Can I just say (because no one else will comment about it) I love the 'outro' . The intro is amazing, in your face, the viewer knows that their halo thirst will be quenched! The outro is so simple! It's fantastic! Keep it up mate! I've watched loads of different halo UA-cam channels over the years and your videos are easily the best. Covering more detail or odd topics that halo lore fans love. Anyway, could you recommend any halo books/novels formme to start with. I've played the games and I think it's time to start reading the books now. Thanks for the great videos!
You forgot to mention on Jenkins story that he attempted to destroy a key part of the ship, and failed as his captors prevented him. The true hero was another marine, Lieutenant McKay, had seen how desperate Jenkins was in trying not only to end his suffering, but prevent the escape of the flood. McKay pulled the pin on a grenade next to the weak point, and Jenkins wispered a thank you before the detonation ended everyone's lives on that ship.
Yeah I'd say that's the most important detail in Jenkins' story. An entire ODST company could've survived and made it off Alpha Halo and back to Earth onboard a Covenant ship. The ODSTs were capable enough that they managed to secure important sections of the ship even though it was infested with both Covenant and the Flood. I got the sense that they could've possibly secured the entire ship and get back safely if only Major Silva wasn't too hasty to take off and instead patiently let his troops sterilize the ship. Lieutenant McKay could've tried to change Silva's mind, but she didn't want to take any chances. McKay saw she was in control at that moment, she had the perfect chance to secure the threat. And so she made the hard choice to kill everyone onboard to be absolutely certain no Flood would escape.
ZacEffron, the Flood did perform one surprise attack into the engine room in an attempt to take it from the ODSTs, but that swarm was eradicated in less than a minute and the entrance they used was welded shut. After that they started debating whether they should sweep the ship of any and all Flood or not. This to me says that they could've been capable of fully securing the ship had they all agreed to focus on that. Plus I find it way more interesting when big difficult sacrifices are put into question in terms of whether they were actually necessary or not.
Glowaru again the flood knows how to hide. They don't need much space and that ship is insanely large. "A single floodspore can destroy a species". Johnson knew there were more aboard and they didn't have any time before the ring exploded to clean the entirety of it
Funny seeing Halo 2 with that crazy FOV at the beginning. I love the Halo CEA terminal that shows the flood trying to break Keyes' mind. Especially if you've read 'the Flood'.
Something about actually being able to see your own characters arm has a realistic touch to it that not enough games approach lol. I hope terminals come back into the halo franchise soon for more creepy and eary cutscenes, they were an amazing addition.
Yeah especially that part in Halo: The Flood, where it went in depth on how keyes would slowly lose every precious memory to the proto-gravemind and to top it off it was demonstrated as being washed away by a "flood"! Just brilliant simply brilliant, one of the few parts in that book that were actually interesting lol.
I personally would love to see a flood mode on the Mona Lisa with a horror ambiance and jump scares with Armor that you could specifically unlock in that mode like a hazmat spartan armor
I think Jenkins story is the most painful but the least creepy as he stayed Wallace Jenkins and even though he was mutated and contorted his comrades recognised him and he them. Which is also why Da Silva wanted to bring him back to earth, it suggested Jenkins could still be salvaged. Of course this was stupid so Jenkins begged McKay to stop Da Silva.
The necromorphs are still scarier imo and i think thats just because ive known the flood for so long. Like if the huge flood tentacles actually grabbed you and tried to drag you away mid-game thatd raise the bar. They need to make a stand-alone odst-type game (basically where you are just a normal human not a spartan) where its a utter survival during a brutal flood outbreak. 343 has no idea how much money theyd make if they did that. Maybe like from a forerunner’s point of view as the flood land on the planet. And have a Halo: Reach type ending where at the end, the battle is lost and the planet is overtaken. Fucking goldmine for 343; as much as they go for money grabs nowadays.
Thomas Morales agreed! You should copy and paste your comment then send them it. 😂 These companies LITERALLY have full control over what they make but never, never, NEVER follow the cool ideas their communities think up. It's ridiculous and shows you just how horrible the industry, and media in general, actually is.
