Thank you for this great tutorial! My boyfriend and I just cut my hair with my new texturising scissors and we did an amazing job thanks to you! We texturised that f****r 😃🎉🎉💃💃😃❤️
Oh my goodness..... I wish that I would gave seen your video before thinning my super think hair.... I saw another video for thinning and they went straight in, where you stayed not to. My stylist has always taken a ton of weight off of my hair, but I never watched how she used the thinning shears in the back of my head.... I did it the wrong way and cut through my sections of hair and cut it off in chunks, many inches at a time... didnt realize until I saw enough on the floor to make a wig, literally!!! So depressing, but now trying to even it out. My hair was super thick and down the middle of my back. It's now above my shoulders. Not sure if I want to laugh or cry!! Lol 😪 Glad I found this video. Subscribed and looking forward to your videos...
Thank you for your energy! This tutorial was great-you make it look so easy
THIS RIGHT HERE, is THE only one I’ve seen so eat they is simple and clear BOOM ♥️ Lockdown hair... I’m sorting you out, THIS weekend ✂️
Thank you for this tutorial.
Thank you! Needed this today 🙏🙏
Very helpful, thank you. It helps to see what to do and what not to do. Seeing a thinned section versus a non thinned side helps too -- seeing what you should be trying to achieve.
Also you have beautiful eyes!!
Now, im off to thin my hair then my daughter's hair.
Lol. This lady is my type of a woman. You lady are hilarious! Thanks for the entertainment, you made my night ;) Greetings from the U.K. Lucie :)
ThNk u for video I completely forgot all this stuff I havemt done any hair since nov. When I got out of college and sister want me to do her hair so ur video is going to help me alot
I had to thin my 4yr olds hair, who has never had a haircut, and this video literally saved me from butchering her hair. Thankyou so much for this video! It was extremely helpful, the best ive seen and ive watched alot in preparation for thinning it.
I don't know which way to hold the scissors, do you use the teeth part of the scissors at the top when you're cutting?
Thanks for cutting to the chase, Teri. Other tutorials start from the caveman scalping techniques and I never get to see the good stuff
Thanks for making! This video helped!
Brilliant video thank you 👍
Very helpful. Thank you.
Thanx for this!!! Very helpful ☺💜💜💜🔥
Hi Teri! Good job! I thinned my hair which is why I've been able to not go crazy not seeing you! I did pick up some good techniques from your tutorial. I did post on my FB site. Hope to see you when this is all over. Alicia
That's so awesome Alicia!!! I'm so happy to hear that ths tutorial helped you. We miss seeing you.
I swear thinning out hair is magic.. When my hair looks blocky I use thinning shears and it all flows back in nicely.. I had a hairdresser tell me one time Don't ever use those or you'll mess up your hair I said I've been using them all this time and you never said anything!!! I had one hairdresser cut a layer in the back of my hair straight across like she just got out of cosmetology school and I took the sheers to that layer and it took the bulk out and made it blend in better and barely noticeable.. I just can't say enough about this!!! My only question is I do have to do it higher on the shaft because it's so heavy on top like a helmet, how would you proceed on that?
I do not recommend doing higher , unless your wanting shorter layers .
Loved this video. Texturize that beeeee.
Thank You!
Thankyou. You should have a lot more subs. 🇬🇧😘
Which way do the teeth go? Does it make a difference? It's hard to tell in your video
Teeth follows the hair grain , should never have a tug feeling , should glide through hair smoothly
It appears to me that the teeth part are situated on the bottom of the scissors, facing up - kinda like your own teeth on your lower jaw.
Wow, thank you!! So helpful, I have purchased some wigs and all the bangs are to long and thick!!😊
BUT its like you made her hair 1 to 2 inches shorter WHAT if you just want to thin the thicker growing areas... mine aren't all around like your Rachel Head ---just in 2 particular areas side of head...
What you did on the mannequin looks great and makes sense but my hair has five times the weight of the hair you did and its longer. I Already layer the ends of my hair but I need weight removed higher up. I'm not talking about the top but higher up than you recommend. Is there some compromise to get weight out without causing the thinned pieces underneath make your hair look puffy on the top layer?
I Just ordered thinning shears. Would this work if I wanted to connect/blend choppy layers a stylist gave me? It's growing out now, but I feel like I have a mushroom head :-(
How do you give hair a pointed look in the back?
My thinning shears wont slide that smoothly does it mean it's not that sharp anymore?
Can you pls recommend texture shears? My thinning shears doesn't glide like yours so wondering if cos mine is a poorer quality? When i try to cut and slide it pulls at my hair
Great tutorial! I just got some thinning shears to use on thick short hair. Any recommendations? They are 5.75. 28 tooth Did I get a good pair? I am not a hair stylist. But learning at home during these times.
The length is shorter.
Which is the best thinning shears to buy on Amazon? What size or number of teeth do I need?
💕💕💕
What practice head is that? Where can it be purchased? :)
You can buy it off of Amazon or any beauty supply store. I believe this mannequin is Ms. Rachel! :)
I watched a couple of tutorials and they didn’t mention going in at an angle. I only did the two corners at the back - will this be really noticeable as it grows? :-( I then tried to understand how it worked and was thinking about the shorter bits being all together and making the bit left nearer the head super thick.
If your hair is thicker it shouldn’t be noticeable, but going at angle helps when you follow your hair grain for Much better grow out
Hope that helps , if you just take chunks out of your hair grow out will not be as pretty , and will also cause hair to stick out in different directions.
My hair is long and the weight is behind my ears.
I can’t tell which side you are using the teeth on. Are the teeth on bottom or the top when you are thinning?
It depends on which angle but you thinning shears teeth should be on top , but that would change depending on where and what you are cutting .
Teeth are on top normally
You are adorable! By the way Rachel is a chatterbox. She needs to STFU. LOL Seriously , you are adorable and great!
It is a good tutorial but I do not understand why she does not answer the questions here?
I’m so sorry !! After we got back in to salon from lockdown it got so busy . So sorry for not responding quickly
I went to use my scissors on my bangs on 8th minute
The hair doesn’t grow out on a wig.
Please, Teri, answer the Poor Millenial question, or make a tutorial to fix this problem. Thanks!
Im scared
She looks like Andi Mack's mom
Just used your technique. Thank you, thank you thank you. I just achieved what no hairdresser has been able to do. Love my hair now! And I did it myself. You’re awesome!
So glad it was helpful !!!:)
