It’s the sweetest story about two people who got separated but never really stopped loving each other and then stumble into each other’s company again and!!!! It’s so beautiful. I think you’ll love it. It goes by really quick, I read it in a day.
Get past the first 100 pages and Carry On is incredible! I was so underwhelmed until about page 200 but even then I still enjoyed it. It just becomes a 5 star read around that time. Push through because it really pays off!!
Thank you so much, Hailey, for thinking about us in the "front row" in these Corona times - it means a lot 🙏❤️ again, thank you for a absolutely lovely video. Love it! 📚

Disney readathon!!! Yes please!! I LOVE Disney! ❤️ Edit: please read Kingdom of Ash, it was such a great ending! She really did a wonderful job concluding everyone storylines. And Crescent City is really great too! I had a lot of fun with it!
I'm re-reading Carry On by listening to the audiobook. Also, a really whimsical fairytale to try would be East of the Sun and West of the Moon. The heroine is so strong!
East of the Sun, West of the Moon is one of my favorite fairy tales! It also has some amazing retellings, including East (and its sequel West) by Edith Pattou.
Gone with the Wind is my dad's absolute favorite book, like he has probably reread it a hundred times. I've been working through it for over a year. We love talking about it but I have to break it up with other books of different genres or I burn out. It is a really good story!
Haily, When you were growing up did you ever read any of S.E. Hinton’s books like The Outsiders, or That Was Then This Is Now? She was a great author to read when I was growing up.
Cheer Ads Erh I hated the Outsider’s. I mean it’s great that so many people like it but I do not. Probably because we had to read it for school and that sucks. Idk I just really really hated it 😂
I'm currently reading Anna K. and I'm also enjoying it. There's a lot of drama, and it follows multiple characters at once, but it's not so much that it's impossible to follow along their drama. I want to read Sanderson! I have a sample of Skyward on my Nook to read, but I haven't started it yet. I have a sample of Ember in the Ashes too. I loved what I read of Caraval! I haven't finished it yet because I want to get the hardcover boxed set that we have at my store. There are so so so many books on your list that I have on my TBR!😆
I haven’t read Gone With the Wind but my friend recommended it to me. She said even though it’s huge, it’s simple writing and pretty easy to get through
Gone with the Wind is ALSO one of my favorite books of all time & it is... excellent. Truly one of the most vivid & engrossing novels I’ve ever read. It’s challenging in many ways, but wow is it so worth it. I truly can not recommend it enough. Your friend has good taste! & I’ve also heard that the audiobook is fantastic. I started to read a chapter a night/little by little until I got absolutely obsessed. The characters are so singular & unique & flawed. Ah! I could go on forever. Please pick it up!
Don't sleep on Steinbeck. I think I've heard 1 person mention him in the 8 years I've been watching booktube. Easy to digest and a lot of his books are short.
Same experience with Mistborn. It took me a year to finish it in between other books but I just did because of the quarantine. Hopefully you'll read it!
I bought the book two years ago and never picked it up till this quarantine, I just really wanted to read it but I was overwhelmed by the size, and English isnt my first language so I was scared I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I said fuck it and finally picked it up two weeks ago and I loved it sm
@@xyhanx kinda same because *SPOILERS* I'm gonna miss kelsier so much😞 And also I didn't know they will defeat the lord ruler in the first book... what will the plot be in the second one? I'm intrigued but also confused because it felt like a standalone book.
@@lisak8492 What I can remember is that the Lord Ruler in the 1st book was a fraud named Rashek. He stole the true Lord Ruler's position. Did you miss that part or I need to recheck what I read? 🤣
@@xyhanx what I got from it is that Rashek IS the lord ruler, the hero of ages was supposed to save the world from the deepness and be granted a power (that I think might just be allomancy itself) and Rashek got jealous and hated him so he took the power for himself, so that's why he was both a Feruchemist AND an allomancer. I really want to read Mistborn but I'm scared I won't be able to get into it because of how dense I hear it is. Also, you HAVE to get to the Last Magician! My favorite read of the year so far, I can't recommend it enough.