There's also something more twisted on Seaward that doesn't involve the Flood: though the Forerunners there are supposed to be unconnected and therefore unmonitored by their own governments and any authority whatsoever, it turns out that even their mundane items like chairs and walls had secret monitoring devices embedded in them without them knowing at least single bit... even the advanced paintbrush Soma was using had its own recorders, recorders that sent important information to the Forerunner leaders, both governmental and military, about the return of a dreaded foe. Hmm, I think I should get Halo: Fractures if and when I can. Wasn't that hyped, since it was connected to the much lambasted Halo 5: Guardians story arc, but those few stories ultimately unconnected with it might be gems to read.
Honestly though if the jet brush is only able to paint what it sees and does it extremely well why not just take a picture with equally good technology? Hell taking a picture still would have more of the artist’s soul in it, at least you actually held it up and took a picture and whatnot.
im assuming interrogating a flood host would be overwatched by an oni operative? and if so, Oni don't destroy assets, they store them for later use. Jenkin's might still be alive but cryo stored for either study or attempted cure's. least, thats only IF there was an Oni operative there who knew about the newly captured "jenkins" and thats a very big if... but it would be pretty cool to see.
Master Chief & the Spartans were instrumental weapons during the Human Covenant War but there's no doubt that without the courage and sheer willpower of the Marines Humanity would've lost.
It's so strange how you look back on games and, at the time, they were seriously like looking at a diamond version of graphics and game play. Then you go a few years without looking at them and come back, and you realize that, I mean of course the Halo graphics were always great and they worked well, but holy shit. I don't know, I am sure others know what I mean and feel the same way xD
When I read Halo "the flood" The ODSTs captured the truth and reconciliation but Major Silva wanted to be a hero and was drunk with being said hero that when Wellsley urged him to reconsider he stated that "My decision is Final" knowing that still a portion of the ship was still infected but he also wanted specimens alive for research. This next part is word for word. McKay realized that the lay in her hands, and that although it was horrible almost beyond comprehension, it was simple as well. So simple that even the grotesquely ravaged Jenkins knew where his duty lay. Slowly, deliberately, the Marine crossed the deck to the point where the guard stood, told him to take a break, took one last look around, and triggered the gernade. Jenkins, still unable to speak, managed to mouth the words "thank you." Silva was too many decks removed to feel the explosion, or to hear the muffled thump, but was able to witness the results firsthand. Someone yelled "The controls are gone!" The deck tilted as the Truth and Reconciliation did a nose-over, and Wellsley made one last comment. " You taught her well, Major. Of that you can be proud of." Then the bow struck, a series of explosions rippled the length of the hall, and the ship, as well as all of those aboard her, cease to exist." I don't know if halos expanded universe contradicts each other or which is truth, but here's another story of Private Wallace A. Jenkins
Need to make a game where you’re a marine on a flood infested ship and you’re trying to escape and everything is dark and creepy. Like Alien Isolation but flood😂. And when you get near spores you have to put a half gas mask on
HOLY SHIT! Halo: Fractures "Defender of the Storm" was written by Troy Denning!!!!! He is one of my favorite all time Authors! Just think about what that Audiobook must be like. Gotta buy it.
Im not sure if the story of Jenkins is inaccurate or not. In the Halo: The Flood novel, it tells a similar story of Jenkins being captured and taken to Alpha Base where he was interrogated by McKay and taken aboard the truth and reconciliation where McKay understood jenkins and destroyed the ship, killing all the flood, and the ODST's on board.
Wow, what an interesting way to introduce the flood. As a mysterious extra-galactic mystery rather than the dust of some stupid pre-cursors to the forerunners. God I hate all the fan-fiction level writing since 343 took over.
Just make a halo side game where you are a normal marine/odst and flood are invading and you have to work together to survive kinda left 4 dead style with levels
You mean intergalactic space because interstellar means a space between two stars but intergalactic means the space between two Galaxy's and in halo they almost never leave the galaxy
@@PG_Biggins i think that if you take alien: covenant, switch aliens with flood and put a Resident Evil game mecanics and terror style would be awesome
It’s funny. The Halo games are pretty PG-13 for the most part, but then the books are just all-out hard R ratings. I remember being so disturbed reading about Jenkins. Poor guy. But it was stories like that that helped make the Flood from just “space zombies” into something truly horrifying.
*APuckettCinema* I remember playing Halo for the first time, thinking, "hey, this is pretty badass and nothing that I could possibly find scary in here", but oh boy, when you find out that lore, it's completely different and terrifying.

