Ive watched so many professional hairdressers tutorials on thinning scissors and none of them made sense... But this one did.. thank you! I can't afford the hairdresser and haven't had my hair cut in two years since I became homeless, I'm going to cut my hair this week! So thanks for the fab tutorial

Thanks for the tutorial. I have super thick hair and have to remove the bulk every 1- 2 months so this was helpful.

Thank you!! My hair has been so thick and long and I was thinning out myself, no worries. Just got a haircut and it didn't turn out how I would have liked, no body, no shape and much shorter than I would have liked. This will be very helpful since I've never had short hair before, and I need to do something with it to give it... something.

Hey girl thank you so much for the tutorial. I thinned my daughter's hair this morning after watching this last night. It worked so well and she looks amazing. I've been styling my own hair now 4 years. I wish we had tutorials when I was younger I would have done my own.❤

Thank you, this helps me A LOT! I have hair similar to the mannequin's in style and length and I recently cut it myself, taking about 8 inches off the length, it was quite long, and although it feels better bc it's not hanging down my back any longer, it doesn't look quite right when I shampoo and let it air dry, so this is VERY USEFUL for me.
    Thanks again.

Nice tutorial, thanx. I have coarse hair and a Very high hair count. I require thinning scissors & lots of texturizing, plus an undercut. It’s the only way I can manage; too much to deal with...It can be a curse to have too much hair.

so true!! and I always hear how I'm blessed to have thick hair.. I would actually love thinner hair as it would be so much easier to manage!

This other video I watched cut down at an angle instead of up or over. I feel like everyone does this different which is tough when you are trying to get tips on how to use thinning shears. I'm just going to take a little from every video and attempt this!

I just had my hair thinned at the salon and it felt like the person was dragging a razor on my hair. Very very painful !!! It looks frizzy and damaged. I am so upset. I wish you were my hairdresser !!!

I'm wondering, why exactly should one cut at an angle instead of straight across with the thinning shears?
I saw another video by a hair stylist, and she cut straight across with them, from mid-shaft or below. Her cautions were to cut hair with only the outside half of the shears and to make sure the teeth were on top when cutting. She also said we could hold hair out at angle when cutting to help the thinned parts blend with the rest.
Is your way just a different way of achieving the same thing? (I always like to know the theory behind what I'm doing.)
    Is your way maybe a

I was taught to cut at an angle with the thinning shears, because when you go in straight across you leave a line in the hair. It's not always noticable, but why take a chance. I was never told the shears needed to be held a certain way either. No matter what way you're holding them they are going to cut the same way. There are a lot of techniques out there and different ways taught to achieve the same results. You as the consumer can find what best fits you.

Maybe look into the sizing of the teeth in the thinning scissors. Smaller teeth are better than big ones in thinning scissors.

Does the hair have to be dry

    • @bekahbuck8626
      @bekahbuck8626  3 роки тому +3

Yes, these shears should be used on dry hair. You will not be able to control how much hair is removed as well, if it is wet.

All depends on how thick the hair is :) sometimes it can leave a harsh line so I always prefer to leave a small gap then go over it again if I need to
