And in Ukraine is not a civil war, Russia is the empire of evil. The video is good, even I was interested to know more about Kyiv (I live in a 5-hour drive from Kiev), you are a pleasant storyteller. I'm sorry that you are in trouble
Kickass video dude!!! Appreciate taking the time!! Definitely shows some great places to check out. Kiev and Odessa are the two cities I want to see more than any in Ukraine!!!
What are you talking about? On the Maidan Ukrainians were dying from the bullets of Russian snipers. The US is a friend of Ukraine, and Russia is a cruel enemy! Or have you already been eaten by Russian propaganda? Ukraine has always been a colony for Russia. Now Ukraine is fighting for its freedom from the Russian occupation, which lasted about 300 years. I'm Ukrainian, I live in Kiev, and I know very well what you said.
Read comments below if it helps but in short the Revolution was stirred up by CIA plants and aided by George Soros NGOs pushing propaganda. I was in kiev during the uprising. I saw American Government officials giving food and drinks to the protestors stirring them up. I saw the NGOs spreading propaganda via the new media outlets. It was CIA Regime change 101 - it was textbook.
The wondering Englishman What about East Germany and Hungary (in the 50th) -- CIA? Czechoslovakia (68), Poland (80th), Romania, Moldova, Baltic Stats, Georgia... i guess -- CIA and the Globalists? Haw started Yugoslavia"s disintegration (CIA or Serbian tanks in Slovenia?)? Who STARTED Afghanistan (79), Iraq (90), Arab spring (Yemen, Egypt, Syria, Morocco & Tunisia) -- CIA again? What about Brexit, referendum in Scotland, calamity in Greece & Catalonia? Must be the Globalists, CIA and Soros all together!
Frank Dorg you're right and this leaked phone between estonian ambassador and EU's Cathrene Ashton is completely a glitch in the matrix, what were they thinking ugh m.ua-cam.com/video/FSxMaU8oUeo/v-deo.html
Excellent video and good editing, enjoyed (your) music and side notes. Did you encounter issues using your drone? Did you have to ask permission before using it? Grateful if you could elaborate on that as I'd like to do the same.
Sorry for the slow response. Missed the comment - teamed up with a local and they flew it - no problems to speak of - but they have had problems in the past and since I'm told.
The wondering Englishman So, who STARTED in Syria? I bet, - the Globalists, CIA and Soros (ha-ha)! What about East Germany and Hungary (in the 50th) -- CIA? Czechoslovakia (68), Poland (80th), Romania, Moldova, Baltic Stats, Georgia... i guess -- CIA and the Globalists? Haw started Yugoslavia"s disintegration (CIA or Serbian tanks in Slovenia?)? Who STARTED Afghanistan (79), Iraq (90), Arab spring (Yemen, Egypt, Morocco & Tunisia) -- CIA again? What about Brexit, referendum in Scotland, calamity in Greece & Catalonia? Must be the Globalists, CIA and Soros all together!
The Globalists of course started the war in Syria. It's one of the last remaining countries without a Rothschild Central Bank - they armed ISIS to overthrow Assad.. Text book CIA operation that fortunately has failed so far. Want me to go through each one? Some were CIA led some were not. Brexit for your guide is the people standing up against the Globalists they didn't even see it coming.
Russian propaganda is made to be very attractive for social conservatives, various right wingers and libertarians who feel rightfully disenfranchised in the west at this time. Due to their views they begin to discern domestic propaganda efforts but don't have the same diligence with information that comes from Kremlin because it feeds in to their desired world view. As a Ukrainian living abroad in the west, who has native Russian and Ukrainian people in the family tree, it feels hugely disrespectful when people just parrot Kremlin lines without putting in research to form a unique, complex, personally developed opinion on what actually happened. Close to a million people voluntarily stood on a frigid square for months without any income, despite the government's efforts to stop the protests by causing those involved to become mangled invalids for the rest of their lives or by taking their lives entirely. Speaking about an event so closely tied to human struggle for betterment and suffering on a massive scale deserves a great deal of research, diligence and respect. As the protests took place in 2014, Russia saw their their political puppet, Yanukovich, being ousted out of the office and rightfully predicted their loss of control in the region so they decided to take advantage of Ukraine's lack of political functionality (the government was almost non functional and unable to react) during and immediately after the protests to take uncertainty out of the picture and militarily secure their strategic interest in the black sea by stealing the territory of Crimea from their weakened and unprepared neighbor. The subsequent events in Donbas were the result of border logistics and an attempt to secure a land route from Russia to the Crimean peninsula. After the military interventions Russia lost a tremendous amount of influence over Ukraine as well as what remained of it's face towards much of the western world. Hence, to legitimize it's military incursion and theft of land, Russia's information warfare goal became to discredit Ukraine's Revolution of Dignity against a corrupt government as a CIA/Soros project to topple a legitimate government for the purpose some sort of a globalist agenda. Despite the presence of western NGOs in Ukraine, just like all other developing countries, the revolution was driven by the Ukrainians themselves. The support of NGO's and western governments came by request from the Ukrainian people, they were not forced or tricked into it. They made a simple choice to strive for western models of government that espoused the rule of law, freedom of expression, private enterprise and transparent governance instead of the past/current Russian models of government which offered ubiquitous corruption, criminality, state sponsored oppression, censorship and centralization of state power. The Ukrainians have witnessed how tiny Poland has prospered under the European system to achieve a higher GDP and far higher standard of living than the enormous Russia which contains most of the world's natural resources. Joining the European sphere of thought and influence was an easy choice for the Ukrainians, the only thing which stood in their way were the corrupt Ukrainian politicians bought and paid for by corrupt Russian politicians, hence the people's uprising and the Revolution of Dignity.

