Little bit of symbolism near the end there. The stained-glass window that the body crashed through had a depiction of St. Michael the arch angel. He is the angel that cast Satan out of paradise/heaven. So, Robert taking out the mafia leader was him casting the devil out Robert's personal paradise.
Robert McCall's previous identity was John Creasy, a former CIA operative who got hired by a Mexican gangster to be his daughter's bodyguard. The daughter, named "Pita", gets kidnapped and Creasy rescues her by "surrendering" himself to the Mexican gangsters. It's implied that he died under the gang's hands. What isn't commonly known is that Creasy singlehandedly eliminates all the Mexican gang members and goes back to work for the CIA with his handler, Susan Plummer. He fakes his death, and starts living his life as a civilian under the name of "Robert McCall". Pita goes under witness protection and is adopted by Susan and Bill Plummer, not knowing that Pita was Creasy/McCall's principal/protectee. She then takes the name "Emma Collins" and starts working for the CIA. Creasy's and Pita's story is continued in this movie.
This is the end. They are seriously considering doing a prequel with his son David Washington or with Michael B Jordan playing a younger Robert McCall. Denzel said he is absolutely done. He is getting to old.. his words. Denzel is 69. The fight scenes did change a lot from the earlier movies which adds more realism to it. Because the older you are, you have to become more deadly because you can fight as long or move as fast and your not as agile etc. I remember a pro boxer told me that the most dangerous man is an old man, especially an old fighter. I laughed but he explained to me. They've been training so their life, the have muscle memory but they're old and no they don't have youth on their side, so the know the mist end the fight early. Everything they throw will be to do maximum damage fast. And they will find a weapon if the can be Whey strike will have an intent to kill, cripple or blind. Once he explained it, it made sense. The odds a video on UA-cam of an old retire boxer that someone picked a fight with. One blow was all it took. Lol! Anyway this makes me wonder why the fighting was little different and a lot more deadly. It was kind of Steven Segallish in the sense that he was amidst using the person's own aggression and momentum against them.
Odd thing to praise, but I am so glad they didn’t make Agent Conroy (David Denman) into a villain. Considering how the other two movies felt the need to throw in a bit of contrived plot twist and have a corrupt cop or agent that causes the plot to happen or leads to wondering how any group of criminals knew where McCall was, I was legit thinking that they were going to do the same thing with his character, and whenever something bad was happening, it was because they were gonna throw in that contrivance where it’s revealed that he was working with the Mafia. But surprisingly, they didn’t go that route, which I think really works.
The last scene them winning the game was first kept in the starting but den director felt that it should where the movie should end, that’s where he found his peace
Great reaction like always, if you look closely in the end the fact he forgot his spoon was so crazy. His comfort and love there is curing some of his OCD!! Keep up the good work.
I love how all the films, just like this at 22:58, play like slasher and psychological horror films… for the bad guys! Robert is truly a monster to “evil” that gets embodied by each film’s antagonists, and he slaughters them like the victims in most slasher movies; even the choices in the music and the film used in the kill sequences, play like a horror film.
@@ennesshay5040 the first film ends with Robert hunting down entire team of experts mercenaries, hired by a sociopathic ex-fsb(kgb) spetsnaz assassin, who in turn, is the right hand man of a Russian Oligarch-- operating an entire empire of drugs, illegal money, weapons and sex trafficking… the second film he takes out a small squad of his own former colleagues who killed his ex-cia friend, after she discovered they were freelancing assassinations--and the third film, after getting money stolen from a retiree, he ends up taking out lead family of the Camorra, or the Italian Mafia in Italy… I know there is tons of inspiration-- but really it’s not justifying anything except the very broad idea, if you’re a bad guy, he’s there to give you the best offer ever, stop or be punished. I really don’t know why you choose my comment or this film to literally die on a hill for the idea you mentioned. Plus if your gonna go your route, he’s wasn’t CIA anyway he’s DIA, it was the US department of defense/military intelligence torture programs that he was trained by… and every major military has them. Soooooo 🤷🏾♂️
Ladies, I loved your reaction, Achara, your comment at the beginning about him falling onto a bullet just cracked me up and I can see him just living out his life in this quaint little village by the sea. Well done you two. Love from N.Z.
If you watch the other 20, previous movies in this series the picture at the end of this movie will be made clearer. The young agent is connected to Robert in a way that you don't know unless you watch the 2 previous movies. Go back and watch them.
We probably won't see much of Dakota fanning in movies.she's done that more likely she"s gonna be behind the cameras probably some writing. I think that would be good for her for personal growth. She started out as a child actor. Ask with Denzel Washington this is it. I think they should do a backstory. The Equalizer when it begin his son should be the main character.
That Village of Altamonte is safe. For those that didn't notice; Whilst The Village was Praising God, They were being Delivered! And No One will be looking for Robert, because he leaves no Evil behind. And No One will be drawn to notice him because he's nondescript, and that community keeps its mouth shut.
if you not have seen ""man on fire"" by denzel you will not understand te last part where he gifs the girll the little book and the camera focus on the picture 28:15
Vivian Day? More like Vivian Slays cause she is killing it today. Side note, loved the reaction from you two. It was a great movie to finish off the trilogy.
just so y'all know, this is a horror movie, and the Equalizer has joined the pantheon iconic horror killers dude was cold af in this. on another note, seeing Denzel and Dakota together for the first time since Man on Fire, was great
I like how these movies always turn into a reverse saw movie for bad guys, because damn. It is also a nice change of pace where the good guy doesn't wait for the bad guys to return before fighting them. He basically hunts them after they go away. That is like the smartest thing he could do.
Vivian watch Ghostbusters Afterlife with Kristen that's a third sequel as well. Also Afterlife have Mid&Post-credits scenes don't forget to watch those too 😉.
Stop stabbing yourself, Stop stabbing yourself, stop stabbing yourself 😅. That scene was like a horror movie, the lighting, the music, the expression on denzel's face.
Regrettably, I wasn't as crazy about this one as the first two. The story was decent enough, the villains were scary, and I dug the reveal about Dakota Fanning's character, but the action was seriously lacking with this one. Not that I need something blowing up every minute to be entertained, but when compared to the other movies, it's simply not as exciting. It's okay overall, though. Someone here in the comments suggested doing a reaction to Deja Vu. That's a good one! It's one of my favorite Denzel movies. Very solid time-travel thriller.
Have you ladies already seen the movie before your reaction? The only reason why I ask is that you seem very comfortable with the killing. Is this something you've had to do yourselves, or do you really not recognize the brutality of the act? I thought I almost even saw one of you being enamerrated with denzel's actions on screen while other people died. 🙄 Perhaps you missed the point of the director. Please don't do any reviews about military movies as veterans might misunderstand your actions as disrespectful and inconsequential to their sacrifices made on the battery foryour freedoms.
Maybe I’m the only one but this movie to me was mid. And an OTT watch rather than theatre coz it’s a big disappointment if u go into theatres expecting a good amount of action
Mid? Hardly.... This kicked ass in the Theater, had plenty of action, goryest of the 3 and a nice lil twist at the end that alot of people didn't see coming....
@@JohnDAmico-ci2hz disagree. I mean I hadn’t watched the prev two so idk if relatively it has more action. But when I saw it’s poster it seemed like a rlly cool action movie to me…. What transpired in the theatres was too much walking and talking and barely any action. BGM was good tho… also what twist ur talking about ?
I can't believe that Denzel Washington got his first trilogy 😳. It's about time.
Denzel acts the same in every movie
To me every movie is just another sequel
And I'm here for it all day..😂
Little bit of symbolism near the end there. The stained-glass window that the body crashed through had a depiction of St. Michael the arch angel. He is the angel that cast Satan out of paradise/heaven. So, Robert taking out the mafia leader was him casting the devil out Robert's personal paradise.
That's a great catch! I love the symbolism.