Your classic TBR is fantastic!! Yes, I heard Carry On is not for everyone. I also felt this was a strange thing during the beginning of the book, but there was this one point in the story that changed everything and I am HOOKED FOR LIFE. Happy reading 🤗
after the first 100 pages it’s really good, the pace picks up and a lot happens. pretty much as soon as baz makes his entrance is when everything gets good.
I’ve actually been able to read a lot over this quarantine phase, which has been really nice! I finally read Six of Crows, and I’m halfway through Crooked Kingdom now!
As for Carry On, it's an amazing book that i do too think you'll love! But the beginning is quite hard to get through, the first 120 pages are kinda boring, but after that it's absoluetly amazing. So if you wanna read that, I would advise to power through the beginning.
I read/listened to tower of dawn and kingdom of ash last October and I really enjoyed the experience. I did what you were saying at the begging of the video and read along as I listened. It made me focus more on the story and more impressed in the books. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the finale book and I believe in you for reading at least one of these books. Also I love your content so thank you for sharing it
I'm finally tackling the Shadowhunters books because of quarantine. I hadn't read any of Cassandra Clare's books before, but I'm on City of Glass and enjoying the story! 😊
oh my god!! I am so glad you might finally pick up GONE WITH THE WIND!! It is my favourite book ever, ever since I read it when I was in class 6. It's been almost a decade now and I still love this book! The movie is also amazing!
I just finished reading The Handmaid's Tale. It is so good! I've actually been working on Lewis Carrol's collected works during quarantine. I've had the pink Barnes and Noble classic edition for years but have only managed to get through Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass so far. So I'm finally diving back in and reading more of the stories.
for Carry On, you have to push through the first 150 pages and then it gets better (basically the book starts the pick up when Baz arrives). I've read the book about 2-3 times and I usually listen to the audiobook for the first 150 and then read the rest physically. The author even admitted that the first 150 were kind of boring but necessary for the story lol
Just wanted to thank you for acknowledging that not everyone is getting extra free time. As a stay at home mom of two little ones, I still have next to no free time, except now we all have cabin fever too! It’s been a little frustrating to hear so many people complaining about how bored they are with soooooo much free time... if I had the opportunity to read all day, I would be THRILLED! So it’s nice to hear someone acknowledging that self-isolating doesn’t equal an abundance of free time for everyone. I hope you’re able to get to a lot of these books while you’re stuck at home!
A Tale of Two Cities was the first book I read of 2020 and it was so hard to read so I listened to the audiobook while reading the physical copy. I gave it 4 stars though!
Great stack of books there! Go for a chunky one- you can do it! No time like the present. Gone With The Wind is very good and immersive. Good luck! Thanks for the videos!
So I have a the fear of big books as well but I started doing audio and physical read. That way you can do housework or whatever while listening and pick up the book when just chilling around the house! Try that it helps so much you’ll get through it so much faster. Hope that helps
I managed "War and Peace" in audio, and it actually turned out ok. You might be surprised at how well it works. The upside is you won't have to worry about that tiny font.
The fact that hailey is uploading every single day makes me want to jump up in delight!!! Also, I read Great Expectations and ended up NOT liking it at all! So I am definitely interested to hear your opinions on it!
Anna Karenina is amazing, I just finished it! aaaah I love fairytales 😍 A Tale of Two Cities is also on my tbr! those are exactly the 3 books by Jane Austen I still need to read to 🙈 YES read Mistborn please!! happy reading 💙
OMG, yes you must read Gone With the Wind!!! One of the best characters in literature, Scarlet is so flawed and also so ahead of her time...an amazing saga!
winter of the world was a really good addition to the Century trilogy and I strongly suggest you read it. personally, I'm now struggling with picking up the last one because that is a running theme here it seems...
Aurora Burning is quite an interesting book. Please give it a try! I also didn't think I would like it and kept putting it off however, after I got started on it I couldn't stop and finished it in a week. It's such a great book and the further you read the better it gets.