Do you have the names of the soundtrack pieces that play throughout the video?
what if you did videos on the lore novels instead of showing us flood video after flood video?
1. Ancient Machine from H2
2. Haven from H4
3. A Path (CoD: Zombies) Origins
4. Infirmary Theme (CoD: Zombies) Mob of the Dead
5. Sacred, Sanctified, Defiled from H2A
6. Rainbow 6 Siege Outbreak Theme
7. Blow Me Away instrumental (Breaking Benjamin) from H2
Much obliged.

Glowaru they knew of the chiefs plan to explore the ring, they didn't have the time to wipe the ship clean

No

I love the Halo CEA terminal that shows the flood trying to break Keyes' mind. Especially if you've read 'the Flood'.
Yeah, that cutscene is so well done and so damn horrifying lmao, and yeah Halo looks SO much better at a high FoV, 110 is the GOAT
Something about actually being able to see your own characters arm has a realistic touch to it that not enough games approach lol. I hope terminals come back into the halo franchise soon for more creepy and eary cutscenes, they were an amazing addition.
Holy shit.. My two favorite UA-cam channels!
Edit: Master Chief vs DOOM Guy.
lol

5:40 I hear that Mob of the Dead music. You’re a cultured man, I see.
Mob & Origins, good maps back in the fay
Captain Keys was a gnarly story too. He basically watched himself die in his mind.
We need a game just for Jenkins. His whole character build up in UNSC to his final moments.
I recognize the Rainbow Six: Siege year 3 season 1 music in the background :D
I guarantee that the Jenkins story will be in here
7:07
Nice Siege Op Chimera music
It actually fits in really well with the flood and the Pvt. Jenkins story
I personally would love to see a flood mode on the Mona Lisa with a horror ambiance and jump scares with Armor that you could specifically unlock in that mode like a hazmat spartan armor

Geez!!! and i thought the Necromorphs were scary.

I still think necromorphs are worse. At least the gravemine can talk.

holice kaderli III honestly one on one a Necromorph would probably shred a flood combat form both using a giant swarm flood might win
And now 3 most scary stories of the flood-
Number 15 Burger King flood lettuce
HiddenXperia: Whilst Jenkins was watching everyone
of his squad getting infected other than Sargent Johnson
Me: And Chips Dubbo
Mob of the dead music, nice
“Futuristic paintbrush” Uhh, a camera?
RB6S theme fits well with this video
Damn I loved the fact that you used the Rainbow 6 siege Year 3 season 1 main theme. This soundtrack suits it very well and recognize it anywhere
Jeez we got to eat some how
New intro is so much better good editing and thanks for the awesome videos and lore!!!
No love for Mona Lisa? That one gave me chills.
I've said it so many times to myself we need a flood firefight or game.
Marine: exists
Flood infection form: it free real estate
love how you put music from Rainbow Six Siege Operation Chimera. Kinda matches with the zombie infection theme!
Imagine a strategy game where you're the flood and you spread though the galaxy while fighting the forerunners
Man do another flood horror story man that shit is the bomb I like how you get into the story
We need a halo spin off with Marines, we got ODST, let's have one with the only NPCs I go out of my way to save in combat

I'd say Defender of the Storm had a pretty happy ending, or as happy as you can get in a Flood-focused story