if Dnipro river is flowing from north to south, left bank is on the east. sides of river banks are oriented by facing towards the mouth (south in this case)
that is true, but river sides are not oriented in that way. you have to face the river mouth, so your left side is therefore left riverbank :) thanks again for all of these great videos you shared
Hi Alex, enjoy your travel videos and that pioneering spirit that comes with off the beat and track travel. We always take so much more from these novel experiences and I want to continue on my own quests even though Im bound by work routines. Anyway without further a ramble - Ive got 10 days off in September and Im divided between a trip to Lviv with a side trip to nearby Carpathian mountains and Kiev. Or a Balkan conquest of Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia. Which would edge it for u and why? - Cheers, much appreciated - Chris
Hi Chris - both would be very enjoyable - I’m actually planning to try to go to the Carpathian Mountains myself - probably the least visited by westerners out of the two options. The other option I did as you can see from my videos (some of it I captured) I enjoyed both. As I’m sure you will! Thanks for watching btw
The wondering Englishman I've decided to go to Krakow and onto Lviv and Carpathian mountains at the end of this month. Kiev is just a bit out of the way. Cheers!
Train is probably quicker and more enjoyable if you are in lviv - flight is just silly 1st class train (fast train) tickets need to be booked in advance - there’s train apps). By time you have checked in to and airport done security and also flown in to an airport outside the city and then got into the city the train is better option.
I totally support you with religion and i am glad you enjoyed kiev and i love how you know so much about kiev and other cities and just general info about Ukraine
You are paranoid, but still interesting. Protests in Ukraine started, when Berkut roughly beaten students in Maidan square. So you missing something in your story.
And yet it was the Ukrainian official who worked at the American Embassy that ordered the Police to clear the square which resulted in violence. There’s no evidence to suggest this order came from the President.
Hi Manish I've done a series of videos on this channel about each city you mention. Each city is unique and each has very different qualities. Do check the videos out for inspiration but also be aware its like comparing 3 beautiful women.
Dnipro river left bank is because river flows from North to South, therefore if you look on the map of Ukraine from that perspective - East Ukraine will be on the left side and West Ukraine on the right one. Anyways we, ukrainians recently try not to devide each other or mention about east/west topic.. Thanks for such a long and detailed video and your interest
The left bank is just because of the river flow: the river Dnipro flows from North to South so respectively the river banks are considering regarding the river current. That's it
I use 3 websites evenly when I’m in Ukraine - all work well. Airbnb - if you use this link it will give you £25 off your next trip abnb.me/e/NqSZ0eUsIM Booking . Com for hotels and apartments This link will get you £15 off your next booking booking.com/s/38_6/vanter15 And I also use the local website www.dobovo.com although I have no referal link for this one I do recommend it for apartments.
Hi Rupert - I would say almost everyone under the age of 40 understands English very well in many cases people in Kiev speak better English than a lot of English people I’ve met in life. Kiev has some fantastic food places - TripAdvisor is worth downloading onto your phone while you are there. Try the budget to the high end if you have the means avoid fast food places you get in the West you are on holiday after all.
They have milk sold in plastic bottles and in cartons in Ukraine as well. All the supermarkets will have milk sold in bottles. But yes they do sell milk in plastic bags as well which I find very strange.
Some supermarkets in Ukraine really don’t sell it in cartons or bottles - countless trips to various supermarkets or corner stores told me this - however I’m sure there are also many places that probably do. Thanks for watching Alex
54:26 It's the main character from the cartoon "Hedgehog in the fog", produced in 1975. It is well-known in post-soviet countries. You can watch it here ua-cam.com/video/_Rugwd8ZNHY/v-deo.html
80s... you know sometimes if you find the right night you will find 80s. They don’t seem to hold onto the past as much as the west as the 80s didn’t make such an impact on Ukraine as you have to remember during the 80s behind the iron curtain they didn’t have access to western 80s music at least! However, I found a few bars in Podil playing some great 80s synth and new wave music occasionally when I was bar crawling through there :)
Nice video about your time in Kiev .. i found Kiev and Ukrainian people very ambitious to be in EU and they deserve to be a part of it .. Very hard workers , i visit Kiev every year almost and feel very relax and happy to visit many of its cities. Thank you for this video .. NADEEM
I didn't like Kiev when I went there either. Sorry Wandering Englishman. I found the majority of people weren't that friendly, I'm not white so perhaps thats got something to do with it, I dont know. A couple of people were really nice but they were the exception. You can feel the economic misery in the country including horrible things like young teenage girls prostituting themselves (observed this in the McDonalds in Maidan Square). Psychologically got to me and I was glad to leave ASAP and fly on to my next destination to be honest. Really sorry to hear about you being attacked like that. Im annoyed that nobody helped you in there. If I was there I would try and stop it. What a bunch of cowards to just let that happen without stepping in. On the police, Ive noticed that police in whole of ex USSR seem to be completely useless. I think your video in Belarus illustrated this well too. They just don't want to do any work. Anyway I hope you've recovered now mate and are stronger from the experience terrible as it was.
All recovered now - don’t get me wrong - one police officer wanted to help - he was last to turn up - the rest seemed to be paid off by club and didn’t want to get involved. Bouncers were clearly just enjoying the show. What I found about the Ukraine People despite the poor economics (it’s getting much better btw) they stay positive and work very hard they make the best out of a bad situation. In any other country Kiev would be a shithole. But these people are strong and determined so they work to make the place great. It’s generally very safe - compare this to third word countries and it’s paradise. The people I found very inspiring.
Dnepr river flows from north to south of Ukraine and in the course of the flow is determined by the side - left bank of the Dnepr (eastern areas of Kiev), right bank of the Dnepr (western areas of Kiev); left bank Ukraine, right bank Ukraine))
Not in Arena city - see google maps link for the precise location (just North of Dynamo Kiev’s Stadium) - thanks for watching btw - maybe a thumbs up and a subscribe if you appreciated the help :) CHI by Decadence House А,, Parkova Rd, 16, Kyiv, Ukraine, 02000 +380 44 466 2013 goo.gl/maps/ifLjrLkC4AJ2
There are bottled milks in Kiev as well and they are very common and cheap relatively. Sometimes the translators tell the people different things from what you actually want to communicate, that's why they give you yogurts.
I always enjoyed the randomness of finding out. I had to admit I never got mad at all my mistakes in the milk aisle I simply found it amusing how I got it wrong so often! :) despite always asking! By the end of my trip I was well versed in Finding Milk for my tea! :) Thanks for watching btw :)
Thanks for the video! It is nice to see my city through the eyes of a person from another country. If you love techno, you can probably check Closer club next time you're in Kyiv. This is an underground place, so maybe it may seem t obe a dangerous one, but I don't think it is. Any way, many people from different cities of EU come there to party. The club is not hi-end as you called Chi, but it has powerful dark raves and very good music with many invited DJs and producers from abroad.
I haven't finish watching yet, well done then :D Good choice! I believe this place has to be visited; Even if you don't like it in the end, it is one of the main night life pillars here.
As a greek that had Saxon at his go list thank you very much if Turks realised two greeks were there maybe we wouldn't have been so lucky as you, thanks again mate
Good job Alex .....Kyiv Europes greatest City ..........Ukraine the Final Frontier of Europe....will be 20 years from now a Leader a Powerhouse Economic,Culture,Agriculture,Education and Military ....Eclipsing major EU countries by far....
Very good Mate.....looking forward to more videos....the quality of the display resolution was good as was the editing ...yes we did watch in entirety :)
Enjoyed ya video ba. I,m in Kiev in October 2018. Unlucky in getting bashed...…..Maybe ya should of sussed that out and kept ya distance so ya can smash the nearest one first. I,ve been started on in Morocco and Mexico and came out on top both times. Stay cool bud and good luck on future trips. Take a few boxing and MMA lessons, be alert and toughen up ba.
There has been several famines in Ukraine but the biggest most dreadful was between 1931-34, 7 million perished genocide from Stalin, thats just 1 atrocity to add to the list of hate towards the Russian, people.
The wondering Englishman thanks! Could I emai/Viber you a question or two? I have been to Odessa but planning on going to Kiev in the fall. Love some advice. Thanks!
RUSSIA INVASION OF UKRAINE WAS FOR OIL AND GAS ! 1. Putin wants deflect his people from economic problems corruption in Russia.. 2. Russian is stealing the vast iron and coal resources in east Ukraine.. 3. Russia taking Oil deposits in black sea and Azov sea 4 Russian only invaded after geologist found the 3rd largest gas fracking reserves in 2013 in Ukriane (Putin was afraid if a EU / US friendly government came to power in Kiev the EU and USA will move in start gas production and the EU will start buying its gas from Ukraine and not Russia ) Ukraine has Europe's 3rd largest shale gas reserves at 42 trillion cubic The vast shale gas reserves Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Lugansk overlooked in the war www.euractiv.com/section/europe-s-east/opinion/russia-s-silent-shale-gas-victory-in-ukraine/ Ukraine to tap gas on Black, Azov Sea shelf www.ogj.com/articles/print/volume-98/issue-48/exploration-development/ukraine-to-tap-gas-on-black-azov-sea-shelf.html
THE REAL 'trojan horse' in EU right now is Putin's own trojan horses better know as putin's friends inside the EU nations government people like like Milos Zeman, Viktor Orbán and La Pen in France and other useful dimwits like Pablo Iglesias Turrión from Spain's Podemos political party and Matteo Renzi Prime Minister of italy and others in high offices in all EU nations PUTIN HAS HIS TROJAN HORSES and they and their families get well taken care of by Kremlin contacts and network insiders and business connections.. All of them and their political party are receiving indirectly and directly financial and funding from the kremlin and have close business deals with Russian state companies... and they are all well known to bang the kremlin drums in the EU JUST LIKE Pro-Kremlin Czech president Milos Zeman.. And the twisted thing about all of this is that when Putin is promoting himself as a supporter of the fare right Putin is using the Syrian refugees as an hybrid war tool to bring down Europe (not the EU ) but European society and La Pen and other are being used as useful idiots in this geopolitical chess game run by the Kremlin's FSB on the orders of KGB Putin I AM NOT SAYING THAT what they are saying about immigration is not correct as IT IS !! and i support their policies regarding immigration and refugees we must close down europe for immigration and refugees influx also we must deport any illegal refugee asap .. What i am saying is that they are being used by Putin as useful idiots in the Kremlins propaganda war for Russia own political agenda... If anyone thinks that Putin and the Kremlin is a friend of the west then they really need their head tested !!! Also there is evidence that Putin's FSB is involved with Russian gangsters in the massive smuggling of refugees into the EU and into Norway to make it Europe unstable.. (when we say Europe it is NOT the EU Putin is really attacking but the European society the west at large to make it unstable and weaken it ) While Russia did not start the refugee crisis they may have found a way to exploit it to further their hybrid war against Europe. While the direct benefits of intervention in Syria are valuable to the anti-West coalition that Russia is forming, the far greater benefit could be a devastating flank attack on European unity. Organized by the FSB Putin is dumping Muslim ''refugees'' on Norway as Norway is a Schengen and NATO country Only 35 have come to Finland, even though Finland has a much longer border with Russia than Norway. But Finland is not a NATO country Norway is NATO and Schengen.. The practical arrangements of the refugee traffic to the Russian-Norwegian border is by the FSB in Murmansk, in partnership with organized criminal groups, the website /www. aldrimer. no/ writes and citing Norwegian intelligence sources who say that it is well known that the FSB, which is also responsible for Russian espionage against Norway, has close ties to the Russian mafia and other criminal groups. In Russia, a very organized transport and support operation is established. In addition to human smuggling, there is also a very professional and extensive sale of bicycles to "refugees", given that it is not allowed to walk across the border. Norwegian or Russian citizens who drive refugees across the border could be punished. The route to the Norwegian-Russian border is also being actively promoted on social media, writes the outlet. Why do they call the war in Syria a Civil War.. both are proxy wars.. both consist of foreign fighters and locals... but as neither war crosses borders I define it as a civil war.
look, in a sufficient number of counties you will find people who have for different reasons desire to live in another countries not making afforts to migrate. due to russian tv and propaganda of high standarts of live in Russia and soviet past of a region, the donbass people is such an example. In a freed parts of donbass there is no revolts against goverment, as u may suppose, and no war between pro-ukrainian and pro-russian activists, most people are not satisfied by the quality of life, but that doesnt mean civil war. Be honest to say that civil war is wrong term if we have envolved third party country that _organized_ seizure of goverment builds and provides military agression after all.