I almost always read along with the audiobook. It helps me feel much more immersed in the story. I couldn't put Ninth House down! I'm doing the read-along through the month of April for Aurora Rising. The authors will do a q&a every week on Insta, so that sounds fun. Happy reading!
i’m not having that much fun because although i’m out of school until at least may 4 and have all this time to read, i’m in such a reading slump 😭 i guess it’s because i have to rely on ebooks right now and i prefer reading physical books :’) i hope you’re all safe !
A Question of Holmes is out in paperback now. I preordered it and got it before all the madness in the world started. I was waiting for paperback to match my set as well.
Macbeth and Julius Caesar are so good! I've also heard really good things about King Lear and his other historical plays I'm currently making my way through the Game of Thrones books, I finished all 969 pages of the 2nd book earlier this week, took a fantasy break, and I'm going to start the 1200 page 3rd book next week. I love longer fantasy books because I want to dive really deeply into the world, and you don't get to do that as much in shorter books
Even thou that my tbr list is huge I'm going for new releases kind of this month: Anna K by Jenny Lee Spellhacker by M.K England Ink in the blood by Kim Smejkal Dark and deepest red by Anna-Marie Mclemore Bone Crier's Moon by Kathryn Purdie The shadows between us by Tricia Levenseller Crown of feathers by Nicki Pau Preto
Ninth house is so good!! The first 100-150 pages were so difficult for me to get through and I feel like many people had the same experience. But after that, it couldn’t put it back down!
I read 100 pages of Anna Karenina and still had no idea what the book was about. Might pick it up again though. I have the same Jane Austen books (all 6 actually) and have only read Northanger Abbey so far. For the Handmaid's Tale I recommend watching the series too. Book and show complement each other quite nicely. And I have Ken Follett's Winter of the worlds too. I read #3 on accident, and wanted to get #1 and #2 from my aunt. But I forgot #1 and now I obviously can't get the book for another month at least. What is the luck to pick up the wrong book in a series TWO times??
Wow, I hate looking at the books I haven’t read myself and need to read 😂 Good job at attempting to get your head around your books! I feel overwhelmed for you. Good luck!
I feel you because I really want to read Crescent City but the only book I’ve read by Sarah J. Maas is the first Throne of Glass and I feel kind of guilty because I haven’t even read Crown of Midnight 😬
I am in the process of reading "The Beauty of Darkness." I don't like it quite as much as "Heart of Betrayal" but I'm still only 150 pages in. Big books scare me too. "Finale" was super fun. Couldn't put it down. I'm also planning to read "Graceling" this month. I'm excited to see what you think of it.
I'm on my third week of quarantine and have read almost 5 books. I have to admit though, I had already read 2/3 of one of the books, but I felt so accomplished when I finished it because I have been struggling with it for so long 😅 Anyways, it's nice to have more time to read and get a routine of reading again 😍
Carry On definitely starts out slow, but right when I made it to the second part of the book I fell in love with it. I also made my friends read the book and they all love it a lot too.
You've got some great books lined up! Also you look fantastic today, and I love that shirt. Thanks so much for all the content lately, I'm loving it. Also I think your videos are the one that my dog likes best. Leviathan by Westerfield is SO GOOD and has one of my fave tropes.

I recently read Leviathan and love it. Such an easy and fluid read. Hope you enjoy it
Literally using lockdown as an excuse to buy myself new books 😏
Cheer Ads ikr I’m ordering books off amazon every 2 days
I dont have any money 😭
Yess you're one of the only things that keeps me sane In this time. Love you and your videos♥️♥️
Hailey, this video makes total sense....
Actually I was expecting one from every booktuber....
OMG, yes you must read Gone With the Wind!!! One of the best characters in literature, Scarlet is so flawed and also so ahead of her time...an amazing saga!
Not sure if you've gotten to this one yet, but highly recommend you read Uprooted. Reads like a fairytale and I could not put it down!
winter of the world was a really good addition to the Century trilogy and I strongly suggest you read it. personally, I'm now struggling with picking up the last one because that is a running theme here it seems...
currently also reading carry on right now! glad i finally picked it up --sometimes thick books just really seem overwhelming
Gone with the wind is one of my favourite books of all time, I just couldn t stop reading it once I got in to it.
