All the fun of the fair. I saw Ian Carr giving a talk on Miles Davis at the Kendal Jazz Festival back in 2001, really interesting guy. I picked up his Miles biography from Oxfam a while back (huge book) but haven't got to it yet. Chris Spedding gets everywhere. There's an 80's Wayne Shorter album lurking down at my local traders at the moment, might even be 'Atlantis' - will have to check this weekend to see if it's still there. Been streaming a bit of Pat Metheny recently, never really listened to him before. I thought the background music was Caribbean drums. Good showings as ever George.
Cheers James pat metheny great guitarist early stuff good. Amazing you seen Ian carr what a treat. Would pick up anything by Wayne shorter. Man was a genius.
Hi G. Love the clip of Dorothy Ashby at 17:00 or so. Seems fresh .might look out for that ...funky harp sounds! Good to see you can get some of the older stuff easily from your local shop.
@@johnnyocvinylrecords1079 hi Ian yippee her three lps round that time are very upbeat. Yes I’m blessed having a wee record shop in town. Would have to go in to Edinburgh.
Great stuff as always George! - Mike
Thanks Mike

Consider picking up the two-disk Cecil Taylor reissue "In Transition" on Blue Note. I think you'll be surprised and pleased.
