I grew up in Conneaut too! As did most of my family. And I didn’t realize how much I missed it til watching this video! Thank you for reminding me of how great Conneaut is! Now I need to get up there for DDay!

This does bring back memories. I haven't set foot in Conneaut since I was in my late teens early 20's, visiting relatives. I still have friends and family that live there. You definitely described it to the T. When I left, I was 11, all the heavy industry was starting to close shops. Some folks moved elsewhere for better job opportunities. My folks were no exception. I definitely miss the atmosphere. I definitely miss going to the beach during the summer on weekends. We also used to watch the freighters come into the dock yard. I'm not sure if that still happens or not. I remember the fishing was good too. Lake Erie Perch and Walleye sandwiches. Also the mom and pop pizza joints and bars.

It looks like it's in better shape than Ashtabula.

I grew up there too. My uncle John Mayberry owned Captain Jacks down by the water.

Conneaut is a cute little town. Too.bad Ashtabula county is in such bad shape. Alot of mom and pop pizza joints. Wish we had more of those here in madison. Conneaut has potential. Really hope the locals and such do something to keep the town on the up and up.
