Mark, I would like to thank you for the extensive work you put into reviewing wet shaving material. Thanks to your reviews, I got myself the T2 model and it made me forget every other brush I had used before. I liked it so much that the T1 and the T3 are on their way to me now. With my kindest regards from Montpellier, South of France, O. G.
Great comparison of the brushes and other manufacturers brushes. It's funny when you go "here is the T1, here is the T2,..." It reminds me of the eye doctors when trying to set prescription for lenses. 😂
I have a Yaqi Ferrari 26mm as well, and it's nice but a bit large, i dont have a stand that it fits in nicely. I ordered a t2, and this video was extremely helpful and reassuring that i bought the right one. Thank you
Trying the synthetic before popping for a badger. I've been using a cheap badger and has served my needs for some long years but is starting to break down. Figured it is time for a change. So far I'm impressed with the T3.
Mark, this was the video review that I always wanted to see! Thank you! I just bought the T2 and I love it. My first synthetic. Very classy looking and extremely well made. I was concerned about backbone but no worries with Simpson. I would recommend this to your viewers. Great effort on the size comparison. It helped me a lot as I wouldn’t want a large brush. The T2 is just right for me. Take care and Happy New Year!
Mark, I am SO glad you did that comparison. I have the Amber Aerolite coming. Given the size of the T2 and T3, I am really happy I waited. Your review definitely saved me from disappointment. There are many other brushes out there that I would consider before getting a Simpson synthetic. I'm sure they are quality brushes but the sizes just aren't for me. So, thanks again for sharing.
Bart, after you mentioned that the Simpson Trafalgar brushes were for sale on Amazon, I decided to take the plunge. They weren't supposed to be delivered for about another week or so. They arrived early, so I decided to do the video ASAP given that the brushes were discussed on MMMB. So, I was able to shoot the video and get it posted. I'm very glad you found it helpful.:)
Hi J. R. The T2 is a great brush. I prefer it to my T3. It has plenty of backbone for scrubbing the lather in and it's lovely and soft for painting the lather around. I hope you are now enjoying yours! Regards, Dave.
Hi Mark, I have the T2 & T3. Great brushes!! I also received the Chubby 2 synthetic the other day. The Chubby is incredible but these Trafalgars are excellent, especially for the price. Loads of backbone for scrubbing in the lather before you paint! I hope you are well and staying safe Sir! Dave.
Just got the T2. Nice size and as you stated, good for home or travel. I have several Vulfix brushes (Vulfix bought Simpson in 2007) and they are good work horses.
Thanks for informative vid. Wow - the T1 is TINY !!! So glad I got the T3. I considered this purchase a splurge . I got it for just under $40 all in. That's a lot of dough. Overpriced ? You be the judge, gents.
Hi Mark- Great brush comparison video; thank you! I have the Simpson T2 and find it to be a great size to whip-up a two-pass lather; great brush! I hope your week is going well. Take good care and be safe and be well. Best regards, as always, Mark!
Mark, THANK YOU for doing this comparison! I have been looking all over for someone to really talk about the differences in each of the Trafalgar series! It was especially helpful that you compared them visually to other brushes, many of which I also have in my den so that I can get a feel of how they would compare!
Brian, my pleasure. I was rather surprised at the size of the T1. I thought doing the side-by-side comparisons would help put things in perspective. So glad it helped.:)
Hi Mark. Great comparsion. I have T2 and T3 and love them. T1 is a bit to small for me. But in my opinion a great travel size. Keep on the good content ... and allways smooth shaves to you 👍

Massimo, the T3 is definitely a favorite. But I need to use the T1 and T2 for a few shaves in order to formulate an opinion. They are very well made, for sure!:)
For badger brushes Simpsons sure are the most expensive, they say the best brushes. I own a few, they're top noth. But german Shavemac's are equally good at considerable lower prices + the choice one can choose his own loft , knot diameter and handles. I daily can compare both brands, the Shavemac is the more modern brush. Unfortunately the german does not offer symthetics, whilst it seems the future does lay there...

Hi great review I'm quite new to de shaving (6 weeks) I'm looking to try a simpson brush but not sure which size brush to go for I'm torn between the t2 or t3 what would you recommend for a newbie ?....thanks
Hi, vergo105, I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed the video.:) Definitely get the T3. More substantial handle and larger knot. the T2 is fine. I'd describe it as a brush that works for both home and travel. so I think this says something about it's size. The T3 is the first one I bought and I was quite happy with the selection. when I the T2 arrived some months later, I confirmed that I made the correct purchase of the T3 the first time around.
@@MarkSzorady Mark.. thanks for your remarks here. I have been shaving with a Yaqi brush but decided to get a Simpson. I ordered the T3 and am waiting for it to come in. Like Vergo…I still am wondering if the T3 might be too much brush….with it eating up excessive lather (overkill), etc. The T3 handle looks better for fitting in my hand but the brush looks awfully big compared to my Yaqi. Your advice to get the T3 eased my second thoughts. Glad now that I went with my first instinct. Thanks again.
@@CraigRasmussen1 I think you'll really enjoy the T3. For me, it's the perfect size. I don't think you'll find it overly big. Then again, I've got some other brushes that are real monsters, so this brush is being compared to those. It all depends on what you currently have in your shave den. If you have some smaller knotted brushes, yes, the T3 may appear large. But, once you use it, I think it'll become quite familiar and enjoyable. Please let us know.
Mark….my T3 arrived today. Can’t wait to use it. You are totally right about getting the T3. I put it up against my Yaqi… and it looked like his little brother. I can’t imagine using anything smaller than this…..especially the T1. It would feel like trying to lather up using a Q-tip. Anyway…thanks for your advice.
Georgio, T3. Larger knot, better coverage, IMHO.:) It was the first brush in the Trafalgar series that I purchased it fit the bill for both face and head shaves for me. I do use the T2 for face shaves, but cannot recall if I've ever used it for a head shave.
