As the most of the capitals, Kyiv is not cheap as other ukrainian cities to visit. It has a many overpriced tourist places such as that restaurant. Even 30$ for a hostel per night it is pretty expensive for Kyiv. Usually a whole studio flat costs 20-25$ on airbnb. With a european lowcosters such as Ryanair and Wizzair (for example, Kharkiv-London flight started from 10 euros) the trip could be really cheap. I suggest you next time to visit Lviv and Odessa, Carpathian mountains, Black Sea, Dnepr river, etc, etc. As for the bills in restaurants, I must say as ukrainian, it's a tourist prіce. I'm sure you can find a better borsch and "chicken kiev" cheaper an tastier, even in Kyiv. And it looks like you had never taste a true ukrainian cuisine... I agree. Hey Gabe, pretty cool video. I have been to Ukraine about 5 times. You definitely need to visit during spring summer time. I have seen many comments about Lviv. Wow, Gab, I am impressed by your travel spirit!
It's a shame you've endured such cold and not been to Podil or Obolon Embarkment which IMO are Kyiv's jewels in the crown. Please come again but in the warmer time of the year and for a longer stay. Thanks for cool video tho :)
It's refreshing to see you travelling these cooler areas while we escaped to the heat of South East Asia!
hi from Kyiv. thenks for coming. Wellcome back
You could go to the Tower of Sophia's Cathedral. It is just 60 grn. It is used as an observation deck, the views from there are amazing and the Tower itself is interesting too
Love your adventures Gabe! You do visit some pretty cool places not many other vloggers would even go to, keep it up 👍

The size of eastern europe cities is scary a bit gigantic

You almost missed one of the most sacred and ancient sites in Ukraine - Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (it’s close to the Motherland statue)
Great overview - thank you. Hope to travel to Ukraine next year or so - 2020/21 (Ukrainian heritage).
Hi Gabriel, I'm glad you came to Ukraine. I hope you like it. Next time come to Lviv :)
Thanks, I'd like to see Lviv, I've heard nice things.
I noticed that the video was a bit grainy at one point, and thought there might be something wrong with my resolution. It quickly got better. I did not notice any other difference while watching, but now that you mention it, the audio was very clear.
Strange, maybe your internet connection slowed down for a minute. I didn't notice any parts of the video that were grainier than other parts.
Good introduction clip, fab!
