the 2000’s is the best headphone output recording I’ve ever had from a bass amp. What did you do to record your sound? Still on roundwounds in this video?
@@CarMaxMelbourne Yeah I'm still on roundwounds. Not that easy to find good flatwounds that fit the Hofner in my country. Line6 UX1 raw output into GarageBand with the 60's bass amp
That was great playing! You really sounded good. Does that bass have much "neck dive" (does the headstock want to sink down towards the floor) when you play standing up like that?
Thanks for the comment!!! It does so I always make sure to have my left hand on the neck or hand on the bottom with my right to keep it from going down.
I have the same model! I have the leather strap pretty much what McCartney had plus my lead goes through the strap then plugs in and that seems to stop nose dive!
@@basilyeo cheers! have you thought about switching them out for some flatwounds? i'm considering getting an ignition, and wanted to know the opinion of someone who owns one - are flatwounds better?
@@calebcustombricks2631 I have thought of it! Actually I bought a set of the black tapewound Rotosounds that came with the Ignition but 1) I realised I might have to do a bit of work before they could fit (not willing to take the risk), 2) I wanted to see how the stock strings worked first. Flatwounds that can fit the Hofner are not easy to come by and I'm pretty sure I'm still on the waiting list of a set of Labellas So far so good, loving the quality of the Ignition but I'm pretty sure flatwounds would sound amazing!
@@calebcustombricks2631 sorry the late reply! Make sure you get one with your preferred control knobs, so check the listing and check with the store properly! Some of them have the white/gold teacup knobs, some have the black knobs. I got exactly what I was looking for so I’m quite happy. I got mine from musicstore.com all the way from Germany. Took about 40 days to arrive in Singapore.
The german Hofner bass, the bass that allowed the genius Paul MacCartney to develop all his splendor.
I LOVE my Hofner Bass guitar!!! AA
Very,very, good...... here Brazil!!
Just beautiful.
As a beginner it’s encouraging to watch you. Nice and slow so I can follow. Thanks for posting.
Well done Basil
i love this bass
Wow, awesome playing Basil! I’m impressed!👏👏👏
Thank you for your kind words!
Felicitations!!!!

magnificent ;)
Thank you!
NIce tone! where did you get that knobs?
Thanks dude. They came with the bass. After a bit of research I believe this may be the Ignition SE versions.
Love the sound, compressor?
Thanks! Just the standard compressor on Podfarm!
bro whats the difference between the ignition vs the special ignition? (Se) ?
the SE version comes with a Bassman sticker, teacup knobs and a certificate (not really sure what's the deal with the certificate)
Can you do a tutorial on how to play it?
Hey sorry, can you tell me the name of your bass strap? Thank you :)
Hi! It's the brown version of this one: davisguitar.com/product/levys-leather-guitar-strap-m1-blk/
What strings do you use?
Hi Caleb, these are the stock roundwounds that came with the Hofner Ignition!

How did you achieve that muffled thump sound?
neck pickup, treble and mids on middle, bass on 6.5-7, compression and most importantly, palm mute!
How do u do to avoid copyright?😮 great job!
I used a backing track from JamKazam
goot
I bought the same bass.
It's an amazing instrument
