@@blee3ee one of the primary reasons I liked the Premium Plus over the other trims were that it’s pretty similar to the luxury trim while being atleast 5k cheaper. Toyota got a lot of things right for the 4th gen and a lot of that is carry over ,just be mindful of getting the engine up to temperature on short trips. About the power difference, the 350h’s deficit in power is not noticeable from stop and go traffic due to the electrical assist imo. As for reliability and ease of maintenance, when you really break it down, the 350h is just a simple naturally aspirated motor with a couple electric motors and battery pack attached which Toyota has been perfecting for decades. Whereas the 350 has a brand new unproven turbo motor. Additionally, the turbo motor will be the more stressed powertrain out of the two requiring boost and therefore additional engine stress for that added power whereas the 350h can rely more on the electrical assistance to take the load off the naturally aspirated engine (a already unstressed motor) during acceleration off the line, where a lot of the mechanical wear and tear of a powertrain occurs.

Hey Kirk. There have been a lot of complaints about Lexus' interior quality. Part of me thinks that they are using more soft-touch synthetics for longevity. Even the Lexus seats are now synthetic leather. If you look at older cars, the first signs of wear and tear are the seats and the dashboard. What do you think?
@@dsdddsd4543we I think those are coming from people who are viewing the new interiors from online instead of being there and touching the tangible materials in the new RX. Even in comparison to our last gen 2018 Lexus RX there is a noticeable positive difference in material quality. The dash has better high quality soft plastics compared to our RX, the real leather appointments (which comes on the Premium plus and luxury trims) are amongst the nicest in the segment, and the door panels and roof have nicer materials overall as well. I think that since Lexus is heading towards a more modern and simplistic design for their interiors, lacking the typical bright adornments and wood in the previous models it might seem cheaper in photos and videos, however in actuality I feel like it has gotten nicer overall.
@Talisayin yep i heard about this issue thought it be fixed by now im just gonna avoid this drive train all together and go for a rx450h+ instead good job you still got that warranty seems like this is a common issue on a rx500h
@ we love it otherwise but yes they better fix it. And correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the 450h plug in hybrid is the only RX still made in Japan through and through
Fwd architecture dictates the smaller more compact powertrain unfortunately. The RX could theoretically go on the TNGA-L rwd platform like the LS and LC, but that means going up market on the RX when the RX already has the value and economical proposition over their German counter parts. Well equipped RX350h premium plus models are around 60k starting, whereas base models of the GLE and X5 SUVs that are similarly equipped are north of 10k in MSRP. Without the same efficiency. Lexus’ strategy with their bread and butter models like the RX, ES, and NX has always undercut the competition in terms of similar quality products for far less price.
No way anyone buys this over a BMW. You get better performance and handling and technology. However, you can’t deny how nice this looks and the quality it has. Guess it is what you prefer out of your car
I’d buy it over the BMW. The BMW similarly equipped is a little less than 8k more expensive. Obviously the BMW has far more cool and technologically luxurious options than the Lexus however that push the BMW further out in terms of pricing. Speaking from my experience of driving both, the RX500h is 80% of the driving experience of the Xdrive40i with the M sport package I drove in terms of performance. It cornered flat, has a punchy and torque motor, and the transmission was relatively fast. It won’t beat the BMWs B58 motor and overall handling prowess due to its fwd architecture, but it makes it all up in ride. The RX500h is a better ride imo with better sound insulation. I think it’ll boil down to what someone is looking for. The RX is a well rounded offering but excels at comfort and efficiency. The BMW has the opulence and performance to back up its way more expensive price tag if you so choose those options. Regardless, the RX500h has been selling exceptionally well considering every nearby dealer here in ATL just can’t keep RX500hs in stock so I suppose the people have spoken.

@@huythai1222 I agree. A family member has the 23 RX350, and it feels premium.
It's for small women
Yeah it is. Big men needs a semi truck😂
Have they sorted out the gearbox issues of the rx500h?
I’m calling our dealer today. Pretty great to be stuck in 1st gear for an extra 5 seconds when you’re trying to accelerate and merge onto the highway
@Talisayin yep i heard about this issue thought it be fixed by now im just gonna avoid this drive train all together and go for a rx450h+ instead good job you still got that warranty seems like this is a common issue on a rx500h
@ we love it otherwise but yes they better fix it. And correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the 450h plug in hybrid is the only RX still made in Japan through and through
@Talisayin yes i think both are made in japan for the uk market.. how about your rx500h ?
@ for here in the US ours was made in Canada brother
Rather get a Porsche cayan at that price! Nothing in that lexus stands out!😢
i would get a BMW at that price
Lexus reliabity is unmatch my man and that counts alot for most people so i'd choose lexus over Bmw any day.
not for $72,000
This car should've gotten the 3.4tt
Turbo I4 hybrid is miles better than any V6. No need for a v6.
@@naveenthemachine yes you do bud, overall build quality, powertrain and chassis refinement, and technologies are superior in the Lexus. No automaker toyota/lexus or not, are dumb enough to undercut and cannibalize their own products without proper differentiation between their models.
@@huythai1222Naveen is the reason Nissan is “on the chopping block” 😂😂. Take the Honda Civic and Acura Integra, huge difference in ride comfort and cabin noise, Civic measured at 60db while the Integra was at 54. But Naveen is gonna ignore that and come after Toyota cuz they sell better than Honda 😂😂
@@baoanprounited he literally tried to tell me the RAV4 is just as nice with better efficiency for half the cost lol. I suppose only two of those things are true so they cancel out. 😅
@ on Facebook he tried to convince people that Tesla is a luxury car brand, and got destroyed with no mercy 😂
Ohhh man! It's hot! Why am I so poor? 😢
No! Prices are insane.
Awesome
The Toyota Venza has the same swoop towards the rear tire.
I had a 08 sienna. Those were small seats.. tell me they are a lot bigger than those seats..
mediocre 2024 year Luxury Brand midsize SUV for a high price 👍
Crown Platinum for 20k less all day every day.
I’d rather get 2 Toyota Rav 4’s and tow the 2nd one behind the 1st one. 10 seats, 2 spare wheels, 4 zone AC, no need to hear the kids. Same price as this car. 😂😂
I don't like this Lexus at all, bland styling interior as well exterior. Doesn't look exclusive at all. Lexus needs focus, asap.....and EV'S
That’s too much money this car 😢
72k for a four cylinder, Lexus just commit a crime 😂
😂. This turbo I4 hybrid is a freaking 360+HP and 400+ lb-ft performance SUV . Its miles better than any V6 lol
You do realized that Volvo XC90 also has 4 cylinder powertrain only (no 6 cylinder or v8 engines) as well, right?
lexus (and toyota in general) is late to the downsizing game.
Coz bmw n merc have been guilty of this since the early 2010s… thats more than 10 years ago btw😂
Very reasonable pricing for such a well build premium car......this car costs 136.000 euro in the Netherlands......almost twice the Usa price.....so don't complain 😊
@@arsyadidris6349downsizing European style???? 3 cilinder turbo engines? Unreliable, only run 100.000km, extreme oil consumption. Etc, no thanks, Toyota hybrid engines are best, period.
HEY
Good looking but no way! They should’ve kept the reliable v6!
Lexus needs a redesign on the RX.
Agreed. They’re so far behind to the point where they can redesign this 100K times over and over and still fall way behind the current gen competitors
@@naveenthemachinewhat are you talking about? It looks great
