In Arkansas I sold bundles of firewood but I didn’t use plastic I used the hay bale strings from the bales that I fed the horses and cows I tied them up with the string as a handle
Quick work of the bundles. Joe you have to build your log supplier list up as your production has gone up. Dont stress, you will get some logs.

These are my favorite type of videos from you. Work getting done, sales happening and educational regarding the business side of things.
We don't have issues getting a supply of logs, but our issue is being able to sell for enough money and that's because of location. We make good money bringing firewood to a city but out in the forest where we are it's tough.

Coming from a person who buys from mom and pop shops and the Big store I always wondered why sum times it shows the name of where the wood came from and sum wood didn’t have a name on the wrap / ropes now I know 😊

I've had a Jackson steel handle wheelbarrow for 20 years...if you appreciate a well made wheelbarrow, it is a Cadillac for sure. Unfortunately they quit making that model. Likely due to try the AM Leonard 🔥

I don't know the agreement Joe has with his clients but typically if one would get into a store with bundles the store gets 40%-50%. So one would sell the bundle to the store for $5-$6 and the store sells it for $10. Just an example
Seems most retailers work off a 40% markup. You can see what competitors are selling theirs for at retail and calculate your price based on that. That is a good starting point for negotiating
Nice looking bundles 👍 I agree that the visual aspect of bundles over bags is important. Your bundles are huge compared to what is sold locally to me, and a better price.

@@ohiowoodburner I live in an area with a relatively large lumber industry where a full cords of firewood goes between $125-$160 because wood is so prevalent. I shake my head when I see firewood bundles for $8.50 that are half the size of your bundles. Good video 👍

Good choice going with Go Fast ! My Blue and Yellow wrappers I needed parts for never showed up after talking with owner and now the phone number is disconnected …
That was the way i saw things going. I needed a second wrapper and I needed a company that supports it.

Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. As I mentioned before, bundles don't exist in this part of the world. Perhaps if I was 40 years younger I could launch the concept onto an unsuspecting public but I'll leave it to a younger generation. Do you have to adjust the tension of the wrapper as the diameter of the roll reduces?
It seems I am always chasing the tension but when I first put on a new roll it stays good for a while. As the roll gets smaller you have to reduce or it will snap.

I have the blue Twister. I still have it. I wanted a second machine for redundancy and I didn't feel Twister was a viable choice anymore. Gofast is an excellent machine with a responsive support system

However you should add in all the time cutting splitting hauling etc. it ain’t 20 minutes. Tell the whole story and time and gas involved
Disagree. The cutting, splitting and hauling is to make firewood. The wrapping is to make bundles. My calculations are gross, not net. Not sure what the big deal is. Learn the whole story before you post.
Another YT Accountant has shown their head in chat again. Conservatively the actual cost per bundle is less than $2 each, more like less than $1.50c per bundle but leave it at $2. Sell to the Store at $5 per bundle, so $3 profit per bundle x 20 bundles = $60 per half hour x 2 = $120 per hour, bring it back to $80 per hour profit. $80 per Hour is pretty good do you think? Do you want my figures to get to these numbers or are you smart enough to work them out for yourself with a little bit of brain power?

Hey Joe, does the store take a certain percentage from your wood sales. I'm gonna start doing the same where I'm at so just curious.
I sell mine wholesale to my accounts. Just negotiate the best price for both of you
$100 in 20 minutes. Only if you get your neighbor to cut the wood for you.
Producing firewood is separate from making bundles. Otherwise Ithe costs of production would be factored twice and that would anger the UA-cam accountants

Mostly all maple with a few cherry.

The big deal for me is GoFast will answer their phone/call you back if you leave a message, need a part etc. There is nothing wrong with the Twister machine.

It takes longer than twenty mins. I believe your selling false dreams. You have to cut it split it then let it dry for a year so yea 20 mins your dreaming
Nope...you got it all wrong but that is ok. I still am grateful for commenting on the vid. The cutting, splitting etc is factored into the production of the firewood. The wrapping is calculated into the making of bundles. If I were to factor production into the bundling I am calculating my overhead twice and that will make the UA-cam accountants angry. There is a cost for the wood and wrap, obviously, but...this shouldn't be a big secret here...my factoring is based on gross, not net.
