Thanks for this video...!!! After watching many videos on changing out 2nd Gen Tacoma headlights .. yours is the only one that shows how to take out the bolt from hell without standing on your head...!!! when the weather breaks, I am planning on changing out my Tacoma Headlights...Your Tacoma looks great.. Are you able to change the halogen bulbs on these to LED to match the daytime running ones?
As far as I’m aware- yes. I haven’t changed mine to LED but they are easy to replace and just like any other halogen headlight. I hope this helps!🤘

Upgraded to this exact set on my 2015. They work great, except I no longer get drl's when set to drl on the stalk. Only when set to parking lights or full headlight mode. I also don't get side markers in any position. 😕

Figured it out. You only get the stock type DRL lights(in the inner corners) on "DRL" on the stalk. You have to turn it to "parking lights" or full headlights on, on the stalk, to get the led light bars to work. Also, if you pull the plug where your side marker lights should be, there is a blue plug with green & black wires, which goes to/powers the LED light bar(I called Spyder tech support) instead of the amber bulb. So, no more side marker lights - weird way to wire it up. I may rewire my LED light bar to the DRL light wires and plug my amber bulbs back in to the side marker lights. That way the LED bar will work on DRL and all other modes and I get the side markers back - in theory, lol. Of course this voids the warranty but I no longer have one since mine were ($80) used off FBMP.
@@Fredline57 thank you for sharing that info about the side markers that’s good to know and yes and interesting way to wire it! I also had to figure out after installing these bad boys that the handle had to be set to ‘parking light’ to get the light bar to be on and not DRL. Still very sweet headlights! I appreciate your info and support!💪
If the a led burns out on these do you have to replace the whole assembly or are the bulbs replaceable.? Good work my friend

@@jessefiscal8274 they should be linked in the description. Do you own a 2012-2015 2nd gen? The only rewiring someone on here also commented was connecting wires for the side marker (which I didn’t worry about as it’s not required). As far as I’m aware the headlights provided are plug and play😁👍 let me know if there’s any other way I can help!

Hiii me and my pops are struggling on what is the best brand of headlights to get for my 2010 Toyota Tacoma trd please any recommendations would be greattt
I’ve heard AlphaRex is a great brand but taking a look they are pricey. SpyderAuto is the brand I bought mine from, they are very nice! And you could also check out Raxiom I’ve also looked at some of their headlights and thought they looked great for the price.

is there a way to not have to use the h7 bulb it comes with and put an adapter for your own HIDs or LED kit instead???
From what I can tell, you can as long as it fits the 3-prong harness from the truck. I’ve messed with it and as long as the new bulb fits the hole on the inside of the headlight you should be okay. As always I’m no expert that’s what my experience has led me to. Use your best judgment and don’t forget to enjoy the process!😁💪 let me know if there’s anything else I can help with these!
Are these plug and play or do I need to get anything additional bed the headlights?

The white drl light strip around the outer edge did that require any tapping or is this a truly plug and play?
With these headlights it was just plug and play!💪
How was the light output of these headlights?
@@TheTinhMan being completely honest I’d say the output is better than factory 2014 headlights BUT only by 30% or so. I give them a 7/10 review when it comes to output, it could be better for sure.

did you have to adjust the lights at all? I have the same lights but they are shooting to different heights.
Yes! I forgot to mention it in the video, however it’s pretty simple once you locate the adjustment screws for height and width. As long as you have a wall or something you can park 25 feet or so away from and shine the lights at; that allows you to see where the lights are shining and using the screws you can then adjust to your liking. I’d also have to mention you’ll need to be as level as possible too. Hope this helps some!

From tacomabeast’s website, however I’m not sure if they sell it there any more, KOK Auto Parts has one very similar😁👍

How’s the output on these headlights?
Very glad you asked! Being completely honest they’re a 7 out of 10 when it comes to output. I’ve been very pleased with them but they could be better
