I saved a blue '03 4 × 2 from some SoundCloud rapper looking kid a couple years ago. Glad I decided to make the move, this thing is a complete joy. Since it is old, I have plans to replace all the worn down suspension bushings, and perhaps the inner/outer tie rods. I've driven this thing in the snow, on the coast, in the mountains, and such. Everything but the city lol
I love mine. It's not fast like a sports car but when you floor it it makes you smile because a daily truck shouldn't move like that. The cornering agility feels comically good too.
These were a blast to drive, such a great engine, too bad that they were a money pit. It was crazy that the Aviator with the 4v 4.6 engine put out 2 more hp than the bigger 5.4 4v that was in the Navigator.
Peak Hp came in at 5750 for the Aviator, and 5250 for the Navigator. That means from idle to 5200, the Navigator is making more power and torque. The only rev to 6k as well.
The irony that ford had a dohc 4v 5.4, but chose to shove the 3v into the biggest seller with that engine. How much money could that saved, especially when they angered people with the 3v?
@@theshield1613 03 & 04 had the 4 valve 5.4. 05 & 06 had the problematic 3 valve. I had a 2004 Navigator for 5 years, I loved that 4 valve 5.4, great engine
I bought one a couple years back. Still have it. Fixed the timing chains on it and it's been driving since. I'll probably never sell her. She's a beast.
193.3 inches length, 113.7 inches wheelbase...that's on the large size of the "midsized" luxury SUV segment. For comparison, the Lexus GX470 of the time had a total length of 188.1 inches and a wheelbase of 109.8 inches.
A glorified Ford Explorer that still rust in the same spots and has the same engine problems...still junk actually I think the interior wore out faster than stock Explorer 🤣🤣
My first car. A year older then me. The best car I’ve ever driven so far.
Beautiful the LIncoln Aviator. comfortable and nice
@2:40 brilliant sound editing being able to hear that 32v 4.6 sing

@@madmod yea, the Nav definition made more torque, 355 lbs/ft
These were amazing SUVs. Looked similar to the Explorer but underneath it was much much more upgraded just like the new Aviator.
Interior looks nice.
Always liked these, to bad it only lasted 3 years.

These are MAGIC to drive. It's a shame the engine and transmission werent longer lasting.
The engine was bulletproof, the trans however was very problematic
4.6l v8 is a bulletproof engine
@@theshield1613 especially the 4 valve version. Those had a forged crank & 6 bolt mains

i have an daily drive a 2005 aviator, love it but such a gas guzzler.
I also have an '05 4x2 daily driver, odometer just hit 144k last week. Nice but filling up hurts my wallet. Hate the cracking on the rear lift gate.
I love my 22’ aviator. It’s no different from the ‘20.. but the aviator has come such a far way.
The 0-60 on this was faster than my BmW lol
Ahead of the curve
It's also got a V8! 👍😁
i still have mine:)
You can now find these on Facebook Market place with 175k miles for $1500k with the dashboard lit up like a Christmas Tree. 🤣🤣🤣

The 4.6 in this was one of the most durable gasoline Ford engines ever made.
Buying it now a days for the engine really.
