The background music is the real trick to all the likes with this presentation. K mart used this music to great effect to lull people into a shopping euphoria with a simple, pleasant, barely audible positive soundtrack designed to comfort and sooth. I have already watched it 18 times to listen to and confirm the full effect. I think I will watch it again!
Thank you so much for this video!!! Holy smokes! I was going to use Brasso to polish my antique German coin silver purse which is basically not silver, but nickel and just bought the Simichrome after watching this. Can't wait to try it out. You are awesome!
My dude! You are the MVP. I've been calling around to different plating shops, trying to find the best way to restore my cloudy WFL hardware. You've answered my prayers!
Been using Happich Semichrome since my military days (1980-2005) then continued using it on drums and my fire service badges and attachments. My uncle had used it on his police uniforms since 1971. I just loved the stuff. You really need a good buffer at the volume you are doing. Sure saves time and energy.
Oh, I really wish I had a buffer for sure! This was a long time ago when I was still doing repairs in the spare bedroom. I had one in my workshop when I lived in Michigan, but nowadays its hard to get the tools when you move around the world :)
Thank you sooo much for this. I hope I can find it for my 1966 Ludwig black Oyster pearl 14 X 5 3/8 snare, apparently valued between $5000 and $10,000.
I'm a custom rifle builder and 1000yd Benchrest shooter. A lot of guys in my line of work are control people or true perfectionist if you will. I use Simichrome a lot and it's the best. My father even use to use it when he was a kid on motorcycle parts. It's got crushed industrial diamonds in it. Plus it's German which is where my lineage is from
Thank you for posting this! I just got a '59 Ludwig Pioneer with Nickel hardware that is cloudy. I've been looking for a way to get the lugs shining again. I just cleaned my '50s WFL, but now I'm thinking I need to re-do it using this product!
@@NuDrums Simichrome ended up working very well for my '59 Trans Badge Pioneer. It honestly made it look brand new again. I've since used it on my '52 WFL Contest model snare; and now my '58 WFL Buddy Rich Super Classic snare. And I just ordered 3 more tubes on Amazon - great stuff! I also thought I took the nickel plating off because it looked more like chrome after buffing.
I've got a coffee espresso machine that's nickel plated that I got from junk yard this thing is so beautiful needing to restore its looks will try. Why not use a small buffer machine on them parts.
@@NuDrums thank you for the response. Just ordered a large jar. I love brasso but it does lack the shine. Have you ever tried the simichrome on cymbals?
Hey there! I wouldn't know how it looks today, as I actually sold the drum a couple years ago. But the shine looked just as good before I sold it, approx one year. It's seriously good stuff!
@@NuDrums I just ordered some! I'm excited to make that nickel shine up! I did read that it is supposed to act as a protective coating. Thanks for video - super helpful!
Modern chrome parts on drum kits made in China can corrode in 10 years or less. Manufacturing standards have really sunk in the 21st century. That's why there are so many drum kits in landfills. I wish I had hardware that could last 20 years. It looks like your nickel part already has scratches on it. This means it is doomed to corrode in the future. The amount of corrosion protection afforded by Simichrome depends on the compounds it includes to enable passivation. Please comment on how long this lasts.
Hi there! I answered this in another comment, but essentially from what i saw, the polish lasted strong for the year I owned the drum I had put these on. After that I'm not sure, but it's absolutely the best metal polish I've ever used, hands down. Thanks for the comment!

Great to hear!
This guy at a truckstop gave me the same one you're using I tried it on one of my chrome covers and holy crap looks brand spanking new

I've got some hardware and accessories for a 1924 Ludwig & Ludwig bass drum .
Thanks .

Great Idea! I simply didn't have one at the time though :/ Now I have a buffing whell, so its much easier now :D
Wow! Great stuff but it’s not legal for sale in California. No one will ship it to California. Bummer
Maybe one day! One can always hope!
Wow!
I bought a vintage 'Champion and Wilson' Nickel bridle rack {Probably 1920's?} and it is really is dull...I need this paste!
Go get some :)
@@NuDrums I will! Cheers :)
How are they holding up? KBS coatings has a rattle can clear coat that you could apply after polishing. You'd never need to polish them again!
I had the drum for about a year before I had to sell it... but it still looked like new!
After 6 years and a ton more experience, would you still say that "Simichrome Polish" is the best product to use for this use case?
So far, yes. Now, ultrasonic cleaning is definitely easier to get close, bit finishing up with simichrome is just so satisfying

@@emrahercancakir no, I have not. I usually use Bar Keepers Friend because its just so freaking quick and easy.
@@NuDrums that's my go to as well. ❤️ Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience 🙏
@@emrahercancakir thank you!
Just saw this video, would you recommend this to nickel plated stuff?
Yes, absolutely. The lugs I polished in this video were nickel plated.
I got to try this on an old oil lamp
I used this stuff on my nickel plated brass oil lamp and it restored the mirror finish so beautifully!
How has the SimiChrome polish held up after all this time? Still protecting the finish? Thanks!

FLITZ - Best Polish I've ever used.
I've tried Flittz to restore some of my metal antiques and it has been a disappointment to tell the truth.
this is awesome thanks
Thank you for watching!
Hello it works on tama black nickel hardware ?
@@jcdrums2798 as far as I know, it should work great on black nickel, probably not on powder coated though.
Ok Thanks your
Will this work on a nickel over brass shell?
Yes I think it will be just fine. :) If you are unsure try a tiny bit on a hidden area first.
@@NuDrums Thanks!

How long would you say the polish stays on for?
Hi, thanks for the view! I only had this drum for about a year after I polished it before I sold it, but it looked just as good after a year!

Yes, you definitely can do this... I wasn't exactly the most experienced in talking to the camera. Can you tell? :P
Be a tad more concise!
Thanks for the feedback! I really feel like I've gained a little more confindence talking to a camera since I made this video :)
