@@TechplantChannel To be honest, doing an indoor dormancy with Flytraps is one of the easiest things 😉. A couple of days ago I got my first serracenia, Venus flytrap and Pinguicula agnata. I have a question about serracenia. It's very similar to the one at 8:40 but it's beige and has less red. I would like to ask you if there should be water in the trumpet or if this would be capable of rotting or destroy it or in general if it would be wrong something like that.
really nice sundew collection. But the flytraps don't look healthy. The inside should be completely red or almost completely red. Do you have the flytraps and sarracenia outdoors or indoors? They are supposed to be grown outdoors.
I have a question. I bought sundew seeds that were packaged on 02/2019 I bought it in February 2020 I've had them planted for about a month now and they show no signs of growth. Were the seeds to old or do they need more time to grow? Love your videos by the way!
What did you put them in? I started some capensis seeds from one of my plants and i just sprinkled them onto some peatmoss and soaked it all with distilled water and put a humidity dome over them and they all sprouted. Im not sure how long other species take. ALSO depending on your species some seeds need to sit in the refrigerator for like 3 months. If you get one its a lot easier if it gets good consistent light all year long from some kind of electric light source (unless you live really close to the equator) then keep its pot in a bowl of DISTILLED water. as for feeding lots of people make a gallon jug of maxsea fertilizer and you just put a drop or two on the leaves, be careful not to put fertilizer in the substrate. too much and your plant is toast. I mean if it catches lots of flys thats good enough too.
they can you just have to feed aggressively so they can get plenty of energy to bounce back. another good reason to always be taking cuttings to propagate!
I have just started with carnivorous plants and grow them indoors and I have one BIG question, what about dormancy? Nepenthes I know don't need it, but I have Sarracenia ,VFT and Drosera. What do I do with them in winter? As I mentioned I grow them indoors , I have them under good lighting and in high humidity and warm temperature. I read that if some carnivorous plants don't get their dormancy they will weaken and die. How do I prevent this? Do i trim them and put them in my fridge? I don't want to put them outside because winters here in Finland will get too cold. I would really appreciate the help!
hello. i just got 1000 watt grow lights (people said it prolly wasnt 1000 watts. but i couldnt find power consumption info) how far should my plant be away from the light?

I want them, i see tons of pics but their care seems tough and i dont understand them. ill do some reserch tho, because the blooms are spectacular from the pics ive seen!
@@TechplantChannel Here's all ya need to know ( i have a bunch of them): 1) Water. Only use distilled or rain water, but Aquafina or any other water undre 20 ppm should be fine. 2) Soil. then keep its pot in a bowl of DISTILLED water. as for feeding lots of people make a gallon jug of maxsea fertilizer and you just put a drop or two on the leaves, be careful not to put fertilizer in the substrate. too much and your plant is toast. I mean if it catches lots of flys thats good enough too.
@@TechplantChannel Thank you. 😊
Can they eat candy??? I am kind of curious about that.
maybe
Which one eats roaches
some pitcher plants can be big enough to eat a roach
where to buy
facebook groups and ebay
You have the coolest plants. I read that these plants tend to die when they flower/seed. Have you come across this issue?
they can you just have to feed aggressively so they can get plenty of energy to bounce back. another good reason to always be taking cuttings to propagate!
You look like brandon woelfel lol..
Great to see your collection. The pitcher plants are so tall and look like the core can't hold them. Amazing! I Love the Sundews and the fly traps!
if you ever want to try your hand at sundews let me know i can give you some
❤️
HI. any possibility to talk you into sending some seeds to Norway?
I dont have an export license, im sorry
hello. i just got 1000 watt grow lights (people said it prolly wasnt 1000 watts. but i couldnt find power consumption info) how far should my plant be away from the light?
really hard to say without knowing the wattage, but just put your hand on the plants and see if you feel a lot of heat if not its probably good but check on them every hour or so
Techplant they feel normal. Not too hot not to cold. Should they feel a little warmer than usual?
nice video, can you tell (in description at least) with light user for each time of plant it will be nice to get the info
ill try and make a video about it
Can this plants survive their whole life in a little pot or is it necessary to upgrade to a big one?
They stay very small so you can keep em in a small pot
R.I.P my garage
lol
Highly reccomend utrics :), especially terrestial ones. They're tiny, cute, with orchid-like blooms, with easy care too.
I want them, i see tons of pics but their care seems tough and i dont understand them. ill do some reserch tho, because the blooms are spectacular from the pics ive seen!
@@TechplantChannel Here's all ya need to know ( i have a bunch of them):
1) Water. Only use distilled or rain water, but Aquafina or any other water undre 20 ppm should be fine.
2) Soil. Either use only peat/perlite, or just use pure preserved spaghmum.
Don't let the freeze, or get too hot (room temp is fine). That's pretty much it.
I'm pretty sure Carnivorous Plant Resource has some nice info.
@@sedumzz3289 I really like them as I live in the tropics and you can just chuck them into the pond and they will breed like crazy
@@kaikart123 Wow! When the bloom, it must be crazy to look at!!!
@@sedumzz3289 and they also help controlling mosquito population too, so it's a big win. U. vulgaris is one of the best aquatic plant.
Where to buy them

A collection for a year...........! Big wow!
i have the trocero capenis sundew plant
I just found your video, and really enjoyed seeing your collection! I am relatively new to my collection. I have kept my two pitcher plants alive for a couple years - my husband says it is because he took over watering. I just ordered 3 sundews from someone online. A Drosera Capensis - red, one albino, and a Drosera Binata. None of them look well! I am not sure what to do.
lots of light and distilled water, make sure the light cycle is consistent and long
@@TechplantChannel We just got back after a week away, and they are perking up! There is new growth!
What soil mixture are you using for the carnivorous plants?
pool filter sand, peatmoss, sphagum moss. I dont like peatmoss anymore becuase its so acidic it was burning my sundews
@@TechplantChannel
Thanks!
I recently found wild sundews on my parents property in FL. Hoping to take one back to PA with me. Any tips for transport?
如何防止发霉
Thanks for watching
With your venus fly traps keep them barley damp in winter because they NEED dormancy or they could die they also like to have cold weather in winter
Smoke it
lol
cool one
thanks for watching!
Do you have a propagation video for your sundews?
not yet, but I will, ive propagated ton just chucking leaf cuttings in a small thing of distilled water and leaving them under lights for a month
Nice
Thanks
I love this!!!
Thanks! Will you try and buy some?
@@TechplantChannel I already have three Mexican pinguiculas but as a kid as used to have a lot more of different kinds of carnivorous plants and trying to do that now
Is red your favorite color? Haha nice collection
lol, they all kinda turn that color if given enough light
Drosera binata is really good for fungus gnats. I haven’t tried to grow a capensis yet but soon enough I’m going to try!
