The cheap 5 mods video where did you get the parts from I already got the air filter I like the boost fuller you have
Been running a K&N air filter in the OEM filter box for 15 yrs on my '97 F250 Aug. 11 and newer, and the inside of the turbo looks new with no mods @ 276k with original injectors and glow plugs and I still get 20 to 23 mpg highway. Every oil change the oil gets sucked out of the HIPOP and replaced with synthetic every 3 to 5k miles.
I think most people dislike added music in videos, unless it's a music video. Thanks for making though. didn't know about 2 of these.
A garden hose threads right on the crank case ventilation elbow. Then I routed it to the rear of my cab down the frame rail with some zip ties. Thanks for the video.
A couple things...
1) The boost regulator is to keep the PCM from seeing more than 22-23psi. If it sees that, it'll set the CEL for overboost. I ran a non-wastegated turbo in my 7.3 for years and pegged my 35psi gauge.
2) CCV is NOT bad for the engine at all. The T444E International version of the 7.3 has it vented to the atmosphere, and as long as you don't plumb it into your exhaust, it's fine.
3) I've personally seen dusted intakes on 7.3s equipped with a K&N. Just don't do it. I have since sold my 7.3 (sad day it was), and I now run a 3.5L EcoBoost F150. I have an S&B intake on it -- my latest oil analysis show good filtering. Which leads to...
4) Pull oil samples periodically to see how you engine is doing. Mine always showed perfectly clean air (low silicon) going into the engine, along with other things like wear metals, coolant in the oil, etc. Cheap but excellent insight into what your engine is doing.
+Joe Isabella Very nice thanks for your time to put out some good info.
Joe Isabella you really hit 35psi just by unplugging the wastegate?
Do you think an S&B cold air intake would work well with a 7.3L?
dakota irwin that’s what I have. Very good filters
Oh no trade the 7.3 for Ecoboost :o
You guys should stop making negative comments about this guy no matter what you say he's going to to comment back on you because he's a diesel Master just ask him he will tell you himself
Run the ccv mod to a catch can and then back up to the intake to keep the scavenging vacuum working, it keeps the oil out of your intercooler tubes and still vents the crankcase properly.
Explain please. Benefit to scavenging?
You do know the t444e which is practically the same motor has the ccv ran and dumped behind the block right? The only reason ford routed the ccv back to the turbo was because of emissions at the time?
Best low cost upgrade is a 6.0 Intercooler. I got my intercooler free from a friend that put a larger intercooler on his 6.0 and purchased the connection boots/hoses for about $60.00. I've been running a K&N drop in filter on my 01 for 450,000 miles and never had a issue. You have to make sure you install the stock housing correctly. I've seen where people don't get it on properly and that has causes a lot of issues.
Mobey Dick the 6.0 cooler is a must because the stock one looks like a power steering pump cooler compared to it. As far as air filter I use the Donaldson Blue 6637 from Riffraff. The rest of the stuff he talks about is junk save the cross over mod
I did the flaper delete on mine and that gave me a lot more power. Some guys say that helps the cold start and I havent noticed any difference in cold start.
Do u have a video of how ?
The crank case vent going to the intake helps create a vacuum to lower crank case pressure
At least thats how it seems to work on my OBS
Running engine in negative crank pressure make more HP... Less parasite drag on engine...
I’d like to know the mileage with all these mods. My stock 2002 excursion is now at 490k zero major breakdowns and it has hauled a 25 foot enclosed trailer since about 190k (I know 490 is nothing special, in fact my 95 is at 600k with only one transmission replacement
My excursion has 360,000 miles stock
used a hammer to fit air filter into place
+browniee this is a super old video, was one of the first.
Sorry, but I wasn't aware there was a better way to put on a filter... Like they say the bigger the hammer, the easier to put in the fucking filter that is just to big by a quarter damn inch, but it should fit and fuck it I'm not going back to the store for a third time with another banged up filter cuz they'll make fun of me again.
And Napa... Yes it looked like that when I bought it...
Put a $25 pre-filter sock on that big spendy Donaldson filter and it'll last longer. Doesn't restrict flow if you take it off and wash it once in a while...
