Ok I have the same car and I’m trying to replace my alternator but pushing right on my tensioner barely releases it enough to pull the belt a little I can’t get it to fully release
I can’t seem to get the tensioner to loosen more then a tiny bit. Would you require one to hold and one to pull off the belt or do you think it could be done by one person.
I believe it's do-able with one person, it's been a while since I pulled one of these belts but I don't remember it needing to be a 2 person job. You may have the wrong size belt on your car, that's something I've seen in the past to compensate for failing tensioners or just due to incorrect ordering. Worth looking into. Thanks for watching!
You didn't replace any of the other components associated with the belt such as the idler and tensioner. When, approximately, do those other items need to be replaced?
I replace those when I start hearing any noise or they start leaking grease. If yours are plastic and cracking I'd also be concerned and replace at that point as well. Thanks for watching!
It was a very helpful video. Step by step. Wow. Smh
Have someone film for you so we can actually see the procedure.

all your videos pretty good but hope its much longer and detailed...
Thanks for watching!
@@redonKiLaus I completely agree with Gabriel Hoegarden, I wish this video would have been much longer and more detailed. Thanks.

Hi did u have to remove the fan
I have done it both ways, but generally I just remove the ring around the shroud and that's enough to snake the belt out. Thanks for watching!

@@redonKiLaus Thank you - can't figure out exactly which one is making noise!
@@kristinarind7869 It's difficult, and I often replace them all if that occurs since when one is failing the others are generally not too far behind.
You DO NOT pull to the LEFT to get the belt off you pull the RIGHT!!!
Depends on the tensioner setup, they are different in different vehicles. Thanks for watching!
I don’t have a 15mm socket I have a 6mm Allen head
Interesting - that's Mercedes for you, many revisions of the same part that are all slightly different. Thanks for watching!
you did not even specify the type and size of the serpentine belt!!!
It's in the video description - just click the "show more" button. Thanks for watching!