omg what an onscreen reunion for Denzel and Dakota after Man on Fire after two decades later!!!

I refuse to accept that Man on Fire was two decades ago! 😢😢

i would hope that it is his son
I've seen that video
Funnily enough it was an Italian man
Who put a spanking on that young chap
He's a beast..💪🏻🇬🇧
Indubitably
I like how they had their whole meeting "We'll get him tomorrow!". No, Robert gets you tonight lulz ❤
Tactical. I knew they weren't going to see the light of day.
Loved the movie...my wife and I vacationed in this village in Italy. The name of the village is called Atrani.

A good way to round out thetrilogy. And the two of you made for a nice collaboration.

Or justifying CIA torture programmes - abroad ? [ then again ~ ''You're a LONG way from home, American..!'' ]

When the devil himself visits the Italian Mafia
it's more chaotic ,the way they showed .

Love Denzel. Do check him out in 'Deja Vu' (2006). Underrated sci-fi thriller. Ta. 🧡

When he got shot in the beginning, i thought it was a flash forward moment. I thought he was going to die at the end until that next scene.
A dynamic duo reaction! I worked in Italy for two summers. Loved it! And yes, the men are (annoyingly) attractive. 😂
Dakota fanning's character had 8 scenes in it and it was not just about her character
Denzel is the cool uncle at this point

Equalizer 4, people forget the grandson who shot him in the beginning is alive and will grow up and seek revenge
I thought the same thing

don't worry they all just fell down, 🤣🤣🤣 dang i just love this movie

Achara 🥰
Dakota's character was a CIA agent, while Robert was an assassin for the CIA who formerly ran a team of assassins who he took out in part 2
I think het character was new in cia and it was more about
Robert getting on well with the townspeople and helping rhem out and rhey save each other
Why are Vivian and Steph so gorgeous??😭😭
Bro, don't be a creep.

I really feel good when i saw evil humans died slowly even if that only a movie but i think that can be true to life story

on another note, seeing Denzel and Dakota together for the first time since Man on Fire, was great
16:36 It's all shits & giggles until someone giggles & shits 😉🤣
I honestly think Denzel could still do these movies as a doddery 90-year-old. Such a good sequel.
Like Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas doing 1986 Tough Guys movie when they were in their early 70s
Like Liam Neeson, Denzel Washington doesn't seem to get any older as an action hero
