My 2022 Cactus 4 door Soft Top comes in this week... Can't wait. Can I install the 315/75r16 tires on the original base rims? That's my plan until I do a lift and new rims. Subbed. Thanks.
Great vid, thanks. Is a true 35x12.5 a little bigger than a 315 and if it is, do you feel it would work as well as this tire as far as working stock on the Big Bend?
Makes sense that everything fits, how about performance hits after moving up tire size? I would expect a pretty significant hit to torque, especially if that big bend is at stock 3.7 gearing (unless you opted for the 4.27 with rear locker, which is still a lot lower than the stock sasquatch gearing of 4.7)
No not at all! That 2.3L Ecoboost has 300hp! Hope you run at least midgrade fuel or even premium. Put a CAI in there. Always run full synthetic engine oil esp in 2.3L Ecoboost it works bit harder but excellent powertrain. Love it in my '20 Ranger XLT FX4. Check w/Ford directly bout that Dana axle in Bronco! Ranger has Dana axles too.
I haven't gotten my Bronco yet, but have reserved a Badlands 4-door and enjoy dreaming about all the changes I can make to it when I finally get it. As I understand it, the Badlands trim already has some lift over the stock suspension and comes with 33s; I wonder how much, if any modification would be needed to put the bigger tires in there. Have you played at all with a Badlands?
Hey Fretless- first of all, congrats on the incoming Badlands, I'm jealous! In regards to your question- Yes, the Badlands comes standard with the HOSS suspension (bilstiens) which is the same setup used on the Sasquatch Broncos and therefore has that minor lift over the base rigs. You should be able to get a 35 under there without issue but you'll probably have to yank the crash bars first. Hope this helps man! -Justin
@@ExtremeTerrainBronco That'd be cool if it turns out to be that easy! I know I've seen aftermarket crash bars that come with some lift kits that are thinner front to back to allow for bigger tires without rubbing. I might look into that, too.
@@GCharlesE Yes and no. I didn't get mine because Ford threatened to cancel the order unless I changed it to take off the things I most wanted. I saw a similar build for sale at a local dealership and bought it instead. I've done some mods, but not gone with bigger tires as my family already struggles to get in with the 33s.
Thanks for the reply. I guess my concern is if the factory offset will allow that tire size? And I believe most 315s need 8.5 width rims, no? I think the stock Black Diamond 17 inch rims are only 7.5 wide.
I have a black diamond bronco with the modular bumper, glad to see that 35 fit with no issues!!! It will take me some time before I get 35 but the more you know! Right!? Thanks for the video!
@@ExtremeTerrainBronco I will be following your channels! I have been looking for legit off road company and products, especially local to my area! I'm in south jersey pine barrens region, glad to find a company like this nearby to support! Especially because of my new bronco! Love it!
@@underthelibertytree712 right because you're an engineer and ford just put parts on vehicles that serve no purpose especially parts attached to bumpers . GTFOH If they weren't important to the structural integrity of the bumper they wouldn't be there. Just like on the other bronco with the steal bumper they're not there.
Sooooo, why did they put in those crash bars, are they not important, what safety are you removing?? Are you sure you should be recommending this? I would do it, but Im just a private guy, your a company with liabilities and such.
Well Gabriel, ultimately we are not forcing anyone to remove anything- we're just showing how it is done because frankly a lot of Bronco owners have asked. And you have to keep in mind, Ford deemed it safe enough to remove the crash bars at the factory on Sasquatch equipped Broncos, so that is a pretty good indicator that it is not 'unsafe'. -Justin
285 refers to the width of the tire itself, meaning that its 285mm wide. The second number in a tire size is the aspect ratio. So if you looked at a 285/70 tire, the height of the sidewall is 70% of 285mm. I'd recommend checking out the following site to see what each tire size you're looking at equals in inches! tiresize.com/calculator/ -Zach

Crash bars removed, it’s like removing the air bags from your car. Its a reason they are there. It serves a purpose in protecting you from a car accident.
I don't want to see a video about if I can fit a tire that I can get the vehicle equipped with from the factory that's completely pointless if you want to live up to the extreme terrain name how about fitting that Bronco with some 44s
Thank you for showing this, I cannot believe how easy that bumper is to remove. Ford really thought ahead with a lot of the design of this thing.

Superbly designed! Amazing vehicle.
I have 37” nitto grapplers, Sasquatch Badlands, 2” lift. No rub, quiet and smooth.👍
Stock 2” lift it an additional 2 inch lift ?
Most helpful video I’ve seen on the topic
Thanks for the video, I was considering going with 35s but wasn't sure if they would fit, now I know!

what wheel offset is recommended for a flush or very slight poke from the fender flares?
My guess is a 0
Great vid, thanks. Is a true 35x12.5 a little bigger than a 315 and if it is, do you feel it would work as well as this tire as far as working stock on the Big Bend?
Yes, a 35x12.5 is larger in the following areas:
Diameter = 0.67in
Width = 0.12in
Circumference = 2.09in
Sidewall = 0.33in
Makes sense that everything fits, how about performance hits after moving up tire size? Pretty big oversight to not have included that information…
The big bend with the manual has 4.46 which should be enough for 35s.
Love Love LOVE this video, getting my OBX in a month. But I’m worried, isn’t the M190 axle on the 2.3L too weak to handle big 35’s like that?

@@ExtremeTerrainBronco sorry for video stealing..lol
This is just my tastes of course, but the 37's look like overkill...unless maybe there was a suspension lift. 35's look good.

Can 35s fit with stock wheels or do you need to go with aftermarket wheels to make this work?

Would the crash bars need to come off for a 33.8 tire?
My 22 Black Diamond the bolts on the crash bars are welded. Is that common?
would sasquatch fender flares cover the 35's with the 0 offset?

Stock lug nuts fit with these wheels?
Couldn’t you use spacers to move the bumper forward. Taking in the limit of the plug in fog lights and such.
I suppose you could but it might look a little goofy, depending on how far you push it out. -Justin
