    I came from the chocolate/milk mantou video. After the first successful attempt (it's a miracle!) at making those, i failed again and again after. I used cups and not a scale... However, now that I finally got a scale and can accurately measure, the mantou turns out great! Very happy that I can finally make it again 😊

      You may use plain flour/all purpose flour, but plain flour is yellowish in colour, the colour of mantou will be less attractive.

      I don't have cup measurement for this recipe, you may try convert using g to cup converter.

    I'm sorry, i live in village where only have all pupose flour sold, can i use that ?

      Yes, you may use all purpose flour, just adjust the amount of water added according to the wetness of the dough.

      May be your dough is too thick, you need to roll out until very thin before rolling up into a rod shape, then the spiral pattern will be clearer.

      Yes, you may use water, same amount as pandan juice.

      You may use all-purpose flour, need to adjust the amount of liquid added, the colour will be yellowish.

    Hi, thank you for the recipe! Cant wait to try. How much pandan essence should i use to subsititute 65g of pandan juice? Also, can i use corn starch instead of wheat starch? Any change in the weight if i do so? Thank you!

      I haven't used pandan essence before, not sure how much. You may try using cornstarch, same amount.

    I tried yr recipe..super fluffy and delicious..but can u adv me why when it is done, the skin is smooth..but after a while, it turned wrinkly. Hope u can adv what actually went wrong?🙏

      If the mantou turned wrinkly when steamed, then you might have oven-proofing it. Proof only for 20 minutes over warm water. Also, make sure you roll the dough as thin as possible so that the air pocket is tiny, the skin will be smoother.

      This recipe use yeast, you didn't proof the dough properly. Follow the recipe as it is and don't make any changes. If your yeast is expired, get a new one. Yeast will stay dormant if the temperature is too low, high temperature will kill the yeast.
