Blue Streak front seat on-ride 4K POV Conneaut Lake

- This classic wooden out and back wooden coaster opened in 1938, but has seen some lengthy down time when it was SBNO (standing but not operating) from 1995-1996 and 2007-2010. This has largely been due to the park financial woes, but don't let the condition of the coaster fool you - it's a great ride filled with bouncy air time.
Conneaut Lake Park is located at Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania.

Sickening what the new park owner has done to this coaster and other classic rides there.
This was my childhood coaster. You didn't have to get back in line to ride over and over if it wasn't busy (sometimes on a weekday). Such great memories! Loved it.
When it was really slow, we would give everyone a turn choosing their next seat.
(:
Fr, now you gotta go to Cedar Point and wait 5 minutes on a really dead day just to ride it. I love Cedar Point, but this was a cheaper and faster way to ride Blue Streak. (I know they're a little different, but kinda the same).
I aboslutely love the ride op, he's in almost every vlog in the park!
I saw him when ElToroRyan and Uncle Nate went to the park :D He's such a cool guy and one of the best ride ops there seem to be~
@@Poison_Eevee the blue streak got burnt down... I cant believe it.
@juiceboxer100 always a market for fentanyl
@@NikoLight1400 the blue streak became the orange blaze
rip blue streak, it will be missed
The one at Cedar Point is still Alive and Well.
@@RustybeltRCthat’s an entirely different ride..?
This ride is immensely fun. Hit this park on the way to Cedar Point from Baltimore (also going to Lakemont and Waldameer that day). This ride caused my friend and I to have so much fun. We rode it like 8 times in a row as no one was at the park due to off and on rain. Memories!
awesome
I this ride just don’t eat before u get on
I rode it 25 times in a row
@@albymac420 rip neck
Hold those memories dearly...this burned down recently.
Im surprised this coaster passes inspection each year. I swear, Lincoln rode this coaster when he was an adult!
So true! 😂
Is this a joke or not?
Because if not it’s not true
Layla W it’s a joke
If Skyliner passes inspection, anything can. By which I mean it's a pretty shaky coaster and can be get pretty rough at some time.
I rode the Conneaut Lake BLUE STREAK just once back in the 1980's. It was so rough, I hated it. Couldn't wait for the train to return to the station in one piece. Now that it's gone, I'm feeling saddened by its demise. I find myself watching videos of the BLUE SREAK in a whole new perspective -- wishing I had a chance to ride it one more time.
...I can remember as a kid going to Conneaut and as soon as getting out of my parents car racing to the Blue Streak ...This memory is forever a memory i never want to forget..This park may not have been a 6 flags type of park but for its foot print in history it was every bit as exciting to go to when you were a kid..
I rode this coaster back in the sixties long before it fell into such disrepair. Even though I understand that steps have been taken to being it back to it's glory days I would be reluctant to ride it now. Such a shame as it really is a fun ride. No one makes mention of the graphic in the station. At one time the red bulbs would light up so the people waiting in line to ride could track the progress of the car as it sped along the track.
I remember that from the mid eighties...great memories
rode it last year (again) I think maybe one bulb was working on the map. Been going there since the 70s
I miss them lighting up!
My first coaster in 67 at the age of 10.it was taller than all those trees back then.
I use to love the ominous painting of the rollercoaster with the bulbs b4 entering the tunnel!!!💯❤️❤️❤️
The fate of this ride is gut wrenching.
I loved this roller coaster so much, I got the job of inspecting the track every day the summer before I headed to Parris Island. I rode it 2 or 3 circuits before opening and again after closing. Once a week, I walked the entire circuit with a crowbar and a sledge hammer.
The whip and the airtime in the back seat with the rest of the cars empty was unreal. We had to do that to assure the forces were still safe.
Judging the condition here, it wasn't salvageable when they abandoned it. The last pictures I saw of it, the cars had been disassembled and most of the wheels were missing.
