Tip: For all the transitioners, I recommend doing this pretty often for a while because eventually your hair will be able to naturally spiral in a similar way!

@@trendinghotspot8211 when i was starting i remember finger coiling every wash day for like 2-3 weeks. (so i only did it like 3 times) Then one day I wasnt able to do it because i didnt have enought time, and sure enough i noticed it started coiling on its own. It really depends on your hair texture but this is what worked for me. You could try for a few wash days in row, every other wash day, etc. Hope this helped :)
What do you mean by transitioners? (does that mean like trans people or?)

Dude my heart is hurtinggg I used to have gorgeous curls and I keept flat ironing it because I thought it was too poofy and I hated it. And now half of my hair is dammaged and wavy/straight it's growing back curly thankfully but because I keep cutting the dammage off of one side, that side is super short and I'm hella saddddd

My mam used to finger coil my hair when I was little...my nan used to take it to another level! , I remember being sat on the kitchen table in the 1970s while she did it. I used to end up looking like an even more ringleted Shirley Temple, they'd be in layers from the crown..I loved it, but my mother said it looked ridiculous and she would shake them out so they looked more natural.

Jayme, I know how annoying people are when they look at one, and make all these assumption that the person they are looking at are not real, not real curls not real eyes not honest or just not real with our bodies. Please don't let the bullies or the internet trolls take control. Just be you and show that girls or boys who embrace themselves should not be hatet on, and that we have just as much right to be ourselves just as much the one who prefer to do things differently with their body. To tell you the truth I have genes from latin Amerika, and I have very light eyes, and I do have often comments that's says " you cannot really be a latina if you look a bit white." These people care to give hate because they are vampires and are envious. I know this sounds dumb, but that's just the way it is. Choice what to listen.

I noticed that her hair was straight when she brushed it when it was wet. I thought I was the only one that happened to cause when I was younger I had super straight hair so I thought that was why but I feel much better now that I have someone to relate to
You are amazing! I have the exact hair as you. So happy I found you. In Switzerland people are not use to see curls like ours, they even get jealous and girls used to say they are not real. Hairstylists are almost always nasty to me and my hair and do not know what to do with curls. I started my jouney to find out all the tecniques you are teaching on my own for over 20 years now.. I got my curls from my mom and this time I really promise keeping my narural curls and not straighten them!! Seeing your mom I am missing my mom as I am in NY and she is in my homecountry!!! My bottom part by the nape of my neck is 3b and not damaged, but the front part is like 2b and is super damaged
Samee😅 The hair by the nape of my neck is super curly and then up top like the crown is wavy then half way down its curly. But i think it’s because I slick my hair down a lot when doing low buns
I have the exact same problem. It’s very hard to style those damaged parts, with the rest of my very curly 3b hair. I try to fingercoil the front or wear the frontpart up. I can’t wait till I grow it out and can cut that nasty damage!

I am transitioning 10 years of hair damage 🙂 i just hated my curles when i was younger and kept straightening my hair and used kertin and other things to keep it straight. i guess i didn't know how to embrace it or how to handle it mainly because my mom and all of my sisters have straight hair so they didn't understand the nature of my hair or help to maintain my curles unfortunately at one point my hair became soooo damaged to the point that my scalb started to bleed and I decided to take care of my hair and i am actually loving my curles now. your videos are really inspiring and they really helped me a lot Thank you so much ❤️

The bottom part and front part of my hair r super curly, and a very spirally (3b). But my mid section (crown area) is toooooooo frizzy to spiral sometimes so it looks like flat 3a curls!!!

The issue with thiss is that I've high prosity hair especially my roots dry super fast and it could kinda get hard rewetting the roots anyy tips..

Part your hair into a few parts,do it one at a time. If the other part is dry,just wet it when you do them.
do not apply all products at once in all your hair just part your hair in sections and do one by one like this when you move to the next section and feel dry just spray some water before applying your styling products

Im kinda looking for more of a defined and voluminous method. Cant really find anyone who shows how to get both. My hair is really similar to yours. Around like 3a or 3b kinda hair. On the inside of my hair, i have kinky curls. UGH MY HAIR IS SO WEIRD. It gets frizzy a lot too. Not really the inside tho. The inside is really defined. The rest of my hair might be damaged. I literally have no clue. Ive been deep conditioning way more often but nothing is really helping. It performs well but just takes WAY too long. I'll continue either way. ALSO, I've tried finger coiling but it really takes away the volume in my hair. I LOVE VOLUME. I definitely like volume way more then i like definition. I just can't seem to have both. (sorry, had to rant lol)

Hi Yasmin, have you tried clipping the roots whilst its drying? (there are plenty of vids on YT explaining how, Jayme Jo may even have one) It gives more volume by lifting the roots. Also whilst drying, tip your head upside down now and then and sway your hair. Enjoy your curly journey x

Rod rollers maybe. Is it straight due to damage?
To get more volume... you can take a pick and kinda pick it out a bit without running it all the way through. So just at you roots and towards your scalp a bit.

She already did and it looks very similar just a little bit more frizzy.
if you want to get the best results you should always twist your hair in the direction of your natural curl pattern! Some people's hair curls away from their face and some people's hair curls all kinds of directions. If you try to finger coil a piece of your hair in the wrong direction it will come out wonky and unravel on itself. Hope this helps

I've tried finger-coiling one time before and I failed miserably. I think it's because I don't use any curl products in my hair and my hair was probably too dry... Gonna have to buy some curl gel after the quarantine
In the front my hair is always very defined and curly but in the back they are wavy... i can‘t handle this part its always weird compared to the rest of my defined hair and i don‘t know what to do 😭

This helps me so much! I recently stopped straightening my hair, which caused alot of heat damage. Slowly my hair is coming back to normal
there are sections of my hair under my top layer that are perfect coils and the rest is just curly. i wish all my curls were coils
