    I want to thank you geofatboy for teaching me how to shave with a safety razor, because of my job I need to have a baby smooth shave everyday, and the Gillette cartridges would cost 1/20 of my salary every month due to the inflation in my country.
    You helped me to make the most of my salary so I can afford food and when I had no fatherly figure to ask you were present so many thanks for your videos.

    I wanted to say thanks for all your hard work in making and sharing these videos. I am 58 and over the last 40 years I have used either electric or multi-blade razors. I have never enjoyed my shaving experience. I found your videos and I have moved to a single blade and handle. I picked up a badger brush and a few shave creams... so now at 58 I finally enjoy my shave! Thank you so much!

    9 years ago I was sick and tired of paying for cartridge type razors and learned that double edge razors and razor blades were still being manufactured and used. I watched a lot of your videos back then and gave me a good feel of what to do when DE shaving. Based on your recommendation back then, I bought a Merkur 34C HD. 9 years later I'm very much using that same razor and saved hundreds of dollars during that time. Thank you Mr. Geofatboy.

    Thank you for your helpful and informative videos. Been shaving with a Gillette 5-blade cartridge for years. Shaving in the shower, shaving every other day, I get an estimated 50 shaves out of a single cartridge. Planning to go to DE, probably a Henson medium. Oh man, so many variables. I really would like to get the titanium version, but will first have to add up all the accessories before I decide which trigger to pull (Citori Superlight analogy there). Looks like I'll be shaving after the shower rather than during.

    Great video like usual and I like my Synthetics, I'm not sure if you mentioned that synthetics can be quicker to dry in open air because they are not hollow core hair whisker like a badger or boar hair. Synthetic brush hair also does not need to be soaked prior to the shave. You sure covered a lot in a short time period on this video!

    Hello geofatboy. I recently bought a silvertip badger. The company advises to use it vertically like a painter's brush as opposed to use it in circular motions. I also read a few times in a variety of sources that silvertip brushes are really delicate. This video is informative overall, but I wonder about the care one must show in regards to silvertip badgers in particular. Should I avoid circular motions? What other tips must I follow in order to make it last? For as you know they are quite expensive. Thanks for the video.

    With shaving brushes losing hair. I've been using them since 1964. They all do it over time. Speaking as an artist and illustrator the hairs of premium, sable, hand made brushes do the same. They start to go bald after use. One has to clean brushes right down to the furell. Hanging upside down and drying carefully helps to prevent the problem.

    To clean or disinfect your brush (for those who cut themselves and continue to lather over with their brush), mix some mild baby shampoo with a little alcohol or Dr. Bronner's castile soap and just wash it in the sink or your shaving bowl.
    I clean mine this way every month or so. It performs better when you regularly clean or wash it. Just don't leave it in too long.

Your videos put me at ease and they are full of great information. Would you be able to make a video of your top 10 shaving soaps or creams as I’m currently just using a Wilkinson sword one and would like to try something different also do you ship to the UK as I would love a Shave Nation lather bowl and coffee cup! Keep up the great work and have a great shave, have a great day! Regards, Nate.

    Hi Geo, is there any way you can turn a make up brush into a shaving brush?:) where I live it's been almost impossible to find a shaving brush (I got one from RazorEmporium which is why I got one in first place)

      Try lathering with it and see if it works. If not, we sell some very reasonably priced brushes: bit.ly/AllBrushesSN

    any noticeable water retention differences b/w other badgers and silvertip badgers? or the difference in badgers is purely touch to the skin / feel of the brush.

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  2 роки тому

      Slight difference depending on knot size and grade of badger.

    Great video Geo. So I go to the Greek Orthodox Church, And know many Greek people and I can tell that you’re Greek, Would you like to talk about that sometime in one of your non shaving related videos? I think a lot of us would be interested

    I read somewhere online that alcohol based aftershaves are not good for skin in the long run. They can cause dryness and irritation. Personally it makes my skin very tight and I have to apply something soothing afterwards. What is your view on this matter ?

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  3 роки тому +1

      That's true-I've mentioned it in many videos. Many Gents prefer alcohol free balms: shavenation.com/search?q=aftershave+balm

    Hey Geo, what would you recommend for someone with black facial hair that's just still visible at the surface of the skin after a shave?? Haha.
    And what's your tip for getting rid of a razor burn face? Can you make videos on any of these??

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  4 роки тому

      Do you use a safety razor with a sharp blade? Say like an R41 with a Feather blade?

    • @East_Coast_Toasty_Boy
      @East_Coast_Toasty_Boy 4 роки тому

      @@geofatboy I use a safety razor with a feather or the triple coated one laser ultra. I've shaved while showering and after and even did 3 passes: with, side and against the grain while lathering in between. Can't manage to leave my face without a little sting and no aftershave that actually works with soothing.
