100% agree. I also think RX 500h is the best RX thus far. I keep on hearing some owners have issues with transmissions, but not sure how many folks have this problem. Overall it is very enjoyable car to drive and experience.
The review is so flawless and Lexus exclusive and dedicated to RX trims. I love how he did stick to one and only topic not going on other cars. I do love the RX 350. But it is not available in France. The only trim available here is RX 350h and RX450h
Nice review i am looking for either rx450h+ but leaning more towards the rx500h however my main concern regarding the 500h is the amount of transmission failures im readimg about so early in the life of the vehicle .. is there a update on 2025 models for this issue
Thanks for sharing. You know what, I keep on hearing from actual owners about plugin hybrids being more of a pain than a convenience. I think plugins should reach about 70-100 miles of usable electric range to make them really viable options, otherwise it only works well in very specific scenarios.
Agree. I did mention this in one of my Lexus reviews on the twisty roads. It would certainly help improve cornering and offer more confidence, but Lexus is not trying to chase X5 or Cayenne, they cater to the audience that wants luxury/comfort over performance.
Honestly didn’t spend too much time with steering controls but did find a bit annoying how they use some arrows to move through menu on head up display. Also curious if the owners find it annoying after some time as well or kind of get used to it
@@spoiler9112 im not sure this is what i want to know further, i been reading up on lexus owner forums the rx500h has a lot of reported cases in where the transmission failed am waiting to hear updates on 2025 models before i decide to go for it.just type in rx500h transmission on google search.. till then i am holding out..
Im not sure just google rx500h transmission loads of failed transmission at low to nearly new mileage rx.. will waot for 2025 model for future update till then holding out ..
I own a 2016 Lexus RX450h and it is the worst driving experience I've ever had. Slow, lumbering, leans in corners, pitch under acceleration, drive under braking. It feels like a boat and is sickening to drive. Test drove the RX500h and it wasn't any better. Trying to figure out which RX model drives the best is like trying to figure out which sexually transmitted disease is the best. Ha! They're all terrible.
Thanks for your comment Very unique perspective 😀. I think base RX350 Turbo might feel better as it’s lighter and it has a simpler suspension setup than RX 500h making it slightly firmer. Otherwise maybe you should look in to BMW X5. Their B58 inline 6 engines are pretty reliable and X5 feels more engaging even though it’s pretty soft car as well
@@100miledrive Thankfully, I'm in the process of dumping my RX. Hopefully, I'll have replaced it with a Cybertruck by the end of the year. I've switched over to Teslas with a Model S Long Range and Model Y Performance. Just sold my Q50 Hybrid and picking up a new Model 3 Performance on Friday. The RXh will be the last to go when my Cybertruck gets here! Then no more hybrids! Only stupid fast, self driving EVs or pure gasoline, manual transmission sports cars and hot hatches from here on out!
Lexus lost me with that generation. I bought a slightly used BMW x5 loaded and the driving experience is not comparable to a lexus, the X5 is so superior at all level and CR rates it at the top spot and very reliable. Bye bye lexus with your lawntractor engines
Thanks for the feedback. Interestingly enough Lexus having many engine/transmission issues looks like with their latest gen cars, especially new twin-turbo V6 engines and transmission in RX 500h. I think they are going through the phase of making turbo engines reliable, something that BMW already went through. So, we will see from consumer reports, it might be that BMW at least for now will have more reliable engines and transmission :)
Thanks for the comment. Well, with adjusted inflation all cars are kind of overpriced today. Gone are the days when every dealer would fight for the client and make crazy deals. Especially Lexus is almost on par with European rivals. Let me know what cars you want me to review. I definetely liked new Honda CRV Hybrid that I reviewed, very pleasant driving experience
This is exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks for this great explanation.
Awesome. Glad you found value in this comparison.
buy the 500h, its decent on gas, and quick, and torquey.. drives nice, quiet, comfy, nice car. I like it better than last gen, which I owned..
We took delivery of a 500h in July. Best SUV we’ve owned, absolutely love it.

Great review! Torque converter transmissions definitely ups the driving experience vs CVT! I have a 2015 RX350 and still love it :)
thanks for your feedback. Yep traditional transmissions are much nicer.
Plug in is pain in the butt. This is the reason I am giving up Tesla Y for Lexus RX 500 Sports F 3

Why doesn't Lexus but bigger tire and brake packages as options? Would look great with some 275/40 tires and Brembo brakes.

Rx500h transmission seems to be made of chocolate how and why so many failing 🤔
How are they failing and how prevalent is it?

Thanks for pointing that out. I was thinking about that, but haven't explored this option as i was OK with it.

Exactly. That’s precisely what I tell my shareholders after our corporate year end is complete when we review our P&L earnings statement.
