I haven't bothered to follow the problem further because it's always worked. Remember hitting things is sometimes the solution 😅🤣
The root cause of the problem is likely a cracked solder joint on the circuit board or that internal relay and its contacts. It seems to be quite common based on all tge feedback on this video. Thanks for watching.
My 2002 ford f150 had same issue. I was told to check my interior box fuses. A fuse will indicate its good but in reality it’s no good. Check the metal part of the fuse, if it has small circular/square burn marks on the metal, the fuse is no good. My truck power windows interior lights and radio are back in action.
@@Quackk_Addict your gonna have to look at your owners manual Buddy. Start with that and look at the fuse metal pieces. If they have small burn mark squares, the fuse is no good. What I did was a last resort. I checked every single fuse 1 by 1 and replaced them if they looked burned. FYI the fuse tester will not catch the burnt fuses as bad fuses. Good Luck
Just what I needed. Found that I had to keep pressure on the right side connector of instrument cluster to keep the radio on, problem at connector to circuit board.
I have an 05 f250 extended cab. For a couple years now the gauges, the power windows, and radio all quit. Sometimes if I bang stuff around it comes on. Usually I think it’s coincidental. I’ve had it to a couple shops and they can’t figure it out. After charging hundreds of dollars. I have found that if I fiddle with the ignition switch it will sometimes start working. And when it’s off with the key on the dinger usually doesn’t work. I can old the key further in the off position and it will start dinging. Also. Sometimes the dome light will come on when I’m driving for no reason and the tow/haul will come on if I start it and the gauges etc don’t come on at all when I start it. Could this just be an ignition switch issue? One last thing. I’m pretty sure when we bought it used it had a transponder key. Because I programmed an extra key for it. My husband lost them both and I’ve been using a copy door key in it.
It sounds like you have multiple issues one of which could be a faulty ignition switch. The key in ignition reminder is common to malfunction and work intermittently as well. The instrument cluster controls the dome lights so it could be the cause of the random dome lights but so could a door latch switch that changes state with the door closed. I don't believe the F250s had PATS so no transponder in the key. Have you tried a salvage instrument cluster? Should be safe to simply try a different cluster. That's what I'd recommend...good luck.
@@PhillipBailey I have not tried the used cluster yet. I’m considering just getting new because I keep seeing these same issues over and over and would be Leary of a used one. on the black plug pin 25 which is light green/yellow is power out for the accessory delay relay. Pin 22 in the same connector is ignition/accessory power to the instrument cluster. it is Black/Pink. Good luck
Thank you so much for this video!!!!! Been battling this issue for 3 yrs. Occurs a lot now that it is warm and humid in illinois. 2003 f250 super duty 7.3. I will try the fix and keep ya posted.
Well I have the same issue but my blower motor doesn't work either.. just replaced the instrument cluster a few years ago and now no windows or radio or ac in GEORGIA in July😢
Great video! I think I might do this just so they do turn on and off with the key! Would this also make the dome light shut off when the key is turned off as well? Call me a throw back, but I like it when the lights go off when I shut the door instead of when I get to the porch in the rain, turn around and see the dome light is still on so I go back to make sure the door is shut only to have the light go out when I get to the truck! Also, would this make the cargo and dome lights stay on until I turn them off instead of when the truck thinks they should turn off? Thanks again for the video.
I believe this will only affect the radio and power windows. The internal relay in the cluster supplies control power to the accessory delay relay for 15-20 minutes or until a front door is opened. The dome lights and Cargo light are also controlled by the cluster if I'm not mistaken but although triggered by the door opening function slightly differently so I don't believe this modification will alter their operation. HTH
I swaped out the delay relay in the fuse box under steering wheel and have not had any issue since, never had issue with radio it is aftermarket radio i just turn off wired to constant power
Phillip I'm working on a 03 sport trac that's doing this. It started to go off and on.. was doing that and i think also killing my battery. But I'm going to see if wire colors match and try to do this.. hopefully so.. just trying get by until I can get a new panel.
