@@asktheconcretecountessGood question. Some bugs are attracted to specific things - like, I know roaches *love* any kind of adhesive (so avoid using contact paper on your shelves if your home is susceptible to those stinkers). I know they make a powder to sprinkle into exterior paint to make it bug repellent, so that might be a good idea in bug-prone areas.
I think this is brilliant 😊 I read some of the comments and the flow of creative minds just exploded ! Thank you hometalk for generating these ideas ❤️now everyone go & be creatively inspired. ❤❤❤
This was so cute and something I want to do with my 7yr old. I'm saving this video for another day. Thank you for the inspiration, my daughter is going to love it!!!🤗
I like your recipe very much. I've never thought of adding glue to the mixture. Also, the way you created the petals was easy to follow. Thanks for making this tutorial.🙏
Thank you for sharing the paint recipe. I love your flower and I think I can paint one now. I have 2 sisters that paint all kinds of things Not me but I do think i can at least paint this kind of abstract Flower that you created. Janice
Very clever, have not seen anyone using baking soda/glue, and only small amount of paint does the trick! What a savings on paint a d love the chunkyness! Nice job....
This Is SO NEAT!!! You Say Brown...BUT, I See GREEN (MY FAVORITE COLOR!!!). QUESTION:. CAN You Add Flax Seed To Your Brown Mixture To Stand Out More When Flower Tries? 🤔🙂 TYIA @Hometalk
You could, but adding any kind of food to artwork might attract cockroaches and other types of bugs into your home. Perhaps something non edible might be better, like sand ?
This project has value because it shows what to use to create 3D paintings. And it shows you dont need to be an artist to create beginner art that would look good in a childs room and patio.
It also proves that you don't need any special tools to accomplish beautiful art except an imagination! Yes, a piping bag would be fun and give different results. A spoon would give a less restic look. But what do you want it to look like when you finish? Your decision. I love hers but now my mind is racing which is the purpose, to get your juices flowing.
I paint boxes and bags to put out Christmas gifts in for family. I'm going to try it with a snowman and a tree scene. If it don't work out and can scratch it off. If it does work out I will have a cool extra gift on the boxes.
I really am disappointed in this new “trend” going on now to watch someone show you a cute idea they have only to be “trashed” by some people being very un-nice and critiquing what the person has shown us and telling us what THEY would do instead! These kind souls are just showing us an idea they had for decor, or a re-style, and we can take it or leave it. We could also think to ourselves how we might tweak it this way, or add that, and that’s fine, but you don’t need to tell everyone, do you? You can make your DIY channel and share your ideas there. You aren’t being asked to give your 2 cents or tell someone what you’d do. It’s pretty rude to go along & to each lovely idea & do this “hit job”. And it seems if one person does it, everyone else of this same mentality also decides they’ll do the same! Very nasty in my opinion. Take what you like from a project & do it the way you want. You do NOT need to add any helpful hints, unless they actually ARE helpful & not mean! Get your own YT channel if you want to be the boss, please.
Well said !!!! I love watching these shows and it's great ppl sharing ideas. These ppl who are mean and rude towards ppl making shows..... don't hate the ppl making shows because your jealous. Don't like the show then move on bc your opinion is really not worth me reading
Very well, said people share ignorance, not intelligence they share hate, not joy, and that's what I see happening how foolish to take something down because they didn't think of it or because they couldn't present it. I appreciate every artist out there I may not do the same type of work, but if it makes you happy, enjoy it.
Thank you so much Lisa, I really really enjoyed watching you create this amazing canvas. It is a great way to repurpose a canvas too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
This is brilliant I am going to use this at one of my children's craft sessions. I couldn't hear the sound though, but I still managed to fathom it out. Thank you for sharing
I'm so happy for that video I find, thanks a lot for that share with us. Great idea, I have looked for just like that to use my old pics . Greetings from Florida
Beautiful. so many ideas. I do landscapes. and this tip/trick of yours has triggerd my creative lightbulb in my head.. this will be great on my first idea. that came to me with 3D waves. again thank you. Namaste
I love this! I am looking for crafts for the kids at Thanksgiving so they can stay busy!! I am going to have green and white so they can make Christmas trees and decorate them with sequins and beads!!
You read my mind. Yesterday I wanted to do a project with textured paint but we live 1 1/2 hours from Hobby Lobby. This will work perfectly - and a whole lot cheaper. Thanks again, and I think this, and maybe a couple of others, would look fantastic above a bed. And they're so cheap to make, you could change them out with the seasons. I change my spreads and cheap drapes 4 or 5 times a year and - OH BOY, I'm on a roll, where's my baking soda?
At 78y/o I am just finding my creativity! This looks like a fun project to keep me 'true-to-myself'. I love crafts, quilting, crocheting, embroidery, and DIY projects but I've never stuck to a single one craft until now. Wish me luck! I like your vids and I will come back, thank you for posting.
I love how everyone generously shares their creative ideas and suggestions with each other here. Thank you all for encouraging each other to be creative and have fun. 😊
This mixture is FANTASTIC for beach scenes. You can really get the water and breakers on the sand to look awesome. Thanks for sharing the video!
Will this glue and baking soda attract bugs
@@asktheconcretecountessGood question. Some bugs are attracted to specific things - like, I know roaches *love* any kind of adhesive (so avoid using contact paper on your shelves if your home is susceptible to those stinkers).

I know this is kind of a new thing people are doing with baking soda but you can do the same thing with spackle and it takes paint quite well
Baking soda is probably cheaper.
@@treeseneese8655 I did not think about that if you are doing a big project like the beautiful picture that you did you're probably correct
@@erikseanwolff5341 But good suggestion on the spackle, that would definitely hold up longer I would assume.
Spackle does work great. Corn starch, or flour might be a comparable substitute as well.
Good tip👍🏾😊
Turned out absolutely beautiful something you would see in a boutique💕🌸🌸🌸
Español
Thank y ou it has given me some ideas. Waves on the ocean and sand - beach scene.
I had that same thought. This technique would be perfect for a beach scene.
hello beautiful friend thank you for sharing this type of cement made with so few ingredients have a wonderful day hugs from blessings🙏🌷💕🌺
Very cool! Yes I use spackle, putty, even grout on glass vases to give texture...it works great! Thank you for this video!
I’ve thought about grout but wasn’t sure if it needed to be the kind that was not sanded.
I mix all of those same items with paper machet
I love this. I would use a piping bag for the center and pipe little drops
That's a good idea!
That would be a great idea! If you don't have a Piping Bag, you could substitute a Zip Lock Bag!
Good idea!!!!!
I think this is brilliant 😊 I read some of the comments and the flow of creative minds just exploded ! Thank you hometalk for generating these ideas ❤️now everyone go & be creatively inspired. ❤❤❤

Arre any of the items toxic?
@@maureensamson4863 not in the first one but I guess it would depend on the type/brand of glue you use.

What are the ratios for the ingredients? She didn't say
This would be great way to make ocean waves 🌊 on an ocean paint pour to embellish the white waves 🌊