It didn't burn down. It was demolished, and the junk wood pile caught fire.
The rest of my day was spent driving the train and hoping the deer wouldn't escape. The Wild Mouse was maintained by a contractor.
Most of the other rides were sold to collectors and small parks that feature nostalgia rides. Another of my favorites was the fun house, but they tore out the labyrinth and installed a Scrambler that they ran with the lights out with black lights and hard rock music. It was as cheesy as it sounds.
(:
Was my 1st coaster will always hold a special place in my heart. Burned down in 2022
RIP Blue Streak. We'll remember you
The roller coaster that started my love for roller coasters was a Vettel, it was the Zepher at Pontchartrain Beach( R.I.P.). Such a classic and not many Vettels left and it needs to be preserved.
Ya know its rough when people are yelling ow and it hurts lmfao
I've ridden it. It does.
The turn around got retracked and transition from old track to new track is rough little shift that if you're not ready for hurt 🤣🤣😂😂. The camera didn't catch it to the extent you feel it but the voices sure did 😂😂🤣🤣
And when the mounted camera shakes.
good night, ol' girl. rest well. you were given so many chances at life throughout your long history, and thrilled and entertained an uncountable number of riders, but the wrong kind of people caught up with you eventually.
Don’t forget Cedar Point’s Blue Streak.
I'll miss your real-time analog map, with edison bulbs lit up, to show the coaster's location. That really built up my childhood adrenaline!
A full minute into the video and I thought the entire coaster was indoors
My God! This looks like it was the greatest roller coaster ever! It’s like if an old amusement park was abandoned for 20 years and then some thrillseeker kids discovered it in all its dilapidated glory and tried to ride it for the first time. I would’ve been scared to death on this thing!
Rest In Peace blue streak :(
great coaster, it was my first "big" coaster when I was a kid. I rode it last summer for the first time in probably 20 years, it was great but it does not give you to many feelings of safety
RIP Blue Streak...
Blue Streak at Cedar Point is still alive.
Right before it was tragically destroyed by its owner, it had had a lot of re-tracking done and was in stable condition.
I rode this ride a few years ago time after time with my brother. It reminds us of our grandpa because he was from conneautville.
This roller coaster is what made me hate roller coasters LOL. I rode this as a 4-5 year old and almost flew out. It was a lot faster back when the tracks weren't all crooked and destroyed. I just remember being so banged up and sore after riding it haha.
Looking at this video's comments, I guess I'm not the only one who started my coaster journey here!
It is a real shame that this coaster is now gone.
Watching with sound on is the best. I love hearing the kids talking and laughing. So sad to know the Blue Streak won't be eliciting any more excited shouts or chuckles.
Now this classic (ancient) woody commands RESPECT, delivering one hell of a ride!
This makes my ❤ ache but thank you. This was my summer place and for all of the things that have gone through it was far better than it is now.
The only way to ride now..
I once rode this 24x in one day with my cousin back in the old CLP days. We just started visiting again a few years ago, and boy does it bring back the memories. I hope they can continue to grow back up to the park of my youth.
tour it down today
The blue streak was built in 1937. She was 84 when she passed in 2022. It was a real treat to ride it and will be missed. Rip blue streak. And rip clp.
Is the ride currently operating?
Yes
Yes I have rode it in 2019
yes i rode it 2 weeks ago
@@coasterforce had a substitute teacher say he broke his sternum during this ride
@@brandondowdy4220 I've ridden this coaster. It is pretty rough. My hands were bleeding afterward from hanging on!
RIP Blue Streak. (Apparently caught fire while being dismantled yesterday.)
Used to go here all the time with my family when I was a kid, our camp was like 20 min away. Loved it for being a small park. Good memories. Sad to see what it’s become.
i remember the devils den, those were the days.
it does definitely show it's age but i still think it looks pretty fun.