From what I can see briefly looking at the power window circuit it's completely different. The relay is called a power window safety relay and it's under the hood in the battery junction box. It's power side controlled via the Smart Junction Box. Instrument cluster is not involved.
Also check for water intrusion into the central junction box. It's on driver side behind the dash. Actually the fuse box. If the windshield leaks weird stuff can happen due to water in the electronics. If it has a sunroof the drain can leak the same way. Parasitic draw can occur as well. HTH. Good luck
Do you know what is the accessory wire on a 2005 F250? I figured out which wire to cut but I don't know where to connect it. I would really appreciate your help
So i did this trick and now my radio and my window on my drivers side works again but my passenger one doesnt any tips on where i should start looking i have an 02 f250 7.3 super-duty
After briefly looking at the circuit for the power windows on a 2000 F250 I can see it is completely different. This truck uses a GEM module to control the accessories delay relay which supplies power to the window switches. The instrument cluster is not involved. What are your exact symptoms?
Thank you. I followed your advice and the problem persists. According to the 2003 f250 wiring diagram the two green and yellow wires are for the left and right speakers. Splicing one into the black and pink wire as I did failed to work. Any advice?
Cut the light green yellow wire going to pin 1 at the instrument cluster connector. Connect it to the wire coming into the cluster on pin 19 which is black with a pink tracer. Tee the green yellow wire into the black pink wire. This will send ignition switched power to circuit 54 thus turning on the relay that supplies power to the windows and radio. Tape up the cut end of the original green yellow wire leaving the cluster on pin 1 so that it doesn't short to ground. Hope this is clear.
@@PhillipBailey Thanks! Now if only I can figure out how to get to it :-0) I'm thinking about just hot wiring the relay in the fuse panel for the windows instead. Then I can just flip a switch anytime I want to use the windows.
@@2Truth4Liberty It's not that difficult to get to the instrument cluster. Removal of the radio is required to remove the dash trim and you need some release tools. If you could get to the back of the relay center in the dash you could basically do the same thing there. I just don't know what its like to access.
Philip, I've been chasing an issue for years in a 2003 Ford Excursion. Only happens every once in a while. The symptoms are sometimes the radio does not have power. Sometimes the AC does not have power, and sometimes the windows do not have power. It could be one, two, or three of these issue at any given time. Happens a few times a month. It really sucks when the AC does not have power and the windows do not have power in 100 degree Texas Summer. Do you think it is this relay?
When it happens again check the fuses for power. If fuse 23 does not have power you may have a faulty ignition switch. Is it all the functions of the AC that don't work like tge controls are dead or just the AC compressor?
Sometime all three issues, sometimes two of those issues and sometimes just one issue. At first it only happened a few times a year now it seems to be happening weekly. Then all of a sudden randomly it just starts working again. No common cause that I can tell except it happens most often when the car has been sitting in the sun and the interior temp is fairly hot. I’ve taken it to machanic but they haven’t been able to repeat the issue.
@@davidmendez3545 tough to diagnose unless it does it when you have some test equipment on it or at least handy. I'd be leaning towards a faulty ignition switch.
It is possible try finding replacement relay,I have a 03 excursion and recently had a random clicking sound coming from under dash near fuse panel, I located clicking sound just right of steering wheel under radio climate controls is a blinker relay all by itself I'm a plastic cover:/ bracket ot was making a random sound oddly I got 3 different said replacements from auto stores but they did not have exactly same oem part number and when plugged in it also made a clicking sound but more constant like a blinker ticking sound. I found on ebay someone with exact part number of relay and clicking sound gone, I never saw a issue with blinkers only annoying short circuit sound from old relay, so I wonder what condition these relays are being this old, and mine are at use over 500,000 miles driven. My windows are also randomly not working, I think I thought maybe issue is after it rains, but I am seeing more in extreme heat and cold temperatures also. My radio never stopped working, though, but it is also a replacement new radio I connected to constant power not switched off key power.