Wonderful report! I haven discovered some new views for myself after 21 years in Kyiv))). Unfortunately, you have omitted one of the image-making sites here - the monument to the founders of Kyiv, though you were very close when strolling Lavra. See this place in my brief version (4 minutes) of Kyiv in the style of Scorpions as per the link below. What I did not like - your hatred of EU spill outs here and there and leads to wrong judgedments over the Ukrainian context. The reality is that in Ukraine there is no other choice but being either pro-European or pro-Russian. When you are against EU, you trend to Russia unconsciously. In your report you call the war "Civil" exactly the way it is called by those, who actually lead it against Ukraine. And even the name of the city is transcribed by yourself in a Russian manner. Another wrong judgement - the bank of the Dnipro is called 'left' simply because it is left, since the river flows downwards from north to south. You saw old people on protest most likely because the protest was held by populists and protesters got some fee for taking part in it. And I omit your numerous judgements about Revolution - they are entire crap. Apart from politics I enjoyed every second of your report! Great Job, pal! Sorry about the police. Revolution actually took place not to have this kind of government ineffectiveness and indifference, but it is still there - so far only one helpful cop is the improvement. I really watched that far!))). Thanks again. Watch the monument to the founders of Kyiv in the very beginning of the clip! Cheers! ua-cam.com/video/ivMgBDuiKso/v-deo.html
Fair play for staying positive after getting attacked. Where did you grab that pizza burger? I'm back in Kiev soon and that might have to be on the agenda.
Hi Nick - Thanks for watching - it's appreciated - The Pizza / Burger I got at Rocka Rabbit Bar & Restaurant www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g294474-d12652474-Reviews-Rocka_Rabbit_Bar_Restaurant-Kiev.html - worth checking out just for the Pizza/Burger - not the most happening of restaurants in Kiev but It was a good meal. What's Six Figure University all about?
5:20 it's not a "MAIDEN SQUARE". It is Maidan (main square) Nezalezhnosti (of independence), or "INDEPENDENCE SQUARE" And, as other people say in comments, it would be good to have more precise information on what happened on Independence Square in 2013-2014. Please learn subject well before saying what you think is true to the world when topic is THAT hot. Also, it is not a civil war on the East of Ukraine. You may check NATO recon data. Check Ukrainian recon data. Check United Nations reports. Nobody but Russia and their best friends say it is civil war to hide Russian military activity in Eastern Ukraine. All the world know who commands so-called separatists and who uses its regular army with military distinction signs taken off (we know that, among other reasons, because many of these guys were taken captive with their russian military documents when they attacked ukrainian positions) Anyway, thank you for warm words about Kyiv ( #KyivNotKiev ) and welcome to Ukraine again :)
is it me or girls dancing basically naked and these clubs seems so primitive? can't agree more with you on despacito irritation. Kiev looks very vibrant though and that is what i like. great video man
Great video. Nightlife in Kyiv is very nice indeed. Too bad you got into trouble, and the police did nothing about it (sounds like gangsters' business). I bet milk hunting was fun. XD
17:56 Palata №6, i suppose... I must say that the night life in Kiev looks pretty much like what we saw here in Warsaw 25 years ago... And there were also many young Englishmen here, hoping for cheap sex, losing their minds (and oftentimes their money and health) while trying to hit on a professional teaser girl... Luckily, in Poland, these times are over... A small hint from a guy from a post-communist country: always make sure that you clearly understand what kind of game you are involved in. (This applies not only to mafia owned night clubs but also to Putin's propaganda.)
The best guide to Kiev bar none ! I've been several times before but never to several of the clubs you showed here. Chi looks great Alex and sorry to see you had that trouble in the other nightclub and disappointed about the inaction of the police there. However as you say Kiev is a fantastic city and recommend anyone to go. Especially liked the left bank, right bank explanation and telling Corbyn and the rest of those luvvies from the political left to stay well over on the eastern side where they belong. Any plans for a return trip to Kiev Alex ?
I plan to return this year - possibly sheen the weather warms up as I very much like the beach clubs of kiev and would like to see some more of the Ukrainian countryside. Hopefully I can document that also. Thank you for watching the video :) where in London are you based?
Thats my thoughts exactly - waiting until the weather warms up. Having been to Kiev around 7 times previously I feel I missed out on the nightlife ( due to the girl I used to date from Ukraine not being a club goer ) as some of those techno playing clubs look definitely my kind of place - devoid of trouble, cool vibes, good music and of course a healthy selection of cocktails : ) . I'm based close to Wimbledon in SW London. I'm usually a solo traveller to Ukraine nowadays ( friends just don't seem as keen to travel to eastern Europe as myself ) and really its great to see people like yourself so enthusiastic about the country - I thought I was the only one ! : ) I'll add you on facebook Alex if thats okay.
I’ve met a few very enthusiastic travellers to Ukraine over the years - I think once they get the bug some of them go more than they go anywhere else (thinking of some Northern friends I have). One of the great countries in Europe / hopefully it won’t change negatively as more people discover it. Sure - always happy to add.
I,m in Ipswich...…..and love Europe and especially eastern Europe.....Ukraine and Georgia are my favourites. Really enjoyed the city of Lviv/Ukraine. Going to Kiev in Oct 2018. Can,t wait. (try Georgia, very cheap, great food and very pretty) Luton to Kutaisi (Wizz Air) and £4 minibus to capital Tblisi from Kutaisi airport. Stay in hotel on bus station site in Tbilisi....everything there.....buses to small towns and metro station into city just a few stops too. Everything you need is at the bus station site....market stalls, shops, bars, food shacks, internet, clothes etc etc......very cheap .Once in city the taxi fare is about £2 anywhere in city limit. Visit the lift to mountain top....old town area and "dry bridge" street market for amazing things to buy. Then metro back to bus station hotel and mini bus back to Kutaisi airport...…..easy trip. Not much to see in Kutaisi...…..mini buses will be at airport for Batumi (coastal town)_.....Kutaisi (5 minutes away or 60-80 minute bus ride to Tbilisi. ….:)
I currently live in Ukraine and i hate it. So difficult to get a place to stay or they will over price and try to cheat you. if they cant cheat you they will tell you to live. And this is happening in kiev. You call to get a place and someone tells you they dont want foreigners in their house. Can you imagine that. And not just once but all the time. And it is so wild spread that you hardly get a place. But they want to go to usa and uk and live like its normal. Imagine trying to get a place in Uk and someone everytime they tell you no foreigners allowed. Wont that be crazy?
if someone in the usa did that to a foreighner they would be crucified!! I live in usa and its getting bad...we are about to have a civil war here...where are you from?
Thanks Khaled - Lesson - don't go to Saxon Nightclub and stay at the bar late. Bad Apples can be found in every city all over the world. Sadly this happened here - I was more shocked by the Bouncers and Police Lack of Action. I've asked for CCTV multiple times - they refuse to supply it.
I am happy you're well. Please inform us what have the police done in this manner. I'll be surprised if the police have done anything to catch these crooks. You keep it up mate. Always your videos are appreciated.
The Police took my number - promised to call me - they did not - I called them - they had me on hold for 45 mins - I eventually gave up. I left a review on Trip Advisor for Saxon. Thanks for your kind words! And same to you sir!
You should leave politics out your videos and concentrate on a beautiful country and people. You're talking a load of crap. Speak to people who were on Maidan at the time. Speak to the Ukrainian people who believed in what they were doing. Watch the real-life videos, then and only then pay respect to those who lost their lives for what they believed, and also to the people who stood up for what they believed.
Nick - I was there in 2013 and 2014 - I've spoken to the people who were there in Maiden - I've also spoken to people who have lost friends in the civil war and who were fighting in the civil war. I wasn't filming back then. I've spent a lot of time in Ukraine talking to people who were involved at Maiden and people who were just in Kiev when it was all going on. I've formed an opinion on what happened because of all these interactions and the research into the fact that George Soros set up an NGO in Kiev which helped start the Protests. I've also looked into the Media channels that suddenly appeared as soon as the Protests started. The video is about Kiev - but its not a video produced by the Travel Channel or a video produced by the Ukraine Tourist Board its a video done by me who actually has a view on Global Politics. If you can illustrate to me how i'm talking crap (with evidence) i would welcome it.
Ukraine was and still is a proxy war by the US against Russia. Having seen the goodies handed out to other FSU countries by the EU the Ukrainians wanted the good life but ultimately the EU did not want another FSU country being in the club. Particularly one with extra close ties to Russia. They still don't. George Soros funded the NGO not for the glory of Ukraine but to line his own pockets which he nicely did after the revolution. How? He owns the biggest company in Ukraine. America didn't stop him because they wanted access to Russia from the south. They had already got from the west through Poland. Note how America stole the Ukrainians gold after the revolution. Were they interested in the Ukraine's? Not on your life. It is argued that shooting on Maidan started from the protester's side. There is no proof that CIA shooters were involved from the police side but only the Berkut. Ultimately these were dark times for Ukraine and the west should keep there nose out of other countries politics, which I must say for Ukraine looks to be in dire trouble.
Most of what you say is correct - with the only exception being the CIA - there isn’t a regime change in the last 50 years they have not been responsible for. The sniper shown in the video wasn’t on the protestors side he and the other snipers were shooting civilians. And it wasn’t sanctioned by the President.
The Globalists erase evidence - there was a video of Rumsfeld looking down at the protests rubbing his hands together and accomplishing a plan. Yet try to find that video now... it’s vanished from the net - I wish I had saved it when I saw it.
Thanks very much - maybe one day I’ll buy a stabiliser - this series was just me doing something for myself - I’ve been surprised by how many people have watched the videos
Alex, making a note 8th min.. entirely ,mostly agree. The president at the time, did actually want a trade deal with the EU,but others put obstacles in the way. There was a reaching out to Europe-think of the football that summer-and maintain strong links with Russia- a MOCT (let u translate that) .In otherwords,he could not serve two masters, one had to go..I was there in 2014 ,in fact i flow in with an EU security group based in Hamburg, and at the time of the Victoria Nuland phone call.My view was very different then until,i saw things with my own eyes.So far, great video, bring back some sad memories. Did you visit the Soviet-style restaurant nr Maiden ? u may have further into the video. (30 MIN ) WRONG! this was a US led operation, not EU. I URGE you to listen to the then,US politician ,Victor Nuland`s infamous phone call. It`s in the public domain. The EU are guilty in respect of actually doing, nothing.and three years to enact a visa -free access for Ukrainian`s to travel into the EU.aS TO THE ww1 casualties, how do you define Ukraine? parts were Austro-Hungarian;parts were Romanov.During the revolution, some fought for ind. some for the Reds;some for the Ukrainian Reds;some fighting againt nearly formed Poland. What i find strange, war memorials to those that fought for the soviet union,at the same time,a country promoting a new Ukraine and certainly an ant-Russian stance .How do you square nationalism and remembering the heroic Soviet victory, then memorial to Bandera? Ukranian`s how do you square this contradiction?(40 min) wrong! basically...the famine -holodomor,not during the first world war,was due to collectisation and the removal of the Kulaks.(min 1.12) You obviously never offered the cops enough bung.Sorry, this is one of the reasons the west as shunned this country.tHE c. word
The Police won't care if you got into the fight in a shitty night club. I am not arguing that's right or wrong I am just saying it essentially the same situation if you went into a bad neighborhood (UK/USA) at night and get robbed. I would just suggest to avoid such places at all.
Atheism and libertarianism don't work. I used to be both. But ultimately, membership in religious and political institutions with definite and agreed upon doctrines and norms isn't really optional; it's effectively mandatory, because they increase the scale of cooperation enough to overcome the diseconomies of scale (up to a point, eventually the diseconomies predominate) and decisively outcompete more fractuous, atomistic, and nihilistic orders. "Just think and do what you want" is not a competitive norm, it can't survive in conflict or competition with others. The best you can do is either to find some religious/political order that suits you, and will have you, or attempt to influence one from within. But if you're going to go against the grain, you better be right, because being wrong comes with steep consequences. If you survive your institutions' internal error correction mechanisms and successfully impose your wrongness on it, your troubles have only just begun...
Thanks for the response. Good video. I've never been to Kyiv. But I really enjoyed western Ukraine. I'm looking forward to going back and seeing more of such a beautiful country. Really amazing how much they've been able to do with so little. Amazing people.
@@TheWonderingEnglishman in case of Ukraine situation is very simple. Ukraine is trying to join eu and nato, but Russian makes everythin possible to make it impossible, because it thinks Ukraine is it's zone of influence.
@@TheWonderingEnglishman Poland that joined corrupt EU 16 years ago has more then twice higher salaries then in Ukraine. This is because Poland has access to EU labour market, goods and food market, had over 50 billions euros of free financial help from eu, has access to cheap loans etc.