The boost fooler doesn't have anything to do with the waste gate. What it does is "fool" the computer .... If the computer reads a boost above 25psi, it "de-fules" the injectors to keep from making excess power (engine damage)..... You can run a paint / airbrush air pressure regulator in line that you first set at 24 psi or so & your good.....
+Jay Dee you are correct, although I do believe it defueling at 22psi. I should had described this whole video a lot better. My truck does way over 22psi and once I installed this is saw a much better performance.
Thanks for the comment though, I've had a number of questions on this video and will be another to correct some of my mistakes
Jay dee can't even spell de-fuel
Jay Dee your spelling and punctuation sucks.
2002 7.3L 1 owner (me) No mods @ 152K and Original Trans, Injectors, HPOP and well cared for.
I could not watch the entire video when I saw that you replaced the Ford factory cold air intake, with a hot air intake.
The air duct not shown that is underneath the factory air box is the cold air feed. I see a lot of people remove that not realizing what it is. This guy may or may not have that but whatever this air thing he did is a joke
As long as the air duct is still ran over there it's still getting some cold air. The 6637 also flows more and catches more dirt.
How did you do the crossover?
Please show the other end of the CRV mod.
omg that Music. ...wtf man
user16821 70s porn music, keeping it classy.
I was just going to reply 70's porn.
If you go offroading, just put a deckplate in so you can seal it off when you want
All cheap mods to do but I donno.... the only ones that make any real sense to me are the intake mods, and me personally I'd just throw in a S&B cold air intake and call it done. After that do a 4" downpipe and exhaust as money allows, and a set of 180cc single shot injectors and have a 7.3 making around 344 RWHP and 727 RW lb-ft. But hey that's just my 2 cents :)
Jay Howe I
A cold air intake, 4" exhaust, and these "single shot 180cc injectors" will add that much Hp? I am asking this as a serious question, not to break your balls. Thank You.
@@ThePete1891 add a good tuner and 350 hp should be easily achievable.
The reason you don't run a K&N is because the oil from the filter causes dusting on the wheel and therefore makes dust stick to the turbo wheel.
Free and effective mod for a little performance
I lost 5 minutes I will never get back. Geez is this a scene
from dumb and dumber
There is no such thing as letting in "too much air" on a diesel. You want as much air as possible going into the engine. K&N is bad because their filters do not filter out everything. That's why S&B is getting more and more reputation.
Money Mac that's what i said.... i said k&n doesn't filter enough. dumbass.
lol thats what he said whats your point?
I was told to stay away from k&n cause they are oiled filters which end up destroying map sensors
Did anyone get anything from this video? I (almost) never bash someone's advice video (because it might be helpful to someone) but (sorry Devon) this was PATHETIC!
I LIKE THIS GUY!
I have just bought 2002 Ford f350 diesel
Um just take the vacuum line off the waste gage and throw a bolt on it to shut the waste gate off completely it adds way more power
More info on this please
@@pedroperez5518 dont do it otherwise it'll set an overboost code most likely and will reduce power
Man that front end looks great…..the grille n lights n bumper. What year is that truck and what year is that front end stuff? I’d sure like to make my ‘02 7.3 look like that.
You’re description on the map sensor control pop off of the wastegate completely wrong... map controls fueling not wastegate pressure.
Ride ON Brother Texas
This is for entertainment purposes only!...
I would recommend getting a new air intake but not the way this guy did it. FYI all motors want cold air going into them not hot ass air from your engine that air filter you put in provides.
Good video
I can't see the use of the zoodad mod w/o the air snorkel to your air filter. If you had a stock filter or ford AIS (which I recommend), then it would make sense to me for the zoodad mod. I know you have the pipe there to kind of direct air, but since you're not directing it to an enclosed area where your filter is how does it help? Once that "cooler air" gets in it heats up with the ambient engine temp before it hits your air filter. What am I missing? Just curious. A side note, to help clean up your CCV mod, unbolt the 4 bolts to the "dog house" and rotate it 90 degrees. That way you can route the pipe against the firewall and it becomes out of sight.
More fresh air to the engine bay = cooler intake air temps.
Hey Devon where did you get your mirrors? What are they titled as? Beautiful truck get back to me plz
I did the 6637 air filter for my 02, but what I don't like is it sucks air in from the hot engine instead of the cool outside air.
