I'm glad you are promoting CHP. I only wish I had more money to invest in other CT70's...
Great video, I'm actually rebuilding my father's 1970 ct70h thats only been family owned since 1970. Hasn't run for 25 years but its coming together, might end up looking into that exhaust, thanks!
Hopefully you're keeping the original manual CT70H engine in it?
Yes sir, just updating a few essentials and powder coating the frame. Trying to use all the original parts I can.
@@Darrin_Wyatt Awesome! A good restore on a CT70H is on my list of projects to do...
Kitaco also makes a stock style exhaust. Its called kitaco old school if i'm correct. The stock heatsheald fits and the diameter is at least twice the size of original. But some people think its too loud (especially on 125cc and up), some think its great.
The Chinese exhaust should fit all mounting points, when installed on a stock engine. The problem of the shock mount hole being too far forward is usually a result of mounting the exhaust on a bike with an aftermarket engine, which is longer, due to the longer stroke.
So do you also cut the slot wider when fitting on your setups?
@@eastcoastish No, like you, I don’t like the look of cutting out the slot. I cut the whole dog-leg bracket off of the exhaust and reweld it back on, in a spot that bolts right up.
Is there an exhaust gasket that fits into the opening in the engine?
I know they make them/ available online on a few CT70 sites.
Yes. You can get them off Amazon. All of the minis use the same size.
Thanks for the fast response!
I ordered the CHP performance exhaust. Problem is the exhaust guard doesn’t line up with the front and back exhaust down tube.
The down tube is behind the exhaust guard but it sticks up behind and higher than guard.
Any alignment thoughts?
Are there any more silent options with OEM look?
Not that I'm aware of. TboltUSA has a "quiet exhaust" that I've tried but it doesn't look OEM.
Have you ever thought about installing an electric starter on your test bike? Just to keep from always having to kick start it when testing out different products. Just wondering!
I don't think there's a way to add an electric starter to the original engine, some of the aftermarket engines have it as an option, but it adds a lot of weight and wiring; this bike starts so easily I don't think it would be worth it even if I could.
Would this fit/work on a YX140cc?
Will this exhaust work with a lifan 125? Thanks.
Probably not, I believe the length of the Lifan is a bit longer so the exhaust mounting point won't mount correctly to the shock mount.
How much do you want for the orange bike, I live in Atlanta Georgia 👉☝️
Probably not for sale yet, but hit me up: kent@eastcoastish.com
