A Different Light. I Never Knew Love. Warning Labels. A Jukebox With a Country Song. 14 Minutes Old. Little Houses. Why Didn't I Think Of That. And more. Tremendous artist.
My favorite Doug Stone song is "A Jukebox with a Country Song" ,. He does have a lot of good music in his catalog and is an artist worthy of getting to know better.
This is my choice for best country song of the 90s. He Stopped Loving Her today was the best of the 80s. Behind Closed Doors takes the crown for the 70s.
Doug has a number of good songs. For instance, you would love Little Houses. Complete turn around. Doug is from Georgia. His last name is actually not Stone but Brooks. Butat the time he arrived on the country music scene, Garth was already getting established and he decided to use a stage name.
I had the fortunate pleasure of playing with Doug in the Charlie Daniel’s Golf Tournament. He could not have been nicer. With that said , he had a great run and I would highly recommend In a Different Light, Why Didn’t I Think of That, A Jukebox With a Country Song, Come in Out of the Pain and Make Up in Love. He also had a pretty nice Song called POW 369. Song about an impatient driver who gets cut of by an older gentleman and starts to road rage until he sees the License Plate POW 369 and reality hits him. You can’t go wrong with Doug. Another little side note, he was born Doug Brooks and changed to Stone to avoid any name issues.
Love this song, it takes me back to the great country hits of the 90's during the glory days of CMT.

This song brings back so many memories, there’s a small town in Tennessee that I still can’t bring myself to visit anymore because of a woman