Aurora Burning is quite an interesting book. Please give it a try! I also didn't think I would like it and kept putting it off however, after I got started on it I couldn't stop and finished it in a week. It's such a great book and the further you read the better it gets.
I've got the A Whole New World, Once Upon a Dream (my fav) and As Old As Time from the Disney's Twisted Tales!
I saw your Grimm brothers classic book and I was like "I HAVE THAT!"
I almost always read along with the audiobook. It helps me feel much more immersed in the story. I couldn't put Ninth House down! I'm doing the read-along through the month of April for Aurora Rising. The authors will do a q&a every week on Insta, so that sounds fun. Happy reading!
I'm so glad you want to read Timekeeper! It's my second favourite series of all time and it deserves more love.
I just read Carry on & Wayward Son! I loved both and used the app Libby since all I need is a library card to access my local library’s collection :)
i’m not having that much fun because although i’m out of school until at least may 4 and have all this time to read, i’m in such a reading slump 😭 i guess it’s because i have to rely on ebooks right now and i prefer reading physical books :’) i hope you’re all safe !
Anna Karenina and Gone with the Wind are amazing. Definitely bucket list books and ones you should read!
A Question of Holmes is out in paperback now. I preordered it and got it before all the madness in the world started. I was waiting for paperback to match my set as well.
The audiobooks of the Ember in the Ashes books are FANTASTIC! I’d recommend reading them that way. That’s how I read book 2 and 3 and loved them.
Macbeth and Julius Caesar are so good! I've also heard really good things about King Lear and his other historical plays
I'm currently making my way through the Game of Thrones books, I finished all 969 pages of the 2nd book earlier this week, took a fantasy break, and I'm going to start the 1200 page 3rd book next week. I love longer fantasy books because I want to dive really deeply into the world, and you don't get to do that as much in shorter books
I swear your channel is one of the only things keeping me sane (besides books and video games) during quarantine, thank you SO MUCH for the content 💕
Even thou that my tbr list is huge I'm going for new releases kind of this month:
Anna K by Jenny Lee
Spellhacker by M.K England
Ink in the blood by Kim Smejkal
Dark and deepest red by Anna-Marie Mclemore
Bone Crier's Moon by Kathryn Purdie
The shadows between us by Tricia Levenseller
Crown of feathers by Nicki Pau Preto
I just finished Great Expectations and it doesn’t feel as big when you read it. The characters are soooo intriguing! Definitely recommend.
I've been wanting to read Anna Karenina for so long, need to make some time for it. You're going to love Gone with the Wind, it's amazing!
Ninth house is so good!! The first 100-150 pages were so difficult for me to get through and I feel like many people had the same experience. But after that, it couldn’t put it back down!
I’ve just read Mistborn and it blew my expectations away!!!
Gone with the Wind is one of those large books that you just fly through I reckon. I really enjoyed it.
Good luck!
i completely understand! i’m now on like book 10ish that i’ve read in the past month and a half cause i’m at home... 😅
I feel you because I really want to read Crescent City but the only book I’ve read by Sarah J. Maas is the first Throne of Glass and I feel kind of guilty because I haven’t even read Crown of Midnight 😬
I haven't gotten to Finale either, but I'm adding it to my OWLs TBR
I am in the process of reading "The Beauty of Darkness." I don't like it quite as much as "Heart of Betrayal" but I'm still only 150 pages in. Big books scare me too. "Finale" was super fun. Couldn't put it down. I'm also planning to read "Graceling" this month. I'm excited to see what you think of it.
For Emma, what made it super interesting to me was that the movie Clueless was based on it! It is SUPER cute to compare them.
Hailey, War and Peace is one more page than Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix.
and 100 times more boring. (just my opinion, don't come for me)
Carry On definitely starts out slow, but right when I made it to the second part of the book I fell in love with it. I also made my friends read the book and they all love it a lot too.
Kingdom of Ash is- in my opinion-- the best book in the series. I think you are going to love it!
You've got some great books lined up! Also you look fantastic today, and I love that shirt. Thanks so much for all the content lately, I'm loving it. Also I think your videos are the one that my dog likes best.
Leviathan by Westerfield is SO GOOD and has one of my fave tropes.