Doesn't matter the turbo heats the air up anyways. Compression is friction thus heat. Sounds like you want a better intercooler. Which doesn't hurt.
@@RMS-gl6wl yep, by simply compressing the air in a turbo you are heating it up. It's basic physics, besides it has an intercooler.
Love the videos man keep up the good work
Really good info thanks. Boost fooler lead me too ur page.
Just a few questions.
Oil crossover = are those 2 ports already there or do you have to tap them?
Boost fooler= does extra boost come from both delayed wastegate venting, allowing longer turbo sustain, and % of throttle input or by some means of influence on the turbo itself?
A bit late but the oil crossover is bullshit dont fuck with it and the boost fooler prevents the computer from defueling due to overboosting
The blow by is designed to keep the turbo nice and oily. I think it was made like that for a reason.
All those mods seem like hacks.
Best easiest mod is larger injectors
well, the oil feed and return lines keep the turbo "nice and oily," ccv is for emissions, its a DOT and EPA "regulation"
There is no need for the turbo vanes to be oily at all. You're thinking of the turbo bearings, which are supplied pressurized oil.
Injectors are definitely not the easiest mod. They are under the valve covers. Though not hard to do, it's the (easiest)
I've heard of diesel engines running away because of oil in the turbo. Hmmmm
cool vid!!! keep them coming!
I have used K&N filters for over 30 years on a variety of applications. I have had no issues connected to poor air filtration. Provide us with some proof or test results. Anything good can change for the worse.
the reason I for not using a know filter is diesels need very clean air. and kn filters allow too much soot to enter which can damage the injectors. those filters are fine for gas engines though.
If you hold a k&n up the light you can really see the gaps that dirt can pass through. In my opinion don't use k&n on any diesel, a better alternative would be the S&B or the AFE stage 2
+Seth no I don't drive in soot. I have stock replacements. One is clean and in a bag ready to use, so no waiting to dry.
+Devon Xpress I have held both of mine with a light behind it, before I clean it and after to be sure they are not damaged. I don't see the problem you speak of. Mind you, I use stock replacements, not open type. The open type with the prefilters get dirty really quick. Of all the years and number of K&N filters I've had, never an issue as you describe unless you damage it physically. Mine never get so dirty to even move the restriction indicator. But know this, whenever I can get either brand you recommend in my hands, apples to apples, I am going to compare them.
There is a lot of mix reviews on k&n, the reason i stopped with k&n a few years back i had a 97 7.3 that needed a turbo rebuild before i started doing them myself and the shop had told me that there was excessive wear in the turbo and dirt in the intercooler, so from there i did research and the mixed reviews lead me to just not taking any chances, but since you've had good luck with them i'd stick with it . I personal can't recommend it due to my experience, but i may revisit this in a video on comparing the top brands may make for a good discussion.
Thanks for the comments my intended goal for this channel is to create a video style forum and that can't be done if everyone agrees with each other so stick to your guns and drop a comment on the other videos if you agree or not. Thanks again
My new 7.3 project on my channel, Trying to start my 7.3 won’t wire, had bad batteries, fully charging them, I read if it doesn’t crank fast enough she won’t fire?
That's correct. They also won't fire if the oil level is too low. The injectors for off oil pressure, not fuel pressure
Love the video
Enjoy all your vids man! Sweet rig, I have an 01 as well but am well behind yours in mods but I'm trying lol. Keep up the good vids
S and b cold air intake
Don’t forget to pick the pcv “mod”
0:44 ok leaving bye
The ccv delete is not good for your motor. It allows excessive crankcase pressure. Im sure your thinking yea whatever. Its true though. With it in the factory location the turbo creates a vacuum which pulls the crankcase pressure back into the engine. Venting to the atmosphere is not sufficient. If oil consumption is your issue. Which it shouldnt be unless you have excessive blowby in which case your engine is done anyways, install an oil catch can.
+Colin Leiby I've thought about the catch can, I don't have a lot of blow by but I hate oil in the turbo and the bigger turbos come with the ccv missing from the boots
Im not speaking of blowby yet. Blow by is compression leaking past your rings. Crankcase pressure is the pressure creaked from the spinning of the crankshaft and other moving parts. With excessive crankcase pressure eventually over time you peobably will have blow by issues. This is not an opinion in is fact. Hooking up a magna helix guage will prove it. The older largwr turbos also dont have intercoolers.
