- HOW Is THIS Even POSSIBLE With RESIN?! A Video by Daniel Cooper
Hi all, In todays video we re-visit The Resin Art Vortex Marble! This technique is used in glass art... Have a search up on here, you will see some absolutely crazy pieces! I have always wanted to bring the effect to the Resin Art world.
I first tried this technique with Resin in #97 and whilst I achieved a good marble, it had some major problems and was not the easiest of ways to create the effect. I have since re-visited it several times and each time had a little better success, this is where I am happy to call this a MK.2 prototype, which we can actually wear as a pendant.
This Resin art effect is insane and much easier to create!

This looks fun. I'll need to give it a whirl. Do you think that nail polish would work in 2-part resin as well?
Thanks, I managed it in #127 😊😊😊
As long as you keep in mind that the polish he is using here is a uv cure resin in itself and will not cure in a 2 part cure resin. I'd recommend making the back with 2 part separately, allowing it to cure, then adding the desired effect to the outside and then blacking out afterwards👍
That is absolutely awesome I'll definitely give that a go
Now you just need a tiny TARDIS in there!
OMG! YES! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Could you put tiny dots of silver in there and make stars too maybe?
Sorry, what is a TARDIS?
😂 yup
@carolthorburn2970 it is a character in a British show called Doctor Who. It is his time traveling police box.
This is sooo pretty. I love that you keep pushing the limits of what can be done with Resins. Dan Cooper, I thank you and your creativity ❣️😊😊😊
Thanks so much Deb 🥰🥰🥰
You can still use the ring light as an overhead light, get a large piece of white opake (bendable) plastic and attach it to two of the edges. (Like an onion ring sitting on a hotdog bun.) It will keep the intensity of the light but break up the ring of light in the reflection we and the camera see.
Wonderful, and held together they look like the eyes of an Owl 🦉 😍
Thank you 😊
That depth is crazy! Gorgeous...
Thank you 😊
Very Nice!!!! Love the fact that you can have your own space, now.
Thank you 😊
❤🎉 This turned out incredible. Keep experimenting and exploring, I've got a feeling that you'll find a way to fully unlock this illusion ❤❤❤
Thank you 😊 Yes, it's only a matter of time 🥰
(This is Mikes other half... I love that going to try that right away. I do others kind of like that and what I found when holding it with the plyers is to wrap the handles of the plyers with a rubber band it holds the plyers closed super tight and then you don't have to keep a strong grip and take a chance of dropping it. Might help when do that as then you can spin it to get the resin even all the way around before putting it under the light. But so, loving all the cool things you keep coming up with, Thanks for all the cool things and new ideas. Just love watching your videos. I follow you on Facebook and as soon as I see you have some new video up, I'm already announcing it in the house.
Thanks so much 🥰 Yes, another viewer mentioned the rubber band, great tip and will definitely try it 😀
Really stunning.❤Once again Daniel you have left me in awe.
Thanks so much 🥰 Live how these came out, I made a few 😂
Wouhaou !!!! encore une merveille , tu es trop fort Dan , on se sent tout petit devant ton travail !!! Merci beaucoup pour le partage 🥰🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Claudine 😊 🫂
Hey Daniel! I have a tip...of course I do lol, when you grab the peice with pliers ready to dip? Secure your plier handles with a rubber band, it will enable you to spin the piece perfectly, no drips, no thick parts...nice and even, also heat the resin in your dip pot, quick blast with a heat gun, it makes it run a little looser. The pendant is gorgeous and I appreciate you taking the time to perfect it xx
Thank you, yes, will try and remember this for next time 🥰
@@daniel..cooper We'll have to get you a remberall for christmas lol x
Made it!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

@@daniel..cooper guess what I've made today... It's way easier than the amount of steps make it look to a layman Adam says. Today has been pure ace DC. Got tickets to see Crowded House in Halifax in June 💪 🤜. Hope yours was good? X