Damn man I didn’t watch the video till the end at first and now i did, and i feel sorry that the cops couldn’t help you, even tho they been reformed after revolution, they got body cams and all and much higher salaries and new cars and equipment they are still corrupt and mostly useless.. sorry for that man
No worries. The UK police are probably worse and just as usless. These problems exist in every country on the planet. Thankfully its been the only negative experience I've encountered in Ukraine. There have been thousands of positives since that moment:)

I've seen hookers in Copenhagen - like a lot :O And once - I believe it was one - in Moscow. None in Kiev thou - was there twice last two years so much I loved it, and so my Swedish friends that tagged along. Have spend a day in Chernobyl too, a so worthwhile daytrip. Already miss Kiev but will be meeting same Swedes early summer and going Kharkov(hometown) and hopefully Lvov :D Can't keep going Kiev all the time and nowhere else) (How to squeeze Tbilisi into this its on my list this year - no ideaXD - but it should be pretty straight forward from London)
It does, Western nations have no respect for themselves and refuse stand up for themselves. Living in Stockholm for many years before coming to London, it terrifies me to see what is being done to Swedes, its a sheer Stockholm syndrome raging there.
The Arab/Turkish people that attacked you probably thought you are an Israeli because of your Israeli friends.. It's sad I must say. Me as an Israeli I usually hide my identity when I go abroad because of stuff like that.

