Thank you
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!😁
First oil time on this one. Good video, thanks! Is there a mileage calculator to reset?
Yeah no problem! There is a “maint req” light that shows up on my 2014 Tacoma after so many miles. Here’s a read on TacomaWorld- www.tacomaworld.com/threads/reset-maintenance-light.501044/
@@OutdoorTaco you are awesome, thanks for the link.
Dope truck man, looks like mine lol
Heck yeah! Thank you!
3:42 Do you actually start the engine or just switch the key to ON position? And if you indeed start the engine, do you let the tires spin while cycling between P & N, or it's ok to just step on the brake? Thanks! 👍
My 02’ Tacoma, the transmission fluid dipstick is in the ‘cold’ range after a short drive, am I able to top-up the fluid by adding some via the dipstick tube?
I’m no expert so use this at your own discretion; as far as I’m aware- yes you can. Just be mindful not to OVERFILL. Check out this read on TacomaWorld: www.tacomaworld.com/threads/proper-method-for-checking-the-transmission-fluid-level.465949/ You’ll have to scroll through but there’s some helpful info there closer to your year of Tacoma. Hope this was helpful!😁
@@OutdoorTaco this website is very informative thank you! And for responding so quickly
Yup no problem! Thank you for your support!🙏
The other thing is that if you fill up your overflow reservoir, the radiator will suck any extra juice it needs out of there as it cools down. I only ran it for 15min with the rad cap off and only got in half a liter or so. Then after it cooled off, i had to top off the overflow by another half liter.
Thanks for the video. Very useful. I first drained just the radiator and i only got ~3.5 liters out so i dont think you can skip the engine drain plug steps. When i drained those, i got another 3.5 liters out. I did want to mention that i found it pretty easy to open the engine drains by reaching in from the engine compartment with a ratchet and about a 6" extension. You can feel the drain and nut so that lets u put the socket on there pretty easy and then its only half a turn.
Thank you for your input! I’m glad I could help!😁
Are you able to change the halogen bulbs on these to LED to match the daytime running ones?
As far as I’m aware- yes. I haven’t changed mine to LED but they are easy to replace and just like any other halogen headlight. I hope this helps!🤘
How many litres to finish flushing all
Just the one did the trick for me I still had some left over as well😁👍
Changed mines found all 6 plugs has oil on thread. Changed plugs many many time before and first time i seen oil on thread. Kinda scares me. Did yours have oil on thread?
Nope no oil😬 could be a slew of issues, I’m no expert though so best advice is to do your research and talk to the pros!💪🤘
Thanks for the helpful vid ✌️
Happy to help! Thank you for tuning in!
I Like and Subs for yah already!!! I had the same truck.....Why not clean with brake cleaner after grease.....much cleaner and when run high speed grease NOT go everywhere! ( My 2 cents)
Thank you, I appreciate the support! And thank you for adding this, I agree in hindsight I could’ve mentioned clean-up👌💪
Thank you!
No problem, glad I could help!
@@OutdoorTaco I have a 2014 TRD sport and the owners manual is saying it should take 12 quarts of transmission fluid… seems like a lot. Any ideas?
That may be when doing a completed flush, the purpose of this video is to give the transmission a good ‘refresh’ of fluid without the hassle of flushing, etc.
@@OutdoorTaco thank you! I’m learning…. 😆
Same here no worries!😁
Great video-clear, thorough easy to follow.
Thank you!🙏 glad I could help!
LOVE it!
Thank you!🙏
Just bought an 06 ftom a dealer who SWORE up & down the vehicle was flawless, even when I soecifically asked about the undercarriage. Had it delivered & turns out the rear differential is heavily leaking & has JB Weld all over the bottom of it. Dealer refuses to do anything about it. Seems incredibly deceitful to me... Im probably stuck w a repair thats going to cost thousands now... After I paid over Book value based on the dealers word.
Oh man I’m sorry that happened😬 let me know how it goes! I do have a video on replacing the diff fluid for both diffs and transfer case in case you need to check that out👍
@@OutdoorTaco Thanks, I appreciate that! I may indeed need to top the fluid off when I try to transport it to wherever it's going to go for repairs. Not sure if trying to weld the case is a good idea or not, or if I should just replace the whole thing...
So I tried the eye hooks in the Amazon link provided but they are to small they won’t thread into the T slot’s 😳
Good to know! Thank you for telling me!🙏🙏 it should be fixed!
Did you finish two gallons of the coolant to do this procedure?
