You’ve done it again Trent. I’ve seen other videos trying to explain perspective and vanishing point but none come close to this one for clarity and ease of understanding. Thanks again.
Thanks for the theory. I don't have much background in graphic art and found the perspective theory nice and informative. It's a simple thing, but I wouldn't have had a clue to draw extra lines that meet at the vanishing point or mark the center with crossing lines.
Thanks for the insight! I actually had a whole 10 minute sequence I recorded to explain the X/center point, but I decided to cut it for time. I'll be sure to go over it in more detail when I get to my perspective series.
Any helpful Tips how I get a for e. g. Logo on stairs? Adobe hast a tool named vanishing point to get this done. I hope, that there is also a way in Affinity...
Hi @Dschingels, thanks for the question! I don't recall exactly how the vanishing point tool works in Adobe. In Affinity, I'd try the Perspective Warp tool for what you describe. You'll need to warp the side bounds of your object so they point in the direction of the vanishing point. Hope this helps! - Trent
This was a great explanation BUT when I placed a photo image and chose Warp -> Perspective, when moved the corner circles to fit the perspective guides it actually trimmed the photo rather then just "warp" the image. It seems Designer doesn't warp images. So, I take it your logo was vector art?
Hi @homemovies751, yes, it was a vector which I should have specified. If you have Affinity Photo, that has Live Filters that can be used to warp images. For some reason, they have not added that feature to Designer. Hope this helps!
Hi @homemovies751, I was recently reminded by a viewer than you CAN do Perspective Warp on an image in Affinity Designer. It is kind of hidden, but possible. You need to go to Pixel Persona and then choose Layer -> New Live Filter layer -> Perspective. Hope this helps!
@@TechnicallyTrent Wow. Yes, it's "kind of hidden" LOL. I've never before ventured to the Pixel Personna (not sure why I would but now have a reason). Thanks for following up on this (maybe Canva will put perspective in Photo 2).

It boggles the mind why this amazing tutorial doesn't have more views.... widely shared.
Thanks, @earthtaurus5515!
Another solid tutorial, thank you.
Thank you....I really like your videos. You explain things really well and you go slow enough for me to follow.
Thanks so much!
Great explanation, Thank you!
Great video and explanation. This was a big help for me. I would love for you to do a video explaining the other warp features. Thanks!!!
Thanks for the suggestion, Kathleen. I'll put it on my to-do list!

Useful to know. Thanks and more of the same please!
I thought it all was good thanks. A big lesson would be great

Great. Thanks!
Good morning. But this is vanish point of photoshop ,it’s just that photoshop does it automatically
Yes, some things that Photoshop does automatically we need to do manually in Affinity Photo.