+Colin Leiby have had a couple other people tell the same thing, not saying it's wrong just don't like the ccv going into the turbo, I've seen other trucks come stock with venting it to the ground so figured it can hurt. Will be looking into this more to see what other options I could do
I dont see what the problem is. If your, excuse the term, slightly anal retentive i could see oil in the turbo bothering you, but in all actuality its hurting absolutely nothing. The engine oil is not going to burn your impeller unless your iat was ridiculously high and your engine will burn it. Diesels will damn near run off anything. Its being burned in the cylinders with no problem at all. The only oils ive seen damage impellers is people who have over saturated their k&n air filters. The oil is not designed the same so it can burn your turbo out but thats the only time i could see that happening. Im an ASE certified tech and ive worked on Ford diesels the majority of my life. Im not saying i know it all but i can confidently say i know a bit. Like i said if seeing your turbo dirty bothers you look into an oil catch can. Venting your ccv to atmosphere is bad for your truck..... and the environment:)

Boost fooler, lol. Unless you have modded your truck you will gain nothing. And if you do and you get a SES light then get good tunes and all that goes away. K&n had three different filters and guys were stinking the wrong ones in and not getting a good seal. They weren't letting too much air in. User error not filter error. Also your 6637 shouldn't be crushed. Third oil in turbo does nothing to hurt it. The doodad mod does nothing with the cold air intake filter setups. Thats for stock airbox setup. Nice try though.
Yes, boost fooler helps with when pushing more than 22psi. my truck is modded and pushes 40psi. the boost fooler is very important in my set up. Achieving more than 22psi is pretty easy with little mods.
If you are pushing 40 psi you REALLY need to get some custom tunes. They will take care of the ses and pcm setting. You should know this if you are doing videos about this. Just holding you accountable. You may need a boost fooler but it's not needed unless you have a SES light. And if so you need custom tunes, not some BS like canned ts tunes or superchip etc.
+Matthew Espey yeah I need custom tunes and injectors would make the world of a difference.
Do you have a built Truck or building a truck?
Last pickup y2k built to mild specs. Probably 320 rear wheel hp. E99 now and planning the build right now. Stuck between 500 hp and 650 hp. Totally different builds and struggling to pick direction. But i do have allot of friends that are over 500 up to 700 hp. It's what I love............
Matthew Espey
I have a k&n filter that someone installed before I got the truck. Should I remove it? I thought K&N were good filters.
Is that pipe JB welded on? Also the boost fooler doesn’t have anything to do with the wastegate it fools what the MAP sensor is reading.
330k miles on my 7.3 with a K&N from day 1... know your facts
The mirrors look like the new 17-18 f150/superdutys just a fyi but not a 100% sure
Send me more information please
I noticed your retrofitted tow mirrors, mind sharing where you picked those up?
Amazon has them, they are heated and have turn signals on them
Don’t do these things to your obs or super duty, waste of money. The oil crossover is good if you have big injectors and stock Hpop. Boost fooler does nothing unless you are going over 25lbs. The waste gate doesn’t just pop open when your boost goes high. The computer defuels the injectors over 24psi, that’s why you fool the map sensor . When you shift gears or let off the throttle you waste gate opens to blow off the boosted air that the motor can’t utilize. The boost fooler does nothing without injectors. I would not recommend any of these to stock truck. Ccv mod is supposed to help with boot leaks around your IC has nothing to do with the turbo what do ever. Lol this guy has had 586k people watch this.
Yeah I agree with everything except the oil crossover thing. The oil crossover is useless it doesn't need it even if you put bigger injectors in that doesn't change how much oil they need
great video man...I'm just getting into these 7.3's....is that Napa filter by your radiator a fuel filter?
+joe smoe no that's a coolant filter, take a look at the home page lots of videos on upgrades I've done
that's awsome bro thanks for reply !
+joe smoe no problem
+joe smoe if you ever need some help my number is on the page. It's also on the website www.xpressdieselperformance.com
10/4 I outta just get my truck to your shop and pay you to do it....lol
Yikes a hot air intake I wonder why people do those.