Pretty close I was left with barely any in the 2nd one. As mentioned in the video, let me know how your project goes!💪
My 2011 used it all
How bout for a manual?
Wish I could speak on experience with a manual but mine is automatic. Which, is the purpose of this video. Check out this read www.tacomaworld.com/threads/engaging-4x4-on-a-2nd-gen-manual-transmission.795480/
@@OutdoorTaco thanks for your help, much appreciated!
I love it! How fast and easy it is to set up and chill. I need 1... or 2.
What do you guys think? Do you take a hammock with you on your outdoor adventures?
I just installed them pretty easy to do they were plug and play. (2014 Tacoma double cab) Hardest part was playing around with the plastic flap covers to get them moved to the side for me to access the fog light assembly lol A few things to remember if you install these is to make sure to tighten the screws at the front of your new iJDM Toy Fog assembly (I noticed some were loose) and although they are plug and play you need to plug them in the right way. If they do not work when you turn them on flip the connections. I thought mine was sent broken until I decided to flip the connectors the other way around and re-plugged it in and it worked. Also use electrical tape on the connectors so it doesn't spring loose on you or rain and mud gets in. I noticed it doesn't clip together very well easy to take apart. Also you do not need to remove the bumper part if you lay flat underneath the vehicle and just remove the plastic flap, turning the tire is a very good idea as it will allow you to have more room to access the entire area. These new iJDM fog lights are very bright and I really like how it looks! Now we wait and see if rain and snow causes any issues with these new fog lights.
Thanks for adding your input! For as long as I’ve been using them, rain, snow, rocks, etc. haven’t caused any issues. Honestly this is one of the best things I’ve added to my truck👍
Thanks, getting ready to tackle left front coming off after vacation trip..
Sweet! Hope all goes well!🤘
I love the tacoma. It has such a stiff feel! The f150, the ram drive like a big, cushy boat..
I agree, it handles really well in any situation off-road or on the streets😁🤘
Hay I have a pretty cool truck bild going if you want to make a video with me
Heck yeah! Text me man!
Is the truck supposed to be leveled to get the accurate reading on oil? My truck looks kinda leaning backwards so im just wondering. I have a 3" FRONT AND 2" rear lift
Yeah as level as you can, I had mine in my bumpy driveway and was still able to get this taken care of properly👌use your best judgment!😁💪
Great clear video. I read a lot of Tacoma posts and still didn’t understand the procedure until I saw this video. Thx!
Awesome, that’s good to hear! Thank you for the feedback and praise!🙏
🤙
Great video! Moab is a magical place!
Thank you! That means a lot! I agree it blows my mind how amazing every piece of land is out there
The far away drone shot of the truck at 6:21 is sweet man! Looks like it’s got some good range, nice video!
Thank you! I really appreciate that! Funny story about that, I get out there and come to find my drone motor isn’t functioning properly but I sent it anyway😂 I had to get those cool shots!!😂
Why don't you clean a little bit with brake cleaner on the ZERKS before pump fresh grease??? too dirty and dirt with get into inside!!!!! ???
Sound for you too easy!!! For me is Confusing!!!!!
Are the main head light bulbs replaceable ? I like these but I see they light is more of a yellow color
Yes they are replaceable💪
Are these plug and play or do I need to get anything additional bed the headlights?
All plug and play👍
At your deepest point in, how far were you away from a gas station? Our FJ is a bit rough on fuel.
We were about 40-50 miles from a gas station😁
Beautiful country! You captured it well!
Thank you!
Good video man, thanks. Just did mine solo, but several years past due. While bleeding one of the lines, I accidently pumped the reservoir dry. But just filled it back up and pumped it 15 times or so until the air bubbles stopped. Good to go, thanks.
Sweet! Thank you for the feedback I’m glad it all worked out!💪
Another great video.
Thank you! Glad I could help out!
Ugh, I can’t get the drain plug loose to get it to drain. So frustrating! I’ve given up at this point.
The engine block drain plugs? I agree those are the hardest part of this job, I think for the most part as long as you’re drained the radiator and the reservoir and recycled new coolant through the system you’ve refreshed the majority of the coolant and helped maintain the life of your engine!💪
Nice video!
Thank you!🙏
hey great video thank u
Thank you! That means a lot🙏
Love that Posty song 😎🤘🏾
It’s a good one, btw hats are in production so are decal stickers🤘
@@OutdoorTaco decals hell Yea 😎👍🏽
