    First off I must say that I love your wife's laugh!
    Thank you for this video. It's going to be helpful for me because, usually when I go to a hairdresser, I try to just sit back and let them do what they do. Unfortunately, that has led to some very disappointing results.
    I'm just about to get my haircut again and, after watching some of your other videos, I have decided to get bangs and layers. I am quite nervous because of my previous experiences but my hair is fine, thinning, shapeless, and has so many split ends that it's growing shorter instead of longer so I really have no choice but to put myself in someone's hands. This video will help because I'll be able to watch what's being done and be able to comment on it before it's too late. I now have so many 'tips' to give the hairdresser that they'll probably be happy to see the back of me. LOL. Thank you to you both for empowering me.

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox  3 роки тому

      That’s a great question! It depends on how you use the razor. For the most part you will be correct, however there are definitely ways to utilize the razor that will not strip the hair away into nothing and create the illusion of frizz.

    If you look on Amazon, texturized scissors and thinning scissors are listed as the same thing even though I’m not asking for thinning. I can’t see the difference. I want a texture for thin fine hair. I didn’t see the difference your pointing out.

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox  4 роки тому +1

      This is a great question and to be honest, it’s probably a bit of my fault as well. Even in my description of this video I still refer to the texturizing shears that I use as “thinning shears“ because that’s what most People know them as. So while I was trying to make it easy for people, I think I’ve even added to the confusion. I’m going to change my descriptions from now on. With that said, if you look in the description to this video you’ll see a link to my favorite thinning shears, those are the texturizing shears that I use every day. I love them.

    Any suggestion for an air dry texture product for thin fine hair?

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox  4 роки тому +1

      That’s a great question. I actually do have one product that is a wax I typically use to give hair texture after the hair is dry. Oddly enough I learned if I apply it to wet hair and then dry the hair it actually gives their some volume. I haven’t tried air drying it into hair yet so I’ll have to try that and see how that turns out and let you know.

    Gee, I’m really going to miss the “my hair stylist used a bowl to cut/texturize my hair”…emphasized by one color above the line, a dark color below. Also super happy about the fuzzy dried out random hair look. My normal hair is thick, easily styled, shiny, healthy. Now it’s a $5 hairstyle better just shave it off look. Ugh.

    Hi, thank you for your video! I’m interested in fixing my own blunt cut ends, and went to buy the texturizing shears you use, but they are not in stock. I’m curious if you would be able to share what to look for in a texturizing sheers so I can buy the correct thing. I am looking to texturize my straight, fine hair, but not thin it. Thank you!