Kinda confused on wym by don’t get a k&n considering it’s proven to be the best intake for the 7.3. And by you saying get a cheap intake is you basically telling probably to get an intake that actually will let the little particles into your engine unlike the k&n which allows best airflow and doesn’t allow all the little particles wile giving you the best air flow
They rely on the oil to collect debris. And very fine particles of dirt can get past and sand the compressor wheel. I work at a diesel specific repair shop. I have seen it on countless diesel trucks. Regardless of manufacturer
I wonder if all these mod upgrades are really necessary. ..I just done a standard tune with a ford approved air upgrade. ..I just cruise down the road or im pulling a trailer, not going to the race track.
+Chris Warrick no all the mods I have aren't really needed for everyday truck, does make it nice. Don't waste your money on mods you don't "need"
i get it, to each is own but i am just not that into it.
Is your wastegate line unplugged???
Take the plunger and spring out of the fuel bowl
What does that do ?
Fast way to ingest water into the engine too.
Using an open air filter is not smart.
Too many times I ve had people come in with holes worn into the paper from it just bouncing around.
And, you are pulling hot air from the engine bay. Also not good for production of more power
And do you have any Cummins ?
I've been looking at some boost foolers for my truck, but at the same time, I've been on the fence about it because some say they don't work correctly. What company do you think makes the best fooler for these 7.3s?
I would a mechanical boost fooler, not one that requires you to cut into the factory map sensor. Here is a link to what i now have www.xpressdieselperformance.com/collections/99-5-03-7-3l-powerstroke/products/bd-power-1045996-wgk-wastegate-regulator-kit
If you don't have a ses light it will do nothing. It only fools the pcm.
looking at this engine bay... wowowow like a ferret on meth has been in there. LOL
For the oil crossover do you have to tap it yourself
No the truck already has plugs, just need to remove them and install with the new fittings
hi,how are you?
can i do that on my 97 f250 powerstroke.?
+Alfredo Jaime what are you referring to?
Fuel bowl mods?
Check this video out it helps a little if you still are a little unsure ill do an update
ua-cam.com/video/BipeEzrF0RQ/v-deo.html
Remove oil from turbo!
Hey Devin Express, do these mods apply to the older 6.9/7.3 IDI & the OBS powerstroke, cuz they are totally separate engines. Not all 7.3s are the same 83-94, 95-97, 98-00, & 01-03. They are 7.3 but the engines are totally different I have an older 95 7.3 OBS Powerstroke and am looking for easy mods to boost HP without compromising the MPG/stock injectors. Just sayin.
The video can do fine without the music.
1995 7.3 ford
The best upgrade for the owner of a 7.3 is to trade it in for a 6.7
Backroads Nomad if it suits you then that's all you need
I just prefer the extra power for pulling our boat in the mountains
Backroads Nomad I live at 5200 but drop below 1000 anytime we go to the lake and have to climb up 6&7% grades to get home
6 Speed Manual
Where'd you get the pipes that go from the intercooler to the turbo? Mine have grooves in them from rubbing on the plastic wire loom shield stuff and I think they might be leaking.
+Morndenkainen they are on my website
Xpressdieselperformance.com
whatz up with no new videos lately???
I'm still here and will have some videos up soon, been super busy... But thanks for thinking of me lol. Couple will be up end of the week.
Review on the air dog and some common issues others have been having
can I build a boost fooler from a air regulater, testing at 35psi in and 22 psi out?
+Owen Bucks you can, and will probably work just fine. Have heard some having problems though with the regulators not holding up to the abuse under the hood
BB Donkey the problem with k&n is the material it’s made of is woven like cloth. Most all owners do not clean them properly and the space between the strands widens, if you hold it up to the light you can see the size of the gaps and the entire sun if that is your light source. It’s almost impossible to keep it from happening, but if you do by chance, it does filter better the dirtier it gets. Not a risk I am taking. It will dust your cylinders(mainly cylinder walls on this engine) in short time! Have seen as little as 12k miles in extreme conditions.