Cindy Kitty it is that was the campground I go to you could see my camper in the video
Didn't make the 40 minute trip down there this year, but I see Conneaut Lake Park has still not yet invested in a piece of plywood to fully close up that tunnel. Maybe next year (they should have announced "new piece of plywood" addition for 2018 on roller coaster day).
I’d bet that the law will require them to have an expensive, professional crew to come out to screw that plywood back on. There can’t be any other reason it would take them over 2 years to do that. I get why rules are in place but plywood is plywood and screws are screws. If the roof fails in some way, there isn’t any other protection or precaution that a professional crew would add.
@@Mr.Killjoy95 The crew that maintains the coaster is all volunteers, there were other parts of the coaster that needed tending to before they could focus on the tunnel. They have fixed it for this year but there was tons of structural and track work done over the past few years.
@@Coaster_Universe they got the wood from a coaster at the now closed Geauga Lake.
Aaron McCutcheon Yes, Raging Wolf Bobs. I have two of the original PTC cars from that ride!
@@Coaster_Universe Nice! Now get some track and construct a small lift hill in your yard!
Rip blue streak. I never got to ride.
Operator is in love with his own voice “enjoy the ride and something something something something absolutely and not permitted enjoy the ride”. Dude could have said the same amount by keeping his trap shut
Who’s here after the fire? So sad. It was a great ride with the buzzbars
too bad the owner burned it down
@@Duck_DuckNoGoose owner should be fined or jailed

@@OldsVistaCruiser yep, illegally setting a “controlled” fire
That place seems like it has a lot of heart but damn if it doesn't look like the owner forgot to tell the employees that they were abandoning it and they all just keep going to work.
This coaster always makes me think I'm about to die but I love it and will ride it every time I go
Now Sadly Demolished. R.I.P. Blue Streak.
This Ride has single hand-idly kept many of chiropractors in business. Those first 3 hills make your spine compress so bad your life flashes before your eyes because it feels as if your spine is getting ready to fly thru the top of your skull.
Have you ever ridden the mean streak at cedar point? (before they re-did it)... Much more violent!
So true! My boyfriend was in so much pain from the first hill he couldn't walk afterwards
Sketchy as hell, but still looks like a ton of fun because I love wooden coasters.
SO sketchy, but awesome
Conneaut lake park says Goodbye to blue streak
It's sad that the new owner destroyed it by setting it on fire while dismantling it
And now, she's gone. RIP.
It burned down to the ground yesterday :(
2:04 “UUUUOOOHHH!” … “Help!”
“Did you get hurt?”
“Yeah!”
Accurate.
I was at the all-night event “Blue Streak Bash” in May of 1997. Car 3 Seat 3 (nicknamed “Square Wheels”) would go up empty because of how hard it would spike your spine at the bottom of the drops.
A classic ride, but like everything at that park, it just seemed destined to burn. It was only a matter of time.
Ride that shit at night in complete darkness in October as part of "Ghost Lake's" 13 levels of fear!
Damn I would have passed out and shit my pants at the same time 😭😭😭
RIP Old Blue! 😢💙🎢
This coaster is no more! They were doing a controlled burn to get rid of some debris and caught the coaster on fire! Suspicious yes but demo on it starts today! 😢😢
He intentionally tore it down and was burning the remnants. It was no accident
This was no accident. They were tearing it down and burned the rubble on purpose. Probably because the owner didn't want to deal with removing the debris.
My dads co. Had a picnic there one year. Back when it was a popular park...that was the first roller coaster i ever road...my mom took me on it. Had a good time
Looks like the Voyage but like 50 years older...
XBCPGamer29 so every out and back woodie looks like voyage?
Zonies Coasters I never said that...
XBCPGamer29 by saying this looks like the voyage you kind of did
Zonies Coasters Not really. He probably based this on the fact that this is heavily enclosed in forestry similar to the Voyage, which is understandable. Saying that all out and back coasters look like this is a very obsolete comparison unfortunately.
As of jan. 28 2022 rip blue streak.
