It's like Poof is learning the ropes of being a fairy godparent after graduating Fairy Academy and Hazel is his first god child. That way Cosmo and Wanda can retire and Timmy Turner has his life as a successful adult with a wife and kids.

Its not that simple tho. Companies are coming out with new ideas. But investors would rather bank on popular IPs that were profitable in the past instead new ideas that could potentially fail. If you dont have the investors, the show isnt happening.
Hence why most of these reboots suck because they dont have the magic the originals had. Last Nickelodeon reboot I remember doing good was Ninja Turtles lol

They are really trying to make villains look like the good guys or misunderstood to excuse their bad behavior, teaching kids they don’t have to take responsibility for their own actions and behavior because the crime they commit isn’t their fault, it’s their cause or their tragic backstory that justifies/excuses it.
Start building a dvd/book library and buy the dvds. Ditch streaming.

The show should have ended at the Wishology trilogy. It felt grand and epic, and literally everything after that has been insufferable.
Indie projects are continuing to blow Hollywood and AAA games out of the water and I’m all for it. Murder Drones, Amazing Digital Circus, Monkey Wrench, Lackadaisy, Pizza Tower, Signalis, Balatro, Penny’s Big Breakaway, etc. All of these put the big leagues to shame.
The only ones who know what they are doing in the gaming space is Nintendo. Thats about it.
@@mrconroy4672 Nintendo isn’t perfect though. They have a decent chunk of games that come out underbaked at launch and get the rest of the content with free updates or paid DLC a few months after launch (Nintendo Switch Sports).

I'm actually no opposed to the idea. The Fairly Oddparents, as a concept, looks as though it can be rich and ripe for future generations- something like a Scooby Doo/TMNT scenario where it's always reshaping and reforming and thus keep things fresh. My only gripe is they decide to reuse Cosmo and Wanda, this would've been perfect to introduce a brand new set of Fairy Godparents.

Why is the thing you're complaining about the race and gender of the character instead of the fact that Fairy Odd Parents is getting its 3rd spin off when the last one barely ended 2 years ago? Plenty of things to complain about, but this isn't one of them.

It’s a trend being terribly consistently done in TV & movies doing ever so little to properly structure actual characters and stories especially in popular properties from years past , and adding absolutely fuck all to new characters and stories, despite the fact that you tried to pull this trick out their asses every time. It’s a terrible entertainment killer, but frankly I’m already heavily detached from this side of media, so just throwing a quick, fuck you nothing more nothing less really , for contacts other shows, other shows have already failed doing similar kinds of reboot stories, and what not without race, having to be a factor without gender, having to be a factor, ultimately surrounded upon the writing clichés of the staff frankly is disappointing like somebody took the massive piss out of actual thoughtful story writing but again just a quick, fuck you nothing serious if anything is more entertaining to watch people like Wes deal with this mess, since at the very least, this terrible behavior is being recognized, apologies for making it sound like a rant, but I like to be to the point , watch anime & read manga instead since that actually still has entertainment value 😈

Stuff like this makes me appreciate that Jimmy Neutron is being left alone and that Danny Phantom only got the *A Glitch in Time* official comic (Highly recommed it as it not only fixes a lot of plot holes Hartman retroactively put into the series, but also wraps up a lot of loose ends from the actual show. The highest praise I can give it is that it feels like the season 4 and series finale we never got)

Whatever the reason may be, whatever the motivation, nobody watching this trend of changing character skin colour in fiction will state that it isn't motivated by some thought process that does indeed place emphasis on race and colour.
The saddest thing is the fact they aren't willing to even try and create new series with a diveristy of skin colour, instead they have to leech off the success of earlier shows, uncreative disappointments.
Additionally, even forgoing the race switches, the shows are just never fun to watch, rarely if ever. This is why I've found myself going to old series and movies to entertain myself or checking out indie scene based comics / live media to entertain myself.
If you want originality in execution, great art and design, the indie scene is where it is at.

@@kyngsolomon I assume that because they are correlated quite often, it is easier to assume that if you have to race/gender swap, it is to push a type of narrative or to completely erase any qualities the original had because if they do not give a reasonable (in universe) explanation, why change a character already made?

Fairly Odd Parents and Spongebob really should have just ended like 10 years ago
The old guy isn't Timmy. He's a reference to Timmy's old "Adult" design from season 1, that's just a random actor (I saw a leak of the scene in question). Besides, the director of the show has stated that Channel Chasers was the canonical ending for Timmy and there's no plan to change that. Chad Timmy lives on, this is just an after story.

I can see a little bit of why huge companies reusing and rebooting the same shows and series, it safer to reboot a show, then just to created a new entirely show. People grow with these characters and hard to open up to new ones. DreamWorks has amazing IPs and franchise, from HTTYD, Shrek to Kung fu panda, but when they try to be original like Ruby Gilman the teenage kraken the movie fail.
Business side of it, it's killing the creativity of artist, because companies want to play it safe, and try not to make new shows.

At this point Nickelodeon only cares about their cash cows and it shows bc they gave Spongebob and The Loud House a bunch of spin offs rebooted FOP twice without giving any older Nicktoon like Danny Phantom, MLAATR, Jimmy Neutron, etc any second thought. And their one of their new shows in 2024 is called Rock, Paper, Scissors
First they tried a live action Sitcom on Paramount+ which was short-lived and now they do this including all the other unnecessary changes they made to the series like adding Chloe and ignoring the rules even forgetting and dropping a lot of characters. This series deserved better and should’ve ended with channel chasers. Saberspark was right butch Hartman destroyed his legacy by his own pride

At least this "reboot" follows a natural progression of the series, a new God Kid. But Nick has been washed for years, any good show they cancel because it doesn't do the spongebob numbers
The problem though is that her fairys shouldn't be cosmo and Wanda we have to much attachment to them with Timmy to the point that it feels wrong for them not to be with him. If they where going to go this route they should have made grown up poof be her fairy that would at least make sense.

I wouldn't mind seeing new Fairy God Parent's, since that's not that bad of an idea, but doesn't really harm the OG show or what Cosmo and Wanda were with Timmy. In anything, it's fun to see how Cosmo and Wanda handle a different kid besides Timmy, allowing you to see new avenues of their character(s).

I’ve actually heard good things about this new series.
We reached the point when people misjudging cartoons and movies in advance just for sake of it...Which is really sad. Same thing happened recently with upcoming Plankton The Movie. The alleged script was linked yesterday and many folks lost their mind it called it a trash. Only to being reveled just today that is very decent spinoff.

I can actually rock with this since its a new character. It doesn't feel super forced or just flat out wrong like it does when they race swap some characters. I will say what does feel wrong, Casmo and Wanda... I feel like they're still a big staple of The Fairly Odd parents with Timmy as the MC. I dont know too much about this new series but my only request-- and I think this would help tremendously-- would be to Have Poof be the Fairly God-parent instead. I feel like that better embraces and transitions this new era of FOP. Cosmo and Wanda should be Cameos/guest appearances and same goes for Timmy. Either have Poof be the godparent or a new fairy all together. I just think Poof would be a great call back to the OG series, while still keeping things new and fresh.
