You looked like you enjoyed that!! 🙂 Those roads looked busy but you looked comfy and content cycling along....'game over' would have been a shock to watch by the way 🤭
the cycling infrastructure isn't great here, not very pedestrian nor cyclist friendly, with open drainage system if you're not alert accident is just round the corner.
How long did you take for the whole journey? First day is 9 hours, how about the second day? Planning a trip riding foldie too. Can’t use road bike’s speed to compare
I think the entire round island is approx 45-50 miles, so it is entirely possible to do the whole journey in one day on a road bike.
I did it in 2 days, because I am old and riding a foldie, but also that I had to stop frequently to film, walk back to fetch the camera and so on.
But also that I wanted to enjoy the trip, I didn't do the trip to break any record :).
2nd day, from Teluk Bahang back to starting point at the hostel was about 3 hrs (from memory), so it wasn't too far, by that time I got hooked and decided to go beyond just the round island, so I've decided to complete the round island and take the ferry across to Butterworth, hoping to cycle all the way to Taiping in 2 days, but I had to change my plan on arrival in Simpang Ampat, in order to speed things up, so that I can be in KL to meet some friends and family the week end.
My max per day is typically 30 - 40 miles, the more hills the less the distance, avr speed is typically 5 - 7 miles on flat terrain. Thanks for watching.
@@ODOB thanks for reply. Whole video was nice and clear as well. You should try a Round island trip around Singapore as well. 120+ Km. Should be doable in a day as there are a lot less slopes.

That’s great, all the best and hope for no rain. It’s not an issue riding through the night in SG as the roads are well lit at night