Looks sketchy AF
Its been operating since the 1930s :-)
It definitely is, but part of the fun
It’s fun tho
Its been closed for over 30 years at that point
EWITT MOTH *300 years
Rip, you will be missed, maybe
RIP Blue Streak 1938-2022
My first ever roller coaster! I was 5.
Rip blue streak
Sad to see a coaster in that condition, but it does look fun!
I saw my camper in the campground next to it. Also this ride is really bumpy but fun
To be fair, she's over 80 years old. =D
The beginning of the ride looks just like a nightmare about a roller coaster I once had.
RIP BLUE STREAK
RIP: Blue Streak
They just Tore this town this week. RIP:
My dad use to work on this coaster back in the day. Now it's so painful to ride. I can ride it like once but that's all lol.
Just watched wjettv 24 erie ,pa the blue streak just burnt
Its kinda sad to see conneaut lake in pieces right now
Love how straight the lift hill is😂😂Looks fun though!
Wow lol. Didn't notice that at first.
Somewhere in these eyes I’m on your side
That jolt at 2:03 hurts!
this is a really old roller coaster, i rode this 5 times in the same day one time 😂
adriana silvis same
You could probably ride it 50 times in a day if you wanted to.
I will miss the blue streak I have a camp at conneaut lake park now my summer is ruined thx Todd for destroying a land mark yes I may be 16 and not understand everything but I will never set foot in that park again
I wonder what the layout would look like if it had the RMC treatment
Looks like it could stand a GCI makeover. Which would probably happen if Cedar Fair, Six Flags or Herschand ever bought out the park and if they did the right thing and made the park better instead of just sitting on it or demolishing it.
Burnt down today.
Despite living close to this area growing up, never visited this park once. The tunnel at the beginning is awesome. I hope I can ride it sometime when I return to the area. Is it coming back in 2022? Looks pretty beat up!
It just got demolished
The whole park is just about gone the ne owner took away everything.
There it goes
Rip Blue Streak
I came here from an airtime thrills video about him saying this is the only ride he for real thought he would get injured on. Is it just the roughness or is it something else?
Great memories!
Rip the blue streak😞
Just heard this park was up for sale and all the rides. 😔
This coaster has recently been intentionally burned down to a crisp 😭
Because he made a not smart decision to burn while it was windy and caught half the park on fire how do I know my dads a fireman and was on scene at the time and told me
@@jordancurtician8380 the owner did it intentionally why would he be burning otherwise
This is just a more intense version of the Cedar point blue streak
Blue Steak lost to fire Jan 4th 2022
LOL, all those "ow"s and "Did that hurt?"s
Seems like a huge liaility with all those trees next to the track. Imagine being in that front seat on the first train after a big branch has fallen across the track. Ouch...
Conneaut closes rides every couple hours to do inspections and the like. While the Streak is showing her age, and I can totally understand folks' concern with possibility of disrepair (although from my understanding, a huge part of the park's maintenance costs are focused on keeping the Streak in safe working order because it's such a huge part of it's legacy), things like downed trees that are well within the park's control have never been a concern.
Sad to see a coaster like this
I don't think I COULD be repaired now a days though...
RIP
This ride got burnt down... one of the oldest wooden rollercoasters in US. Just gone now. I cant believe some guy just bought the place. And then closed it down🙁
rode it a few months back. feels like it has a "tipout lift hill" lol
The new owner should be ashamed destroying the memories of hundreds of thousands or more, including myself!!
The Blue Streak was the 1st roller coaster I EVER rode in my life in 1977!!! I've been a coaster enthusiast ever since. Tearing it down and it "catching fire" in the process truly hurt my heart tremendously!!! The memories of going there with my family are unmatched. Best times ever for me. Gone but NEVER forgotten. I hope the new owners enjoy their insurance money. 😒👎🏾
OH HELL YES... run around and get right back on :)
The turns a re brutal on this ride but I rode it like 6 times
Poor girl! I've ridden this coaster! It DOES hurt!!
It’s gone now
