After a bit of gold prospecting north of Kalgoorlie, using my trusty Minelab metal detector, I stopped for a drink. Whilst sitting on a bank of a small dried up creek, noticed a priceless treasure!
In the sand at the bottom of the dried up creek ,was a set of emu footprints. Initailly I only saw the large one, but as I looked closer I saw at least 2 sets of smaller tracks right next to the larger set.
I can only assume that a female emu (i think it's called a hen), crossed over the creek with at least two chicks running alongside here.
Its great to see these tracks in the bush!

Interesting fact, it wouldn’t have been “her”. The father both incubates the eggs and rears the chicks until near adulthood
Lovely little video, Bruce. Likely a male and a chick as the females play no role in rearing their young ones after they lay eggs. Like the ostrich.
