I'm replacing a toca mechanical drum head and having problems aligning the bolts with the holders because there are 8 of them and they are indented from the edge. I've tried tying a cord around the bolts to kinda hold them in place, but I still foresee difficulties.

Thank you for this video! Thank you for being as detailed as possible as I contemplated doing this tear down. This video has also shown me that I really dont want to do it. Perhaps just replacing the bearings as the right pedal is sticking. I have only ever owned a cheap set of PDP pedals and Iron Cobra Power Glides and never had issues like I do on this pedal. I'm just glad someone out here made a video for it, and for that I salute you.

im not going to lie, it sounds like cold wet garbage. but with a guitarist or a saxophonist on a street corner it will come alive, thats usually where these suitcase kits really shine

This might be the best edited instructional video I have seen, just in general. For drum hardware specifically, I did not realize that work of this quality was even possible. The beater polishing part also was a marvel, and that was probably one of the easiest steps here. You were of course also correct about the 2mm grub screws thank you. I managed to get them out after a more careful rewatch of that part.

next time try with a MrClean magic eraser.

How did you get the outer bearing off in the slave shaft shown around the 8:07 mark? I'm attempting to replace all of my bearings on a Pearl double pedal and my bearings don't just fall out. I have two identical double pedals and both set of bearings on the mini shaft are stuck.

Hey dude! Great videos. I could watch these build videos for days. It’s funny how everyone always thinks “oh I should’ve done this” Hindsight is 2020. I just built one also, and didn’t really use any template. Just let it rip! I think it’s a lot more fun that way, and leads to some unique ideas!

Replace the ball bearings (they're noisy as hell) and the drive shaft with a Trick version.

So I take it the repro aftermarket drum logo decals will adhere properly to Remo 'Fiberskyn' or Evans '56 Calftone heads? I've read that the decals don't adhere so well to regular coated heads like coated Ambassador or coated Diplomat heads or any heads with the applied 'grainy feel' coating. I know uncoated (smooth) heads will work fine but I'd prefer to use a Remo Fiberskyn or Evans Calftone if I can.

I have stock UT heads and people say the UT is not very good. But I still want my sonor logo on my base drum so how would I go about getting a new head? Do most pros actually buy decals?

I got someone to replace the skin on my drum as I had little time before a flight & they didn't do the best job so I want to re-do it myself before I shave the hair and tune it, just wondering if that's possible or will it ruin the skin to re-soak it?

Greetings from K-Zoo ,couldn't help but notice all the Mi stickers including the Bell's Brewery bumper sticker . I'm making one of these today .I'm going to use a tom to mount a head for the bass, I took the legs off a cheeeep hi-hat stand so it will mount to the side .I did go with a 10" snare that will be mounted ,I'm cutting down another tom for the floor that will mount ,and have one leg .Last, one mounted L arm for a cymbal ,and for the big finish 6" & 8" roto toms mounted to the top ! the only thing that doesn't go inside the case is the throne .