First thing I think of with you Zoo Dad mod, is NO! Really! You are providing a pathway for air to divert from the a/c condenser, radiator, powerstering, transmission cooler to then assist in cooling the engine??!! DUDE. Your 7.3 is liquid cooled. Eliminate the Doo dad Zoo Dad Mod. Make sure your heat exchangers, mentioned above, are clean, not leaking, and they have all of the proper air dams installed to divert air through them. Make sure any electrical fans and/or mechanical fans are in proper order. Make sure your radiator cap is functioning properly. Rad. hoses pressurising???? Its important!
I've never heard of anything negative about the zoo dad mod other than allowing water mud into the engine bay, will have to do some checking on this and may have to close mine up if what you say is true
Devon Xpress actually I like the mod for more fresh air to your intake
the air flow isn't to cool the engine, since when has making a direct route to the air filter constitute cooling the motor? Its basically the drag vehicles that run COI and remove a headlight. Its the same principle.
The reason I have the zoodad mod isn't to cool the engine, it's to get as much clean fresh air to the intake. and yes like the drag truck/ cars do the same thing only on a larger scale. is also similar to a long ram intake that gets out of the engine bay for cooler air.
yes, OP was implying other wise. Love the video thus far!
1995 7.7 won't start
on the stock map sensor hose where it plugs into that metal elbow under the turbo is there supposed to be a rubber boot that hold that elbow in? my falls out very easy.
Anthony Maffie Loctite292 or something of similar nature.
Was that turbo kit you are using in this video off of eBay or Amazon for about $350?
+Tim Meltz I'll have to look back I've swapped out a couple times, but was a 4" housing with new bearings and a billet wheel that came with it.
Sorry but the ccv modification is dumb. It pulled the extra pressure in your crabk case out. Without it your gonna blow seals.
Your truck runs on oil for Christ's sake
Didn't remove it just vented to atmosphere instead of burning it for some reason
Hey I have a 2001 Ford f350 dually 7.3 what would be the best upgrade for it?
Joel Estremera best upgrade is to sell the Ford and buy a dodge
Php hydra-straight pipe done
Backroads Nomad your telling me a powerstroke is easier to work on then a 12 v straight six give me a brake
Backroads Nomad there will never be a point in time we’re a all mechanical straight six is harder to access than a v8 electronically driven engine
Original comedy or did u borrow this material?
I noticed the crossover in the link is made different from the one in your truck. is there any big difference?
+Anthony Dominguez many different designs all do the same thing no real difference
10-4
how much of a power increase all together will these mods provide??
Altogether not looking at much, will increase air flow over stock and motor will run smoother with the oil crossover. I haven't regretted any of them
I did the intake mod it made alot of difference in acceleration and in quietness
What is the purpose of oil cross over ?
+Richard Chamberlin oil crossover helps quite the motor a little and allows oil to easily go back and forth to each head because of the shorter distance
Ok Thanks
As much as I wanted to see the video. I had to leave. And comment because the music was so painful. No music is needed for this
more info on the mods.
+David Martin boost fooler helps keep power from defueling over 22psi of boost, air intake allows better air flow and volume that the truck demands, zoodad mod just allows more air flow under the hood, my reasoning is that the cooler the air the better the performance allowing cooler air under the hood, oil crossover over allows oil to pass from head to head with better ease
Devon Xpress but is there any instructions or do I just start pulling and installing stuff
+David Martin oh okay I'll give you detailed instructions on it
are most boost fooler "controller" adjustable?
+neodyman the mechanical ones are, but you don't really need to adjust them since they usually come ready to go. I haven't had good luck with mine. Thinking mine is set wrong
That boost fooler u got there is a air regulator. U can get them at any parts store, including harbor frieght lol
Where did you get those mirrors?
