I love the pistol idea - the comparison to the TF2 spy is super accurate, and in that game, Spy is balanced by having relatively some of the weakest weapons available, requiring stealth and finesse to blend in. It’d be crazy for Spy to have access to a rocket launcher or a minigun in a disguised state
Literally just pay attention. I don’t think this is as much of a problem as people think it is. The game yells at you twice saying there’s a sleeper agent.
All you young wipper snappers finally experiencing something that punishes you for not paying attention brings a smile to my face. Back in my day when we had to go to school uphill both ways you were punished because you didn't check your corners. You were punished because you didn't notice your aim suddenly slowing way down when you swept over a bush. You were punished repeatedly because you didn't watch your killcams and adjust to what your enemy was doing. You were punished for not spending any time deconstructing a map and getting shot from weird angles you weren't expecting. Except sadly most people never learned these lessons and just complained. Maybe the sleeper agent is the devs giving the player base a stronger hint. "Hey dumb dumb, since your eyes are glued to the mini map more than your surroundings maybe this mechanic will walk you down the path of being more aware."
Literally the only fix I can see happening is not changing the character you are when using it. The point of a sleeper agent is to just appear friendly not actually look like your teammate. That in general was too much and doing just the name alone was all it needed. The voice chat with the enemy is nice and helps with the facade. The only other thing I can think of is it should open up friendly fire so it helps people be more convincing while used but you get negative points for doing so. It'll add to the confusion and make it more tactical to use.
I don't know on one hand I feel like it'll be big gimmick item that isn't always useful but when it is it'll be really useful.. and then on the other hand with how often I've seen people shoot their teammates in MW2 and 3 it makes me feel like more often than not people will get revealed by pure accident. Which will probably be pretty frustrating for the sleeper agent
I wasn't on board with the pistol idea at first, I thought if that was the case then the charge rate should be a little faster, but then you brought up amplify and dead silence at the end and I think that sounds great. Love the scrambler idea too. Also as an MnK player I don't really see the lack of aim assist against sleepy agents as a big deal tbh. There are other ways to counter it by just paying attention to the minimap, or using Vigilance which I already do anyway.
I feel the pistol idea would work well on core to make the perk just a gimmick. It wouldn't work too well on hardcore given all of the things hardcore takes away from you, along with pistols being the best weapons in hardcore. I'd almost say ban it from hardcore if possible.
You really hate 9 to 5ers huh? My input is it should be a revolver knife combo and there should be a very visible cigarette in the player’s mouth. This is obviously for the reference. Alternatively it should pull out whatever pistol you have equipped so you have at least some choice over what you get. Watch as they do this and add an absurdly overpowered pistol to the game.
I don't think Boom hates 9 to 5ers. I just think he's annoyed at the specific type of gamer who can't pay attention and then complains on the internet about a perceived error in design. But he's probably *more* annoyed at players who want to coddle these types and start discussions online about how certain mechanics are bad because they're not accessible to people who can't even slow down and think.
I rolled that 20 in PRE a blue nametag came around the corner and i hesitated for a second but something said shoot in my head and i blew him away dude was probably pissed.
Yeah, the moment they mentioned this upgrade I knew it would be a problem. It doesn't matter if they find a way to balance it. The issue is not about being "too powerful" (although that's also a problem). The core issue is that it will never, ever not be completely infuriating to die to someone who looks like they're on your team. Just a really dumb thing to include
Feel like the DM10 has the shittiest default scope for how much shake and recoil it has, and that's why people are mixed on it. Add a 2x or any other optic and it feels significantly better to use since you often don't need the zoom and if you do just use the SVD.
I think it’s fine I tried it and it was super fun and when u shoot it exposes you so you have to run a knife or suppresser. It’s just fun we don’t need to ruin everything fun that comes to CoD
Sleeper agent is just never going to be properly balanced, the devs even admitted that they were too stupid to think about how this will destroy hardcore lol. It’s a gimmick as it is and an incredibly frustrating one to die to.
Not sure how well this will translate to HC modes. Also, I somewhat disagree with your whole not dumbing down cod for casuals take because it's the most popular game for normies, so they have to take that into consideration while adding anything peculiar.

They should disable that message, makes it more fun.

It’s funny to me because if you’re staring at the map you should be able to recognize the false teamate but hey common sense isn’t common 😂😂

Causally changes height, gender, body type, and ethnicity from reading a book.

TF2 leaks into Call of Duty once again.

Just remove it from core too

I AGREE
Peak reference is they make an OP pistol that NOBODY uses because they wanna use the other one thats "cooler". IE Ambassador and Diamondback.

He hates literal children. Most 925 guys just go to a different game if they don't like it.
Also dm 10 has to much recoil for a 3 shot kill and the range for a 2 shot kill is to inconsistent
Dude I could not agree more especially since nothing is stopping them from just picking up a weapon as the secret agent
I rolled that 20 in PRE a blue nametag came around the corner and i hesitated for a second but something said shoot in my head and i blew him away dude was probably pissed.