I would say that the battery saver relay which is integral in the Instrument cluster or the printed circuit in the cluster has failed. I'd recommend bypassing it as I did in this video. HTH
Having this problem with my 99 only when its been sitting overnight and its below 30 degrees. I'll have the check the relay this weekend. Im not great with electronics any tips?
Other than checking that relay and the control pins at it your likely dealing with an instrument cluster printed circuit problem, cold solder joint in the cluster. This modification will bypass the retained accessory relay function in the cluster.
I was curious if this would fix my issue I have an 04 f250 6.0 the cluster radio windows and dome lights quit on me today the cluster said battery I went an bought two new batteries it was able to activate my fass fuel system so 8 could start the truck other than that still no luck with the other
I would suggest to check all the fuses that power in instrument cluster. Since it indirectly powers the radio, power windows and interior lights it won't be able to do that if its not awake itself. Check the fuses. Aside from that you then will need a schematic to check powers and grounds at the instrument cluster. Good luck.
Ahhhhhh i got it thats behind the instrument cluster i was wondering why the plug was white all of a sudden had to go to another video to find out tou was behind the cluster. But thanks alot.. saved my butt.
Sorry that the video wasn't clear. It's one of my early videos and my camera was acting up and I lost a couple clips. At the time I was not aware how common this problem is. Glad you fixed it.
Yes I just confirmed the wire colors are the same. Cut the light green/red wire leaving pin 1 of C220c which is the 20 pin connector and attach the cut wire to the circuit at pin 19 of the same connector which is a black/pink wire. as per the video. should work if this is your problem which seems common. Please subscribe if you don't mind. Thanks
I watched the video several times and I still don’t see what you did to fix the problem. I’m missing something or did you just replace the relay or have to replace a board
At 3:00 in the video I showed what I did at the instrument cluster plug. Cut the green wire coming out of pin 1 and tee it into the black pink wire on pin 19. This will send ignition power to the relay to turn it on. HTH

That sucks you would think the rebuilder would be aware of this type of failure. Either a cold solder joint, cracked trace on the circuit board or internal micro relay. Good luck.
Also everything was fine until I changed out my steering column shifter tube. The windows come on after the seat belt alarm goes off consistently. Didn't even have a seat belt alarm before the column repair. Checked all the fuses. All are good. Am going to check if I see a loose wire or misplaced one some where. Today the radio light came on/time display, yet no radio.
@@eshacooper8741 make sure the ignition switch connectors are properly seated. Do you have power at the wiper fuse. Possibly broken wire inside the column at the wiper switch although this should not affect radio and windows.

@@Bible_with_a_lego_man fuse 41 feeds the instrument cluster from what I can see. Disconnect the instrument cluster. If the short is gone now the cluster has an internal short in my opinion. If its still present with the cluster unplugged it has to be a short in the dash harness. Any aftermarket accessories installed?
I have only had the truck for about a year but they added a security system on it. For about 10 month it was working fine. One day just went out. My fear is that I have a broken wire. Any tips on finding those?
@@Bible_with_a_lego_man It won't be a broken wire as an Open circuit does not cause excessive current flow and blown fuses. Put a headlight in place of he fuse. (across the fuse terminals). Great suggestions unfortunately I haven't been successful with any yet. I have an 03 excursion with no windows ,radio or gauges. The relay jumper procedure works but I would like to have the ignition delay working. I swapped out the cluster with no luck. I do not have any power at fuse 42 , I had no issues until it quit the first time and has never worked since. It was extremely cold when it failed and im suspicious of a mechanical failure in the tumbler system that actuates the accessories. I also have a super duty that had the reverse problem at this time and the accessories would not shut off with the key and the doors open, this began working once it warmed up though. It seems like the possibility of a mechanical failure in the extreme temperatures is a possibility. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.
