Lol Jinjer is ukrainian proggy djent groove metal with complex time-signature maze, polyrhythms and multi-genre blending. They are one of the most talented 4-pieces ever. Tati is one of the best overall metal vocalists and lyricists in the business.

Listen to "Pit of Conciousness" live in Kiev or Cloud Factory, or any of their new album ... Vortex, Mediator, Call me a Symbol... they're great live ... so always prefer live versions than studio ones.
I have been a Jinjer fan for 6 years now. I have never followed any band for that long before. My favorite thing is that there is so much variaty in their songs, you never know what to expect

Certainly not a typical Metal band, a whole of Jazzy backing in the bass and percussion. They are amazing live having seen them in Oregon. They headlined a back to back, sold out, show in Portland.

The genre is just called Jinjer. They are from Ukraine, and each member is an exceptional musician. They are from the region that was invaded by Russia in 2014. They fled the region and spent most of the last decade on the road touring mostly in obscurity until their Pisces video went viral.

I guess Vlad's drum tuning can be a bit of an acquired taste. It's not the normal boomy, resonant, reverb laden, often gated sound of typical metal drums. He goes for the punch, not necessarily the boom. His snare drums especially are tuned way up. Personally I love it. It gives the whole band a unique distinctive sound, and meshes perfectly with Eugene's nasty distorted bass tone.
You might try reacting to Jinjer - Pisces Live Session. There's a reason it's the first one many reactions folks take on. Perennial Live at Wacken is great, as is Pit Of Consciousness Live in Kiev. The whole band are top tier musicians, and there's lots of variety to keep you guessing. I'm here for it!

yeah, they missed a lot of things, wrong drummer , two of the members are from 2009, Vlad is newer. I mean it's their first reaction so you don't always know.

The more intricate a band’s arrangements are the tighter the snare will be. Especially if they employ blast beats which sound like a sloppy mess with a typical metal snare tone.
I love Vlads snare, it makes them stand out.
You probably should’ve started with Pisces as that’s usually the jumping off point for people to be introduced to this vocal goddess!

With the ongoing horrific war in Ukraine you could have at least mentioned it to raise awareness. The band are from the Donbass region of Ukraine. They were having a barbeque when 2 Russian fighter jets made a low pass over them. They jumped in their van and fled to Kyiv.
Well you can't be that much metal if it took you 4 years to get to it. i guess(and i am guessing) that you spent all that time listening to nightwish.
You may be unaccustomed to the drummer's style he has a jazz background. Tin can? you really failed here. The guitarist is a phenomenal player and I don't think you mentioned him once. I rate your review as a 4.
Vlad sent out to put more filler in his drumming than your woman's face.
