    Full race leathers had me on stitches 😂. I have laid down the ruckus going 15mph with no gear on so I know where the comments come from.

    I'm going to get me a set of those feeler guages. Will make checking the valve lash way easier. Thanks again for another awesome video. And wearing a helmet.

      Turns out I was lean... And I wasn't able to get too much out of the stock carb so will be getting the 20mm carb on soon.

    I doubt you will read my post a year after the upload. Still, I take the time to share my experience.
    I can also confirm that your upload is very informative for the newbies!
    After a new piston and cylinder and piston rings, Amsoil break in sae30 works superior, then the 10w30 motorcycle oil or the Dominator range. The engines love it!
    regards

    I purchased this same kit from CHP. Going to do the install this weekend, Thank you for this video, it will help. I would love to see what you think about the upgrade.

    Another great vid. I ordered this kit from T Bolt about 6 months ago and its still sitting on the shelf. Ugh.
    This may be just the motivation I need to get on it! Real life gets in the way sometimes.
    I will be really curious and eager to see your findings on the stock vs. upgraded carb. I really want to keep the stock look of the bike. It is an all original survivor in fantastic shape. (Nephew blew the motor...didnt shift gears... riding while I was out of town)
    Feel free to give as much detail as possible :)
    Enjoy your Sunday!

    I put the 88 kit on one of my ct 70s and felt no difference....I later read that is a common result as you need to do more in conjunction with the cylinder kit...such as better valves and cam

    how was the performance over stock with the stock carb?

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  3 роки тому +1

      When just comparing carbs, the 20mm had a slightly smoother throttle curve, but the stock one performed well. When comparing the big bore kit to the stock 72cc kit, the 88cc kit definitely had more low-end.

    You failed to mention that the valves need to be adjusted when the engine is cold and also when the engine is on the compression stroke . If you are adjusting them on the exhaust stroke you are wasting your time. they will not be adjusted correctly, this is true for any 4 stroke engine

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  3 роки тому

      Great point on making sure the engine is cold for adjusting the valve lash. Regarding compression vs exhaust stroke, if the carrot is lined up with the timing mark on the cam gear and the T mark is lined up with the arrow on the flywheel, you are set up correctly to adjust the valves.

      @@jeffferguson899 anything specific I should be looking for? Again the CT70 has markings on the case, cam gear and flywheel to ensure you're on the correct stroke for adjusting the valves.

      It definitely provided more bottom end, I need to adjust my gearing a tooth or two in the back to see what top speed I can get out of it.
