    What I've done in a pinch to deal with overhead lights is just to use trashbags and gafftape them to cover the lights not the prettiest solution but its easy to just grab a roll of hefty bags from costco leave them in your car for these purposes.

      @@davidmorefield yeah might not be the prettiest solution but it can def help out in a pinch, you could also try using one of those cheap 5 in one reflectors with the black side also taped up or rigged on some sort of grip arm to block the light, its so frustrating when the overhead lights dont turn off in those rooms.

    great video man! A tip for finding reflections that I usually do when filming these corporate conference rooms and Im pointing the camera towards glass is I use my phone's light and I just move it around to see if its on the shot, and if it is, then at least I'm aware to not have anyone move around in that area or anything otherwise when you get back to the studio, and dump your footage and start going through it on a large monitor, you'll see all that stuff... The Adicam Carts are great. I have the Standard one and i absolutely love it. Came in handy both on smaller one man band shots for transporting all the equipment, but also on bigger shoots, where i am only a camera guy and also have a first ac but loads more of gear. When i know i will be in a location for a day or longer and will need to charge batteries i always put a powertstrip on the top ad have a 5 meter stinger ready to go and first fing i try to find a place to put it near, where i will be shooting and near an outlet. The cool thing is, when changing rooms in the middle of the day, there is no need to completely pull apart the charging situation. Its only unplugging one cable rolling to the next location and plugging in the cable in a new outlet.
    It is a really solid cart. Definetly doesnt feel cheap, but it also has some weight. Which is a good and bad thing. The wight mostly comes from the wheels. Because of that i dont pack the wheels in the closed cart, and put them in the car by themselves, so the cart is a good bunch lighter, when loading and unloading.
    But i also think with the mini this gets a big portion easier, because it is not as clunky as the standard

    • @davidmorefield
      @davidmorefield  10 місяців тому

      Yooo thank you so much for your insight. I was thinking about the mini since I have a small car. It’s much lighter than the inovativ too. 60lbs instead of 90.
      Is setting it up as much of a hassle as it looks?
      And how important are the 9 and 10” wheels? Are the 8” sufficient?
      Thank you!

    • @julianwi4571
      @julianwi4571 10 місяців тому

      @@davidmorefield Yeah, i also think the mini is the way to go for you.
      I dont thank setting up is a hassle. May vary for you, because your cart right now is really really quick. I would say it takes me round about two minutes. srewing in the bolts to secure the top takes the longest i would say.
      I bought the cheapest standard combo last year, which comes with the 9" and they are perfectly fine. Had quiet heavy loads on a bumpy gravel way in a park a few months ago and no problems. If your not going to offroad like crazy on fields or something like that the 8" are pobably perfectly fine.
      It was a really big purchase for me because i was and still am a film student, but i was a really good one, if not maybe even the best purchase. Especially looking at the young people i know carts i general are really underrated

      If I cut the house lights I wouldn’t want to grid bc the amount of ambient light on the walls is already low and it would cut it more. Ideally I would cut the house lights or flag them, then bounce one of my own lights off the ceiling.

    Have you considered a RockNRoller cart with the self upgrade from LaVa Cart? The film carts like the Inovativ or adicam are nice, but are a pain to disassemble/assemble for storying in the back of your car. I have a Honda Civic hatchback and use a utility cart from On-Stage. It folds up perfectly, but doesn't have shelves.

    We specialize in corporate B2B work, so yes, you can and you can build a nice business around it. If I was one man band I would 100% be using a MixPre3 II or some sort of 32bit equivalent so you dont have to be concerend about audio peaking in interviews. Would give you more freedom to listen to the interviews, think like an editor/producer and provide more feedback and value on set outside just being the "videographer".

    • @davidmorefield
      @davidmorefield  10 місяців тому

      There is usually a producer on site who is well versed in the desired dialogue from these interviews. I prefer that since they know their market/product/service much more than me.
      Sometimes I am requested to ask the questions and given a question list.
      How is 32bit float presented in an nle? My issue is I never touch the footage so I won’t be able to make any changes to it before they see it. It would have to be very simple for them since their editors are not usually experts.