I cant find fuse 42. Fuse 41 feeds battery power to the instrument cluster as well as 35 and 45. Fuse 33 is hot in run. If you have no power at Fuse 41 see if you have power at 35. If so problem is behind dash Fuse panel. Fuse 41 gets power from a Fuse link under the hood but if it was bad Fuse 34, 59, 18 and 34 would also be dead...
@user-ch4ob5bf1t hello I would suggest if you can't figure out how to access the dash and follow the instructions in this video that you don't attempt this fix. No disrespect meant here. I'd suggest getting help. The relay in internal to the cluster.
The driver side window stops rolling down and I hear a click in the dash. I replaced the relay that is with the fuses. I have had trouble with the power locks working with the buttons and have replaced the the front door lock actuators. I will be replacing the rear door lock actuators in the near future.@@PhillipBailey
@PhillipBailey this is so sad of a design why they did not put in fuse panel I'm going to try window relay first then possibly try the wire change on plug
The proper fix on this would require replacement of the instrument cluster as the relay that controls this is integral and not serviceable. This was a work around. Hope that helps.
Remove the battery saver relay and test for power with a test light on either pin 30 or 87. If one of those is live jumper 30 to 87 and see if the windows work. Connect a test light between 85 and 86 of the same relay. It should light with the ignition on. If not the dash is likely not supplying power or ground.
I had a look at the F150 power windows and radio circuits. The circuit is completely different and uses a Generic Electronic Module (Body control Module) to control the accessory delay relay that should keep the power windows functional after turning off the ignition until a door is opened or the system times out, (around 15 min). The radio is not fed by the same relay so whatever is going on with your truck is not the same as these newer trucks. Tell me exactly what does and does not work and I might be able to offer a suggestion. Let me know what you have done so far trying ti fix it.
@@PhillipBailey Why do you think I don’t have any power to certain fuses in the instrument panel ? I took the dash apart to do the heater core getting everything put back together and I’ve ran into some problems. I had to replace blend door actuator and plug because the other one was burnt up so I rewired them and everything was working great but now that isn’t the case I’ve lost power to my blend door actuator and when I hook up the ignition wires the radio and the windows only work with the key backwards in auxiliary.
@@alexharper9786 sounds like you missed a connector putting it back together. If everything worked prior to the heater core and now that it's back together you have a problem I'd say to recheck your work. Posdibly a connector or ground left off Good luck
@@PhillipBailey Everything is connected where it needs to be connected. I went under the hood and tested all the fuses there and there all good but one Relay terminal isn’t getting no power same thing with some fuses inside the truck the fuses are good but no power at terminal what so ever but the relay itself is good it’s the relay that controls the wipers which I have no power to that along with blend door actuator and the passenger side door light doesn’t have power but everything else does and I still can’t figure out why the radio and windows only work with the key in auxiliary.
The instrument cluster contains a circuit board mounted relay the when the ignition is turned on supplies power to the accessory relay. The purpose of the circuit is to allow the radio and power windows to continue to work for 15 to 20 minutes after turning off the ignition or until you open the door. That internal relay or it's printed circuit fails and does not supply power to the external accessory relay. This modification uses the key switched power going into the cluster to supply power to the accessory relay so the radio and windows work. HTH
how do i do this on the 07 f250 just replaced the gauge cluster but it still dose not work and it’s the cluster with the black and blue plugs and i have a fix but i have to unplug the circuit breaker every time i turn it off or the windows and radio will stay on
The 07 circuit works similar but is wired completely different at the cluster so this will not work. What are the exact symptoms that you have. Put it back to original if you modified the circuit based on this video
Thank you so much!!! So glad I stumbled on to this. I have a 2005 excursion I think this will fix mine as well. Battery is going dead in two days if left to sit do you think this is related?
You need to check for a parasitic draw. I doubt this problem would be the cause unless the relay were to stay on in which case the windows and radio would work normally just not stop working. Is yours gas or diesel, if diesel one battery could be killing the other if there is a bad cell. You need an ammeter to test for a draw.