Man, techno music after one hour just SUCKS! my ears do not support this kind of music, i mean, probably it must not even called music, and unfortunately , in Ukraine and must of European countries do not know other type of music. This music people do not how to dance it, people just jump in their places. COME ON!!!!
Really? Year is 2018 and you are talking about *civil war* in Ukraine? I let slide some strange stuff about *EU and CIA* being behind the revolution but now telling about civil war? Why don't you go to Donetsk and meet the *Ukranians* from Buriatia and Chechnia and rest of Russia. Ask yourself how can they operate and have more armor then most of Europian countries? Where do the weapons, fuel and spare parts come from? They can afford to Daily shoot at the Ukrainian Soldiers while those have to spare the ammo because they don't have as much ammo.
Does those fighters come with own latest model tanks, artillery systems, advanced anti-Aircraft systems, Electronic warfare systems, certain army newly produced uniforms without ofcourse country tags? Magicly restocking fuel, ammo and damaged vehicels and parts? Does they wave with the same certain country Flag?
Never watch it. However, you only have to see George Soros interviews and tapes of what was going on at the time including my time spent there during the Maiden protests to know it was a CIA / George Soros Coup. You can pretend it wasn’t and can call me a Russian Propagandist if you like but I have zero interest in siding with the Russians on this one. The Globalists are to blame for the mess but thankfully Ukraine is moving along nicely since then despite all the obstacles.
@@TheWonderingEnglishman Fascinating facts, now all that's left is for you to enlighten me on the faked moon landings and the Jewish-Freemason conspiracy/collusion with the reptiloids to enslave the human race. Anyway, you're not welcome in my city, which is called Kyiv, by the way. Good "luck" with your ongoing Brexit, you sure showed those globalists funded by Soros' NGOs the finger.
I’m very aware it’s Kyiv - I now call it Kyiv after all this time - the Title I keep that way as too many people search Kiev I’ve noticed so I get those viewers as opposed to the Kyiv viewers - I may change it soon :) Are you 100% convinced about the moon landings - I want to believe but it’s fair to say the Jury is out.