My pleasure 😊 Thanks Maddie 😊 🙏
Just GORGEOUS, Daniel! 💕👍 They have such mysterious depths to them. Wow! I wanna make one...or ten. 😁
Hey...can you try a few swirls with interference powders? Mix with a tiny bit of UV, swirl it and see what effects it has with a black background. Might look really cool combined with the gel cateye nail polish. Might even try to get those galaxy cloud effects among the cateye swirls!
Thank you 😊 Yes, will try soon and maybe get a different effect 🥰
Oh wow! That's incredible! You come up with the most amazing ideas!
Thanks Paula 😊 🙏
Brilliant... very clever Daniel.. well done! So beautiful ❤️😊❤
Thanks Cheryl 😊 🙏
Wow wow wow, these are amazing. You think of the most brilliant things to experiment with.
Thank you 😊
So freaking awesome! You are the Einstein of resin.
Thanks Cynthia 😊 🙏
You can also do the half sphere, then put that into a sphere mold to complete the sphere with black as well. Just a beautiful effect!
Love this! It pulls you in with its hypnotic stare 😵💫. Thanks to your videos, I've decided to have another go at playing with resin. I'm still at the Kindergarten stage, but it's definitely a start. 😊
Yay! Welcome back to resin 🥰
@daniel..cooper Thanks Daniel 😊
Absolutely beautiful 😍 ooooooh I need to try this. Thanks again for another great video love watching you create. Those colors are mesmerizing so beautiful. Hugs from Québec Canada 🫂👍😉

Thanks Linda 😊
The bubble looks like a planet
Yes 🥰🥰 I may try adding little planets to these but they would need to be soooo small as the magnification is so intense 🥰
Well crap. Now I'm not going to get anything on my To-Do list done because I'll be playing with resin trying to get one as cool as yours!!
Ace! So simple yet complex. Great results, can’t wait to try it! X
Thank you 😊 Have fun creating 😊🥰
That is amazing. I love the swirls. Great job!!!

Hi Daniel! Wow: it's fantastic! Gorgeous!! 🫶🏻🙌❤
Thanks Sabina 😊 🙏
This is exactly what I was thinking few days back with my own resin work! I absolutely need to give this a go, thank you!

That turned out just stunning!. 😍
Thank you! 😊
Wow, that is an amazing illustration. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks Bob 🥰🥰
Dangggg that’s amazing 🤩 loving the galaxy effect ❤❤
Thanks as always 🥰🥰
Suggestion for the light issue, a difuser made from opaque milk bottles would probably cut the glare, also maybe a large silicone mat for the table, nice work 👋
Thanks, I will sort something 😊
WOW!!! It's absolutely stunning!! 🫶
Thanks as always 🥰🥰
Absolutely fantastic Daniel.🎉
Thanks so much 🥰
Stunning work and very cleverly done. Keep up the amazing work as always Daniel 😉

@daniel..cooper always a pleasure.. I have some cateye nail polish I may have to have a go lol. In fairly new to youtube so learning alot of little technique hehe. If I make a video do I just mention yourself for my inspiration?
@dandaresin Awesome, yes, you can do that if you would like. If you tag me with an @ i get a notification so I can check it out 🥰
@daniel..cooper yes of course. Its always polite to name the person who's inspired a make or design... so would be a pleasure to. I'll have a go tomorrow as will be my 1st video and I'm very nervous lol 😆
@dandaresin it's terrifying but the more you make, the easier it gets, we have a great community too 🥰🥰🥰
This is so cool. lol I was experimenting yesterday with a similar concept - you’ve now pointed me in the right direction. Thank you 💚🇦🇺

Ohh wow!! I just love this effect!! It looks amazing 😊
Thank you 😊 Such a crazy illusion 🥰
@daniel..cooper instead of the black nail varnish on the back, could you not sink the 'marble' into some black resin instead of clear? I really do love this effect, I created something similar using the metallic mica powders and alchol inks. The gold mica with turquoise ink looked stunning 👍🏻 love your experiments. Picked up a lot of from watching them 😊
Sooo coool loove it 😍
