hello from ireland . like your videos and may head to belarus myself very soon , as an irishman in minsk lol. the empty shopping centre at 9:09 is a smiliar faith in many rural irish towns im afraid so not just belarus
Thank you :) Recent reports suggest Minsk is doing much better now and that shopping centre may now be a lot busier - I’m looking forward to returning at some stage :)
That's very pleasing to hear - when I visited I went there with a local and they had said it had been open for a year + However I imagine they were wrong - I appreciate the update and its pleasing to hear such a beautiful city is doing well.
The library building is lighted at night and looks awesome. The outside surface of that "spaceship" is made of LCD screens and they can make quite a light show.
I saw it one night when I was taking in a bar nearby - sadly didn’t have a working Camera when that was happening - certainly could of passed for a Spaceship if it had been flying also :)
Hi! Nice video...but I've got a question. How expensive is the health insurance that you need to get in the airport? I've heard that around 100 euros? Sth like that? And it's compulsory, right? Thx in advance for the answers!
87acho hi - thanks for watching! The price of the insurance is roughly 25 euros - I sadly had to purchase it twice as the lady who sold it to me didn’t get my dates correct so I had to purchase it again. Make sure you get the dates right when you buy it.
The locks on the bridges are from weddings. On wedding day couples will go to all of the war monuments and lay some flowers an or take pictures also new couples will put these padlocks on bridges and they say their love will last as long as the padlocks are not opened. You will find these on bridges everywhere in FSU.
That's awesome - I had no idea - I assumed it was just people in Love - but now knowing its done by those that get married that's even more romantic and touching seeing so many locks all over the city.
yes, it is, maintenance workers and such try to avoid removing at all costs, many are 60-70 or more years old an you probably saw many have dates and names carved into them.

+ezequielc11 when I arrived despite asking for directions there seemed to be no train from minsk airport. I looked into this while I was there and it seemed to be impossible. Can you prove me wrong? Did I really miss the opportunity to take the airport train?

Nice thanks for letting me know. I wasn't sure if Uber would be there or not. Is there a secret to getting the airport wifi to work over there? Usually in international airports it just comes on with no passwords needed or anything. ps your channel is awesome btw. hope you continue creating good content and it gets much more popular. Peace.
+zatara wood thanks :) the Channel is a little bit of a hobby lately - it's a way to document travels - been travelling since April - when you travel alone it's a way to vent thoughts. In regards to wifi I hope you can just connect - I did when I was leaving simply connect - but like I said when I arrived it simply wasn't working. This is the thing about wifi - I've found when travelling sometimes it works great and then the next day in the exact same place it won't work.

About belarus ruble. It's not overrated at the moment, in fact exchange rate grew over last time from 2.2 for a US dollar to 1.9, because of a new government money policy.