Stating truths about Soros doesn’t make me believe in All conspiracy theories. You can’t discredit anything I said about Soros. He is on record admitting it.. Also I simply asked you if you believe in the Moon Landings - nothing more.
Mostly enjoyed that. Your commentary was good and you showed much awareness of the political situation and the corruption of the present Zionist backed regime. The snipers were most likely Israeli psychopaths not CIA. Sad to see you hanging out with Israelis. The filming around the city, the churches parks and monuments was great. Too much time spent in those awful "clubs" with that crap "music". Could have done without all that.. Would have been nice to see you interacting with ordinary Ukranians and spending time in ordinary little bars. Victory to the people of Donbass!
Thanks for commenting guys - I have made other Ukraine videos since this - so please check them out also :)
And in Ukraine is not a civil war, Russia is the empire of evil.
The video is good, even I was interested to know more about Kyiv (I live in a 5-hour drive from Kiev), you are a pleasant storyteller. I'm sorry that you are in trouble
Sometimes you run out of luck - it wasn’t Ukrainian people who were responsible :)
you are our guest all the same
The empire of evil is the leftist media.
Kickass video dude!!! Appreciate taking the time!! Definitely shows some great places to check out. Kiev and Odessa are the two cities I want to see more than any in Ukraine!!!
Kiev is one of the most ancient City in the World. Its almost 1500 years old!

