- Heart failure is a relatively common condition in our community that frequently results in repeat hospital presentations. Symptoms often arise from the build up of excess fluid within the body. In the video, Professor Barlis explains the importance of daily weighing for individuals with heart failure. He emphasizes that weight gain can be a sign of fluid buildup, which can lead to hospitalization if not managed properly. By weighing oneself each day, you can catch any sudden changes in weight and adjust tmedication and lifestyle accordingly. Overall, daily weighing is a simple but effective tool for managing heart failure and improving outcomes. Always check with your health care professional for advice relevant to your condition.
Great advice. As far as I know I never had heart failure but I still weigh myself every day, especially because I’m dieting to get to my goal weight. I just had a heart stent installed and it gave me a wake up call. From what I understand excess weight places an extra strain on the heart, so I want to at least get rid of this factor for heart health.
Thanks so much for the content!
For me it’s all about my sodium intake - if I go out to eat my weight will almost certainly increase 3-5 lbs by the next morning and will take 2-3 days to get back to normal. My cardio suggests limiting my sodium intake to 1500mg a day/ 500 per meal which greatly helps keeping my weight consistent which in turn keeps me feeling better which allows me to keep exercising. For sure the foundation of dealing with heart failure is meds, diet, exercise
Thank you for the video.

I know he is close to the end but I don’t know what else to do. Does the right only fail once the left has failed? I’m also in Canada so it takes months to years for specialist and testing, so no