This is the closet i can find, the mirrors i have look a little different because of the 45 degree cut on the side. I can't find the style i have anymore www.ebay.com/itm/For-99-02-Ford-Super-Duty-Side-Mirror-Power-Heated-NO-Signal-Towing-Mirrors-PAIR-/291422248688?fits=Year%3A2001%7CModel%3AF-250+Super+Duty&hash=item43da1e9ef0:g:xJkAAOSwpDdVHQzf&vxp=mtr
what all is needed for the boost fooler?
simply just the fooler, your stock system has a solid hose that runs from the map sensor to the turbo base. a fooler is a 22psi regulator that tells the map sensor its only receiving 22psi. I've had several comments on this one a should have explained it better. a stock truck and turbo usually put out around 17psi or so when you start adding mods its easy to increase this so and psi over 22 will throw a over boost code the fooler helps this and keeps the waste gate closed longer.
here to help
closed longer to increase boost numbers, ill have a video covering more boost related tips this week

Will any of these modes be detected during your yearly vehicle inspection? Now that A**hole California found another way to tax my 7.3. Don't want to get dinged
+Grey Woodruff I can't answer that, here it doesn't really matter what we put on our trucks
Devon Xpress thanks for the reply. I must of missed it, but what exactly do these modes do? The oil cross over is pretty obvious, more HP, better gas mileage?
Can you register in another state? I grew up near the Oregon Border, and hardly anybody ran a Calif. plate. Town was to small to have a Police Station though. They did come through on occasion however. I live in Western Washington now, and we don't have smog here, but we have a Navy base. I say that because military men do not have to change their plates. So if you have a base nearby, register in a state with no smog, and put a big "U.S. Navy" sticker on, keep hair short, and then don't break any of the small laws. My 7.3 turned 20 this year. Yours can't be too far behind. Is 20 years still exempt in Calif? I am sorry this country has become so much like N.Korea. Good Luck
Yeah. If you live in Kalifornia you probably ought just not modify your truck. Or, you know, live some place better.
fwiw, I think one must actually be in the military - not just living near a base, and then register out of state
disorganized and no info on what performance increase is.
I'm looking to get the boost fooler but if you have gauges, ( which I do ) will the boost not be shown correctly anymore with the boost fooler installed?
+Brandon Ruhl no the boost footer won't change the boost pressure to the gauge, it only fools the computer to thinking it's less than 22psi
+Devon Xpress awesome! that's the only reason I've been holding back from getting one, I didn't wanna be pushing 30+ pounds on a wot and then BOOM cause my boost gauge wasn't showing right lol and I'm sick of the CEL showing up on WOT. do you prefer any certain sites for getting one? or should I just search " 2003 7.3 boost fooler" on Google?
+Brandon Ruhl look in the description I left couple links where I bought the stuff.
have a 97 7.3 Powerstroke. would the boost fooler work for my truck as well? only says years 99-03 figment. thanks
Just pull the vacuum line off the wastegate
All done very cheap too. All things you don't want to see when you buy a used truck
The crankcase vent mod is a dumb idea it is not going to save your turbo first of all I was just going to make a mess under your truck why not put it back through the system Ford made it that way for a reason and they're a lot smarter than you
You need to look up runaway diesel engine. It happen when to much oil is collecting in the intercooler and charge pipes. See who's smarter now
@@user-dn6qy1ou1f I know what a runaway is and I know how it happens. I'm not a fucking dumbass. Its Only gonna push enough oil in the intake to fill the intercooler and cause a runaway if you have extreme blow by from worn rings. See who is smarter now dickhead
Music is too too much!
What's the benefit of the CCV bypass? I understand the benefit on a spark ignition engine, but on a compression ignition engine?
Keeps tons of oil out of your turbo and intake, but comes at the cost of venting blowby directly into the atmosphere, which isn't good either.
Hey man, I've just started a channel about my 7.3. It was stock, added the 6637 filter and am planning to build it up slightly. I'll be throwing on a straight pipe, chip, and gauges. It's got the ZF6 manual, which exhaust and chip would you recommend? Stuck between the mbrp and diamond eye both 4". Potential chip either TS6 or hydra. Anyone's input would be appreciated, check out my channel and let me know where I can improve as well! Thanks. Let me know if the shoutout isn't fine, I'll wait and leave upgrades questions.
LifeOfChief since im the first to reply.... I'm running a diamond eye 5 inch with a TS and a s&b intake. With that said, the truck really has a hard time putting the fuel to it now. Will upgrade to baby swamps next. It's a 96 CCSB with a ZF5
anybody else just pull the wastegate line and just run it sealed.
Yuh bruh, works great until you stretch your head bolts and blow your head gaskets.
won't this cause surging and that's bad right? sounds like curly on the 3 stooges whoop whoop whoop