Phillip Bailey I figured that it was a draw. I was just grasping at straws. Alls good I will do your fix tomorrow. Also I talked to a friend who had exact same problem in his 03 F350 and sent the cluster somewhere in Virginia and they repaired it. He said the cost was reasonable but can’t remember the place.
@@mikejackson6862 I just thought of something, you said that was an excursion? Like an SUV right? Does it have a rear wiper. If so the rear wiper siezes in the glass and can't park but it trying to as its stalled. Does your rear wiper work? Just a thought
Hi I've looked every where and can't find the pinout diagram for my 2006 f250 regular cab xlt what wires would I splice/ where did you find the schematics.
At the instrument cluster connector locate the light green/yellow wire in pin 25 of C220A which is the connector on the right side of the cluster. Cut the wire and attach the harness side of that wire to the Accessory wire in pin 22. This is a black/pink wire that supplies ignition and accessory power to the cluster in the same connector. If you need a schematic give me you email.
This will not affect the gages or speedo operation. If they are working correctly they will function as normal. If they are not working this will not fix the gages. HTH. Good luck.
I'm about to just go ahead and do the same thing on a 2003 f350 super duty with intermittent radio and window problems tommorow. What I like about this mod is that all it is doing is adding voltage to the charging circuit of the relay by bypassing the dash. It isn't just bridging the main power circuit of the relay, it still works through the relay which is safer on a 30 amp window and radio circuit. Will report back if it works, especially if it doesn't lol.
@@PhillipBailey in a perfect world, ford would have a recall or at least give a heartfelt apology for making that relay in the gauges a nonservicable part. And thanks, my uncle has just been living with it, not sure how he can do it in the florida heat. Heh
@@PhillipBailey hey buddy, that fixed it. I just used a blue splice connector and wrapped it in electrical tape. I can't thank you enough, very informative video, seeing the wiring diagram really helped.
Usually an aftermarket radio uses the original supply powers and ground. I doubt this is you're problem. Does the radio continue to play when you shut off the ignition until you open a door? If so the accessory delay relay is working. If not the the aftermarket radio is wired to a key switched circuit.
@@leewaulk so it could be wired to an alternate ignition fed source. Try bypassing the accessory relay in the fuse panel. Remove the relay and jump pin 30 to pin 87. The pins are numbered on the relay.
Then I would say one of two problems. Either you connected something incorrectly or this was not your problem. Does the relay now turn on with the ignition? is there power at pin 30 or 87 of the relay and do the windows and radio work if you jump 30 to 87 at the relay?
Thank you. I followed your advice and the problem persists. According to the 2003 f250 wiring diagram the two green and yellow wires are for the left and right speakers. Splicing one into the black and pink wire as I did failed to work. Any advice?
At the instrument cluster middle connector which is 20 pins you need to cut the wire leaving pin 1 which is light green and yellow and attach the harness side wire to pin 19 which is ignition run and accessory. this is a black and yellow wire. These are the wire colors for an 03 SD. The battery saver relay in the instrument cluster sends power to the Accessory Relay on the Light Green and Yellow wire from pin one. Problem is the relay does not work. Good luck
@@srqsup you're correct 19 is black/pink. It should be live ignition on. Pin 1 is at the other end of the connector and is light green/yellow. If you give me your email I'll send you a schematic.

do you know witch wires I have a 2005 f350 crew cab dually 6.0 a black and blue plug on top of circuit board
on the black plug pin 25 which is light green/yellow is power out for the accessory delay relay. Pin 22 in the same connector is ignition/accessory power to the instrument cluster. it is Black/Pink. Good luck
Thanks, I just did that to my friends truck and worked like a charm.

This fixed my truck thank you! Ford would not give me wiring diagrams.
Did this on an 05 Excursion. Works perfect. And no worries about my battery being drained or $400 dash repair.