True but when looking at a map 🗺- north is up usually - hence the confusion
that is true, but river sides are not oriented in that way. you have to face the river mouth, so your left side is therefore left riverbank :) thanks again for all of these great videos you shared
Enjoyed watching the video as my dad is from Ukraine
Cheers!
I reckon you will have a great time! Kiev is 5 hour train journey from Lviv if it helps
The wondering Englishman Could fly up aswell for relatively cheap. Is it worth it for 2 days even?
Train is probably quicker and more enjoyable if you are in lviv - flight is just silly
1st class train (fast train) tickets need to be booked in advance - there’s train apps). By time you have checked in to and airport done security and also flown in to an airport outside the city and then got into the city the train is better option.
top video, thanks for sharing... I am coming to Kiev in June '19... top recommendations thanks again...

You are paranoid, but still interesting. Protests in Ukraine started, when Berkut roughly beaten students in Maidan square. So you missing something in your story.
And yet it was the Ukrainian official who worked at the American Embassy that ordered the Police to clear the square which resulted in violence. There’s no evidence to suggest this order came from the President.
your formula is rusisa propaganda
Alex. it is not civil war, it is war against russian federation and putin... yoy should explaine it in your next videos...

Thanks for watching - always thought it was curious how the Ukrainians divided the map from that perspective - it’s not normal but it is quaint :)

Thanks for watching
The left bank is just because of the river flow: the river Dnipro flows from North to South so respectively the river banks are considering regarding the river current. That's it

Hello,
I am wondering whether people understand English in Kiev? Also any food places to recommend?

I did google it after I stumbled across the statue - it does seem very loved by the Soviet people :)
Is there any decent 80s bars or clubs in kiev?
80s... you know sometimes if you find the right night you will find 80s.
Cheers for that, 80s synth is mint. Although I can't cope with that techno that you love so much haha. Thanks for the fast reply :)
If you like 80s Synth there’s Techno out there for you ;)
Nice video about your time in Kiev .. i found Kiev and Ukrainian people very ambitious to be in EU and they deserve to be a part of it .. Very hard workers , i visit Kiev every year almost and feel very relax and happy to visit many of its cities. Thank you for this video .. NADEEM

I wish i was there right now - sadly I’m elsewhere - but I’ll return soon _ how long will you be in Kiev?
The wondering Englishman 1st February I leave I'm gonna be honest I'm not feeling this city but maybe it will grow on me
You just arrived ? Sadly I know the weather is terrible there at the moment - there’s plenty to see and do - locals are very friendly

Closer is featured in the video :)
The section of the video where you see a DJ / Producer using a synth.
I haven't finish watching yet, well done then :D Good choice! I believe this place has to be visited; Even if you don't like it in the end, it is one of the main night life pillars here.

Sadly getting hit first from behind isn’t the best start to any scuffle. Thanks for watching though and maybe I’ll follow your advice :)
I like to like your stuff and I like to dislike your stuff keep up the good work!
Don’t dislike too much - it pushes the video down the rankings! :)
There has been several famines in Ukraine but the biggest most dreadful was between 1931-34, 7 million perished genocide from Stalin, thats just 1 atrocity to add to the list of hate towards the Russian, people.
:( hopefully never again
I can't see it happening again now Russia is OUT, once and for all.

RUSSIA INVASION OF UKRAINE WAS FOR OIL AND GAS !
1. Putin wants deflect his people from economic problems corruption in Russia..
2. Russian is stealing the vast iron and coal resources in east Ukraine..
3. Russia taking Oil deposits in black sea and Azov sea
4 Russian only invaded after geologist found the 3rd largest gas fracking reserves in 2013 in Ukriane (Putin was afraid if a EU / US friendly government came to power in Kiev the EU and USA will move in start gas production and the EU will start buying its gas from Ukraine and not Russia ) Ukraine has Europe's 3rd largest shale gas reserves at 42 trillion cubic
The vast shale gas reserves Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Lugansk overlooked in the war

And the twisted thing about all of this is that when Putin is promoting himself as a supporter of the fare right Putin is using the Syrian refugees as an hybrid war tool to bring down Europe (not the EU ) but European society and La Pen and other are being used as useful idiots in this geopolitical chess game run by the Kremlin's FSB on the orders of KGB Putin
I AM NOT SAYING THAT what they are saying about immigration is not correct as IT IS !! and i support their policies regarding immigration and refugees we must close down europe for immigration and refugees influx also we must deport any illegal refugee asap ..
(when we say Europe it is NOT the EU Putin is really attacking but the European society the west at large to make it unstable and weaken it )
While Russia did not start the refugee crisis they may have found a way to exploit it to further their hybrid war against Europe.
And while Russian border guards require a Schengen visa to be let into Russia, there is no such requirement at the border to Norway - to seek asylum.

why do you call the war civil?
Can someone live their if he speaks only English? Plz reply coz iam planning to study there
Thank you for sharing your great work!
Thanks for watching :)
How did you find it?
Cheers!

