Mahler and Abbado = Never an ideal pair. Abbado did not get the tempi right. Mahler is Mahler and not Mozart or one of those Italian guys. There are several conductors past and present that are better Mahler conductors than he was.
What is your expert opinion of the tempi? What was not right? Its supposed to be slow- like a goddamn orgasm- thats why its called what love tells me. Read the score, listen to the critics and experts before you give your youtube personal opinion.

この交響曲にはトロンボーンの3本、なかんずく1番奏者に名人芸が求められます。
カラヤン時代末期に入団したアルント氏は、その点、言うことなしの素晴らしい奏者でした。
彼は、少し後に「ベルリンフィルはなんだかつまらなくなった」と言い残してベルリンを去ってしまいます。本当に大きな「損失」でした。

Camera work not so good. The beginning and most of the trombone solo in the first movement was missed while the camera focused on the conductor.
An interesting opinion! I’m happy whenever I see maestro Abbado 😊
And the 1st bass drum solo, even though I deeply revere Maestro Abbado and his interpretation of this particular symphony is my long-time fave!