Yes it appears to be a very common problem. Glad you got it fixed. You just don't have the retained accessory function now.
Well I have the same issue but my blower motor doesn't work either.. just replaced the instrument cluster a few years ago and now no windows or radio or ac in GEORGIA in July😢
I doubt the blower motor problem is related to windows and radio.
HTH
@@PhillipBailey Thanks for the quick response! Good info to know. Thanks!
I swaped out the delay relay in the fuse box under steering wheel and have not had any issue since, never had issue with radio it is aftermarket radio i just turn off wired to constant power
When this first started happening, a bump would fix it or banging on dash…not anymore…and it does it waaaay more on wet/ cold days
Time for a dash repair or modification...
Phillip I'm working on a 03 sport trac that's doing this. It started to go off and on.. was doing that and i think also killing my battery. But I'm going to see if wire colors match and try to do this.. hopefully so.. just trying get by until I can get a new panel.
I'll have a look at the schematics.
From what I can see briefly looking at the power window circuit it's completely different. The relay is called a power window safety relay and it's under the hood in the battery junction box. It's power side controlled via the Smart Junction Box. Instrument cluster is not involved.
I'd check that relay first.
Also check for water intrusion into the central junction box. It's on driver side behind the dash. Actually the fuse box. If the windshield leaks weird stuff can happen due to water in the electronics. If it has a sunroof the drain can leak the same way. Parasitic draw can occur as well. HTH. Good luck
I'll check it too
Do you know what is the accessory wire on a 2005 F250? I figured out which wire to cut but I don't know where to connect it. I would really appreciate your help
Need more info, crew cab or extended cab. Are you talking about the ignition wakeup wire to the instrument cluster?
Looks like pin 22 black/pink wire should be accessory at the cluster with key on. Confirm it by back pinning with a test light.
Its a crew cab lariat diesel and I have the green with yellow wire in pin one but I dont have a black wire w pink stripe
I appreciate you getting back to me. Your content is great
Did that to my truck today. Simply bypass the battery saver relay. Didn't need it to start with!
Yes it was an overrated option...
So i did this trick and now my radio and my window on my drivers side works again but my passenger one doesnt any tips on where i should start looking i have an 02 f250 7.3 super-duty
Visually check for broken wires between both front doors and body where they flex when opening the door.
My 2000 f250 only has a 16 pin inline connector in place of the one shown in video, which pins do I need to disconnect and reattach?
After briefly looking at the circuit for the power windows on a 2000 F250 I can see it is completely different. This truck uses a GEM module to control the accessories delay relay which supplies power to the window switches. The instrument cluster is not involved. What are your exact symptoms?
Thank you. I followed your advice and the problem persists. According to the 2003 f250 wiring diagram the two green and yellow wires are for the left and right speakers. Splicing one into the black and pink wire as I did failed to work. Any advice?
There are no speaker wires at the instrument cluster. I'll have a look at tge 03 schematic..
3:16 So, cut and connect green (LG/YE) pin 1? to purple (PPL/WHT?) pin 19?
Cut the light green yellow wire going to pin 1 at the instrument cluster connector. Connect it to the wire coming into the cluster on pin 19 which is black with a pink tracer. Tee the green yellow wire into the black pink wire. This will send ignition switched power to circuit 54 thus turning on the relay that supplies power to the windows and radio. Tape up the cut end of the original green yellow wire leaving the cluster on pin 1 so that it doesn't short to ground. Hope this is clear.
@@PhillipBailey Thanks!
Now if only I can figure out how to get to it :-0)
I'm thinking about just hot wiring the relay in the fuse panel for the windows instead.
@@PhillipBailey Okay, thanks, I'll take another look.
FYI - I don't use the truck much so I went ahead and just hot-wired it like this -->

so is that the connector that goes into the back of the fuse box? having same issue on my 03 F250, but only Radio and map lights, no power windows.
This problem should affect the radio and power window. The connector I bypassed at is behind the instrument cluster on the back of it..