It is Maidan (main square) Nezalezhnosti (of independence), or "INDEPENDENCE SQUARE"
And, as other people say in comments, it would be good to have more precise information on what happened on Independence Square in 2013-2014.
All the world know who commands so-called separatists and who uses its regular army with military distinction signs taken off (we know that, among other reasons, because many of these guys were taken captive with their russian military documents when they attacked ukrainian positions)
Anyway, thank you for warm words about Kyiv ( #KyivNotKiev ) and welcome to Ukraine again :)
is it me or girls dancing basically naked and these clubs seems so primitive? can't agree more with you on despacito irritation. Kiev looks very vibrant though and that is what i like. great video man
They are showgirls - they certainly all look the part in my mind - it’s a great city
Great video. Nightlife in Kyiv is very nice indeed. Too bad you got into trouble, and the police did nothing about it (sounds like gangsters' business). I bet milk hunting was fun. XD
...but I love England ! ...'hope, see you in London. Anyway, thank you very much for your video.
I even cried when there were shots about the Maidan...
looool with the bird
:)
Красавчег!!))Очень красиво получилось снять мой любимый город!!))Респект!!
Milk is sold in bottles and carton. It is called moloko. Sorry to see what happened to you at the end of the video.
These things can happen in any country. It wasn’t Ukrainians who attacked me. I’ve only had amazing encounters with Ukrainians.
Some great advice
Not a Maidan square!! Square of Independens !! -)
I am so sorry about the attack.
No worries mate.
Every dog has his day and these c**ts will get their day.
You don't give any evidence about the Soros globalist stuff you talk about, but you expect refutations to come with evidence. Inconsistent.
The Globalists erase evidence - there was a video of Rumsfeld looking down at the protests rubbing his hands together and accomplishing a plan. Yet try to find that video now... it’s vanished from the net - I wish I had saved it when I saw it.
All your videos are very good except for video stabilization. Camera shakes to much. Otherwise good job.
Thanks very much - maybe one day I’ll buy a stabiliser - this series was just me doing something for myself - I’ve been surprised by how many people have watched the videos
Btw - thanks for watching :)
Ukranian`s how do you square this contradiction?(40 min) wrong! basically...the famine -holodomor,not during the first world war,was due to collectisation and the removal of the Kulaks.(min 1.12) You obviously never offered the cops enough bung.Sorry, this is one of the reasons the west as shunned this country.tHE c. word
Nice city
are you MI6?
🤫
All very very true and similar to the path I went down.
Thanks for the response. Good video. I've never been to Kyiv. But I really enjoyed western Ukraine. I'm looking forward to going back and seeing more of such a beautiful country. Really amazing how much they've been able to do with so little. Amazing people.
Wonderful country and I think mostly for the people.
wow great video, you showed the best parts of the city! btw there is no civil war in Ukraine :))
Maidan Sq (not Maiden)
Funny I always buy my milk in bottles. Should have gone to the supermarket.
Pictures from Kiev is okay, but aside from that: very strange, kind of amateur-political things, strange....
Thanks for watching - I don’t nod my head to mainstream narrative - it’s usually lies
@@TheWonderingEnglishman in case of Ukraine situation is very simple. Ukraine is trying to join eu and nato, but Russian makes everythin possible to make it impossible, because it thinks Ukraine is it's zone of influence.
You would be crazy to join the corrupt EU. Be strong and be independent.
@@TheWonderingEnglishman Poland that joined corrupt EU 16 years ago has more then twice higher salaries then in Ukraine. This is because Poland has access to EU labour market, goods and food market, had over 50 billions euros of free financial help from eu, has access to cheap loans etc.

No worries. The UK police are probably worse and just as usless. These problems exist in every country on the planet. Thankfully its been the only negative experience I've encountered in Ukraine. There have been thousands of positives since that moment:)

It’s the oldest trade in the world - there isn’t a city in the world that doesn’t have hookers! Kiev is a wonderful city it’s in my Top 5 in Europe.
and the winner is... Amsterdam.. for hookers at least :]]] Haven't been there, so wouldn't vouch for other values just yet :)
I nearly got Mugged by Moroccans in Amsterdam they are known to Cause Crime in Holland.
Sadly crime is spiking all over Europe due to importing people of a similar nature
Sadly I think you are probably right
You haven't smiled once! lol
Not true! :)
Just not flashing my teeth that much!
but the airport is closed now because of the russian terrorists 😢
Boring...
Glad you are safe. You should always travel with a female American lawyer. 😉 Kiev has small tribute to those slaughtered at Babi Yar.
There isn’t always an American Lawyer available - they have such busy schedules I hear! But yes I survived :) thanks for watching (again) :)
The wondering Englishman you would be amazed the number of times in Central America and occasionally Europe it helps to be a lawyer. Safe travels.
I don’t doubt you - sometimes I’ve wished I had a lawyer with me! :)
You might want to try a few more civilized places that also have sushi.
85+ countries seen so far - I intend to see the rest :)
So that's why UK is going Brexit because of EU do nothing.
One of the many many reasons
Lviv croissants better than ANYWHERE IN FRANCE.....REALLY ??!just WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR HE LAST 30years Bro??Must be kidding or pretty ignorant (of Michalak worl's best Pâtissier Pierre Hermé and a BUNCH others yet .pfuiiit!!really
Have you been to Lviv Croissants? I’m in France every year multiple times a year my parents live in France. Please let me know where the best is as generally they aren’t exceptional.
Man, techno music after one hour just SUCKS! my ears do not support this kind of music, i mean, probably it must not even called music, and unfortunately , in Ukraine and must of European countries do not know other type of music. This music people do not how to dance it, people just jump in their places. COME ON!!!!
Define Techno - the relief is finding Techno Music when most of the world only plays Bad EDM
Has the war in Syria been a Civil War? Despite Syria being overrun by foreign fighters....
Are you saying that its not civil war in Syria? That people in Syria is not trying to overthrow the nice guy syrian President?
Of course Syria is a Civil War and yet the majority of the fighters are foreign fighters and yet you accept that is a civil war....
They’ve been armed by the CIA and NATO so the answer is yes (re Syrian rebels) thankfully this has been stopped since Obama left office
what's wrong with you? watch russia today much? smh
I’m very aware it’s Kyiv - I now call it Kyiv after all this time - the Title I keep that way as too many people search Kiev I’ve noticed so I get those viewers as opposed to the Kyiv viewers - I may change it soon :)
Are you 100% convinced about the moon landings - I want to believe but it’s fair to say the Jury is out.
@@TheWonderingEnglishman Haha, I was right on the money. Your kind is exceedingly predictable. Watch out for that Nibiru X planet and stay clear of the gay propaganda, you don't want to get infected.
Stating truths about Soros doesn’t make me believe in All conspiracy theories. You can’t discredit anything I said about Soros. He is on record admitting it.. Also I simply asked you if you believe in the Moon Landings - nothing more.
The author argues with the stamps of Russian propaganda. I'm from Ukraine and I want to say in this video a lot of lies
LOL
nadyas turf 😂
Dude, you haven't got a clue of what you are talking !
Good day!

Victory to the people of Donbass!
stop cherry picking and go to the poor parts and see how beautiful the cities are
I try to go everywhere...