BTW the music in the background is Rainbow 6 Siege's Operation Chimera Theme
Lmao I love that you put the rainbow chimera theme in the background.
Man . Rainbow6 outbreak soundtrack blended in sweet with this video . Especially at the end.
I like the use of R6S chimera theme, it really fits for jenkins.
Why is Amino shilling itself so hard
The Senate *shrugs*
The Senate there working for oni
That intro is awesome
The music makes it so much more creepy
Need to make a game where you’re a marine on a flood infested ship and you’re trying to escape and everything is dark and creepy. Like Alien Isolation but flood😂. And when you get near spores you have to put a half gas mask on
I hear that Rainbow Six operation Chimera music in the background of the last story
It's actually scary... One single Flood spore can lead to a disaster.
Please allow a moment of silence for Jenkins.
I like how this is based on halo and one of the songs in this video in the background is rainbow six siege operation chimera
HOLY SHIT! Halo: Fractures "Defender of the Storm" was written by Troy Denning!!!!! He is one of my favorite all time Authors! Just think about what that Audiobook must be like. Gotta buy it.

Wow, what an interesting way to introduce the flood. As a mysterious extra-galactic mystery rather than the dust of some stupid pre-cursors to the forerunners. God I hate all the fan-fiction level writing since 343 took over.
This so called flood will face JUSTICE BECAUSE ITS JUSTICE TIME FOR THEM
at 7:18 the music he used is from operation chimera in rainbow six siege lol
Just make a halo side game where you are a normal marine/odst and flood are invading and you have to work together to survive kinda left 4 dead style with levels
Epic intro
I remember the first time that we fight the flood on halo wars, that damn flood spores and infection forms...many soldiers died...
That operation Chimera loading music tho
About to go to sleep and saw this... what’s the worse that could happen?
R.I.P Jenkins
For private Jenkins that’s just like 15 percent of necromorphs
And another thing. How do they infect ships? Advanced logic plague? The meddlers could they have survived eithout flood interference? My point is wtf
I used to have nightmares about the flood
Peep the siege soundtrack in the background at 7:17
What are the specific sources of these stories? I'm interested in reading them.
That Operation Chimera sound track tho
The halo CE keys terminal that shit creepy
7:04 sadly i didn't get to see what they looked like
Do all 3 stories come from the forerunner's experience or does the second and last story come from the others like the humans and the covenant?
Badass intro...
I love this video I've watched this channel science you had 30k
Found it, you talk about Jenkins.
I really like the last one
I don’t fear the flood... THEY FEAR ME...
Look at my PFP. Everyone fears me.
Operation chimera theme
I heard the rainbow six op chimra song from the main menu
The flood are like an alien zombies
I love the r6s music and bo3 zombies music in the background
If *ONI* we knew more I wonder why we don’t
I wonder of these are actually scary lol just startin vid!! Love your channel tho bro!!
You mean intergalactic space because interstellar means a space between two stars but intergalactic means the space between two Galaxy's and in halo they almost never leave the galaxy
Jenkins is a hero
3rd story the background music is from rainbow six siege
Shit dude that was scary as hell
Starts at 1:28
Lmao I knew the music for story #3 was familiar #R6Siege 😂😂🔥
Still waiting for a flood/forerunner standalone game. Plz bungie.
I like thet reinbow six siege operation outbreak music in the back
Is it just me or does the music around 8:38 the music the lobby music of r6 during operation chimera
It is
Rainbow 6 siege outbreak music operation Chimera in the background
That siege music tho
poor jenkins
Wait how did Jenkins inform ODSTs without getting killed and with no physical control?
Wait perhaps the forerunner is still alive
What is the song that play's when he is talking about Soma?
So without the flood there wouldn't be Halo Games
what was the music used for private jenkins part
Anyone else notice the Rainbow 6 Siege menu music?
Rainbow Six Siege Operation Chimera Music for the title screen
We really need Flood horror games.
I know what you mean, however I cant escape that eerie feeling on mission 343 guilty spark.
Halo: Flood Chronicles.
A halo mode where you play as an infection form all the way up to proto gravemind
Resident evil style
@@PG_Biggins i think that if you take alien: covenant, switch aliens with flood and put a Resident Evil game mecanics and terror style would be awesome

Zer0 McNer0 The games are like Weenie Hut Jr’s, and the expanded universe is the fucking Salty Splatoon.
APuckettCinema Couldn't have said it better myself.
APuckettCinema well the only gorey parts of the halo games is when fighting the flood.
I'd rather fight Necromorphs than the flood, hands down.