@@PhillipBailey yeah my truck is a work truck no power windows so the only thing its affecting is the map lights and radio. Thanks for the info
This relay has nothing to do with the AC imo. You could have more than one problem too. Do all three issues happen at the same time?
Happens with my 2008. I just touch the accessory delay relay under glove box by feet on the right. I kinda nailed it down to cooler weather.
I'm pretty sure a 2008 is different as all the relays and fuses are moved to the Smart Junction Box under the right side of dash.
Any thoughts if I have low power to pin 85? It’s reading about 3 volts
Good work / daig/troubleshooting Phil. Them old stupid duties can be bear at times had my share of them. 👍🏻
Hay thanks fixed a problem my friend has had for months in less than 30 minutes a d couple bucks

I would suggest to check all the fuses that power in instrument cluster. Since it indirectly powers the radio, power windows and interior lights it won't be able to do that if its not awake itself. Check the fuses. Aside from that you then will need a schematic to check powers and grounds at the instrument cluster. Good luck.
Fuses 33 and 45 power the cluster

@@Bible_with_a_lego_man fuse 41 feeds the instrument cluster from what I can see. Disconnect the instrument cluster. If the short is gone now the cluster has an internal short in my opinion. Great suggestions unfortunately I haven't been successful with any yet.
I have an 03 excursion with no windows ,radio or gauges.
The relay jumper procedure works but I would like to have the ignition delay working.
I swapped out the cluster with no luck.
I do not have any power at fuse 42 ,
I had no issues until it quit the first time and has never worked since.

In this case the delay relay is not being turned on by the circuit in the dash
@PhillipBailey this is so sad of a design why they did not put in fuse panel I'm going to try window relay first then possibly try the wire change on plug
Question so how do you fix it the correct way I have the same problem and 03 it’s making me crazy
The proper fix on this would require replacement of the instrument cluster as the relay that controls this is integral and not serviceable. This was a work around. Hope that helps.
Mine is doing that too and I still can't get it to work
Remove the battery saver relay and test for power with a test light on either pin 30 or 87. If one of those is live jumper 30 to 87 and see if the windows work. Connect a test light between 85 and 86 of the same relay. It should light with the ignition on. If not the dash is likely not supplying power or ground.
Do you think this could work on a Ford F-150 it's a 99 mine is doing the same thing

My truck is a 2000 F-150 btw hopefully you can help because nobody else seems to can
wait how did you bypass the delay relay?
This modification eliminates the delay relay function so the radio will shut off with the key and not when you open the door.
I'm confused as to what the solution was
The instrument cluster contains a circuit board mounted relay the when the ignition is turned on supplies power to the accessory relay. HTH

Just outside Thunder Bay in Ontario Canada eh.
Hi I've looked every where and can't find the pinout diagram for my 2006 f250 regular cab xlt what wires would I splice/ where did you find the schematics.

Will the gauges and speedometers work by doing it this way
This will not affect the gages or speedo operation. If they are working correctly they will function as normal. If they are not working this will not fix the gages. HTH. Good luck.
Cross wire from pin 1 to pin 19 wire cluster
I did this on 2002 ford excursion, worked for 5 minutes then it popped the front wiper fuse.
I cant see how these circuits are related. Could just be coincidence?
I'm about to just go ahead and do the same thing on a 2003 f350 super duty with intermittent radio and window problems tommorow.
What I like about this mod is that all it is doing is adding voltage to the charging circuit of the relay by bypassing the dash. It isn't just bridging the main power circuit of the relay, it still works through the relay which is safer on a 30 amp window and radio circuit.
Will report back if it works, especially if it doesn't lol.

@@srqsup you're correct 19 is black/pink. It should be live ignition on. Pin 1 is at the other end of the connector and is light green/yellow. If you give me your email I'll send you a schematic.
@@PhillipBailey thanks it’s srqsup@me.com
@@srqsup sent good luck
