You are A BEAST!! I LOVE IT!!! I appreciate your clear, loud, perfectly-timed calls, which make your routine very easy to follow, even the very first time! Fun routine, excellent well-rounded workout, great music, & good pace & music speed. I'll definitely be back for more, nice job - THANK YOU!!
Thanks! I just LOVE step! It’s a bit of a lost art, but deserves a resurgence! Enjoy! I just recorded a new routine that I’ll post soon, so be on the lookout!
So glad you liked it! Another step workout being recorded today! If you want to join me live while I record, you can join my FB group “Sweat with Janine”. I’ll be live on that group. Lots more great step classes on my UA-cam channel too! 😉Happy sweating!

Thank you!!! 💪 If you like that one, you will probably like several of the ones on my channel and you should check out my Facebook group! “Sweat with Janine” keep sweatin! 💦💦💦
I love this video!! is the first video I see that someone puts the camera behind them!! I can actually concentrate more in the exercise instead of making sure im doing it with the right feet or leg!! definitely a new subscriber...
Janine!! I became so unhappy with my body during the pandemic, mostly because I no longer had group fitness classes. I missed step class the most. Your step videos have given me so much motivation and I’ve seen significant changes in my body and therefore my self confidence. I can’t thank you enough!
Oh my goodness! I am so humbled by your comment! Thank you so much for letting me know about your recent fitness journey! It is comments like yours that keep me motivated to keep adding content. It feels so good to help people stay motivated especially now when our options are so limited. Keep up the great work and look forward to new videos soon! 😊
You're very kind! 🙏 I followed this lesson two times this week and had so much fun! 😊😊 Your channel is rich of great contents, I'll watch other routines soon! 🥰 🔥 Thank You with sweat and fun from Italy! 🙏🎉🥰

Hi!! love your creativity and combos! Your music is great! I teach step in Maryland! Always looking for great music, do you mind sharing where you get your music?
Thanks! Most of my music is from power music. They also have an app where you can use any of their music and even change the bpm. I just started it this past month and I LOVE it! Wish I could find someone else to pay for it though! 😜
This is a great work out. I got a little confused at times but stuck with it. Do you have any videos of just the moves? Also how do you talk while ur moving and ur not even out of breath 🤯. Thanks for the video deff going to keep on doing it to get it down and right. Thanks 😊.
You’ll get it! Repetition is key, especially if you’re new to step or you are learning a new instructor’s style and cueing. I don’t have a demo video yet but that’s an excellent idea! I might have to do one! 😊
@@SweatWithJanine just discovered this workout. So awesome! Do you have regular step classes online? My gym is still not offering classes due to covid and would love to do more classes like this! Thank you!
@@kristenryder7795 hi! I teach at 2 gyms. One encourages me to record but the other is pretty corporate so I’ve only recorded a few from there. I don’t want to push my luck and get in trouble! (And that’s where I teach step.) During early Covid I taught several classes from home on zoom and recorded them too! Check out my channel! There are several step workouts and tons of other great class formats too! Have fun! I add new content usually a couple times a week. 😉
Hi! So excited for you! I use mostly albums from power music. Not sure if I was using the app during this workout but that’s what I use now because it’s so convenient to have all the albums on my phone and be able to change the music speed too! 😉
Most of the time I do for Step because that’s what my subscribers ask for. I have a few older step workouts facing the camera, you just have to dig for them! Check out my step playlist for all of them. 😉
Hey Janine, and fellow subscribers! I need new sneakers for Step Aerobics. I'm on carpeting too. Any suggestions? My running shoes don't have any "give" on the carpeting. Thanks so much!
Unfortunately I have no control over ads. It might be because this particular video has had so many views. Try checking out some of my other videos. They are equally challenging and fun! 💪
@@SweatWithJanine constructive criticism.- Actually, you can manually place your ads. Its a bit of extra work but this will result in a better production. For me, its not okay to interrupt a step combo with ads. Suggest to stop the class for a water break and manually place your ads there. If you don't require the ad revenue, then go without ads.
@@jonnorris4204 thanks again. Actually I am not getting paid a cent and would love to have my videos ad free. If you know of a way for me to request that, please help! I also hate ads interrupting workouts. So annoying!!!
@@SweatWithJanine I have both good news and bad news for you. UA-cam has changed its terms of service recently that allows UA-cam to place ads onto non-monetized You Tube channels like yours. They began rolling this out late 2020. This means that all videos that run ten minutes or longer (Like exercise videos do) can have ads placed automatically by UA-cam and your channel won’t earn anything. But, the good news is that you are allowed to “Monetize” your channel since you have more than 1,000 subscribers and can then opt to manually place the ads at a logical place, like during a water break or at the end. UA-cam will still place one or two ads at the beginning for itself, like it does with all monetized channels. Knowing this, I will no longer comment on ad placement during videos, since these ads are now being placed by UA-cam and not the channel I’m watching.
Too bloody confusing .. keeping up with ever changing steps n garbled commands takes up more energy and effort than the rollout itself... you can barely workout keeping up... just need a physical workout man not mental,,,
I’ve been an instructor since 93 when step was new......it was designed as a low impact workout and safe for the knees......’bouncing’ on the step is an absolute no no.....consider lowering your step so you can do the proper form
@@kristy4474 I’ve been an instructor since step came out.......BOUNCING was off limits! This is damaging to the knees and Gene Miller invented step as a low impact exercise safe for the knees. I know a lot of people who bounced on their step develop long term knee issues including damaged cartilage
@@sonjaemery Again, the step is made to absorb impact. It is better to run on, or jump on, then on the floor. All of running is bouncing. Majority of fighting, karate, dancing, . . . is bouncing. It is better to bounce on the step then, off the step. For example, running up and walking down. Mossa and Les Mills step programs have bouncing. If you tap down, that is a bounce. Even a repeater knee has a bounce in it. I also understand injuries. I always give options when I teach. I even offer for members to take class off the step and on the floor. All is good.
@@kristy4474 when I’m referring to ‘bouncing’ I’m talking about the off technique to the floor......we were taught toe then heel as you step down....not step up bounce bounce down.....this was something we had to keep reinforcing as a safety point......I know a lot of people who hurt their knees by bouncing. A repeater knee is not a ‘bounce’ and we’re talking about step here not other sports.......I’m also not talking about high impact moves either. So for step.........toe -heel low impact as you come down not the skippety bouncy thing....that’s what I’m talking about
@@sonjaemery I understand what you are saying, regarding the downward motion. I agree on stepping down but, I am older and do not teach at the capacity that I use too. Power increases add more of the bounce regardless of up or down movement. Again, this is mostly with younger people who want to get their heart rate up or have more of a workout. If you have ever seen a Les Mills Bodystep class, the athletic circuit can be crazy. Spiderman jumps over the step, speed taps (like soccer drills), jumps off the step, and more. It is crazy. Always offering options, to keep everybody moving, is very important.
🤣 Not everyone wants to do the workout exactly the way I do! I welcome and enjoy teaching to all fitness levels. It’s my job to bring the energy! Each participant will make it their own! 😉
Do not agree, it takes alot of skill and hard practice to teach facing the class. After years of classes participants follow much better facing the class. I see many folks struggling in this class, not properly seeing and connecting with your students is also a factor.
Thanks for standing with your back to the camera. Makes it much easier to follow the steps.
