You did a great job using sidescan and downscan locating crappie then using Livescope to pick them out of the brush pile. 😊
Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it! Glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching!
New sub. Really enjoy your videos !!! From West Virginia
Thank you, I appreciate it! Glad to have you here all the way from West Virginia!
Great explanation, your setup definitely works well for you.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
You have great boat control. I use spot lock and seem to be moving alot. Stays within the 5 foot perimeter.
Love your explanation and livescope at the same time.
I have had livescope for a year and still learning.
Great showing of side image and explanation.
Thanks
Thanks Todd, I really appreciate the positive feedback! I put my Livescope transducer back on my trolling motor (from a pole mount) to force me to work on getting better at controlling the boat. I still have a long way to go. Thank you very much for watching!
That great and strait to point thanks for sharing.
Thank you, I appreciate that. Thank you for watching!
why do you have all Hummingbird graphs but use Garmin for the live scope? Have you looked into Hummingbird's version- Maga Live? Is it as good or is Garmin that much better?
Short answer, is my boat had humminbird console and front graphs when I bought it, then I later bought Livescope (aka, Forward Facing Sonar (FFS). IMO, Garmin Livescope is FAR more advanced than Humminbird with forward facing sonar. When it comes to FFS, IMO the 2nd best after Garmin is Lowrance Active Target, which I personally installed and have used on a friend's boat. I still put Garmin as #1. When it comes to down/sidescan, Humminbird mega has been the arguable leader for many years, so I feel I have the best of both worlds, currently. The reality is, they're all very good, and they're all constantly improving, so it's hard to go wrong choosing any brand.
@@OutdoorQuests thanks, it seems Garmin has the forward part figured out. I've always liked Hummingbird, Garmin was first and they have won the marketing game for sure.
@Bluedogs Agreed. Garmin is the proven leader with FFS. I like Humminbird too. I'm so impressed with Garmin, that I'll likely invest in a new Graph soon for livescope. I doubt I'll upgrade to the LVS34. Doesn't seem to be a big enough improvement at this time to warrant the investment for my pocketbook.
Good video 10:45

Thanks Cody, nice video. Very informative. I upgraded to live scope this year and I'm struggling with mounts for my Garmin 93sv. I like your setup being up high. What is it, does it fold down, and do you like it? Thanks, Steve in NWA.
Thank you Steve, I appreciate you watching! The mount is made by Stowaway. I have the XL model (stowawaymounts.com/products/stowaway-xl). I do like it because it gets the graph up high, so less strain on my neck. It will raise and lower (about mid-way up, there is a tension knob). It also folds down flat to the deck. The link I pasted above will show it in the different positions. It's a well-built mount. I'd recommend it for sure. The prices have gone up about $100 since I bought mine, but that's par for about everything these days. Thanks again Steve, I appreciate you watching and commenting! -Cody
I need a newer sidescan. I have a gen 2 and its useless
My Helix units are Gen 2's as well. I'm sure Gen 4's are a big improvement, but I"m pretty satisfied with these units. Not sure my vision is good enough to justify better graphs! :) Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
