This is a beautiful bike. I'm 49 years old, and my first actual motorcycle i owned was the Honda CT70, when I was 10 years old. I have looked over the years to find a decent one to restore, but yours by far is the most interesting mods I've seen. Love what you did to it. It does bring back memories.
May I offer my congratulations on the amount of work that went on to make this bike what it is. Everything is so meticulously designed and made. The overall lines are so pleasant and the finish and combination of frame, wheels, brakes, dampers and engine and exhaust are really elegant. Again Congratulations.
You are a freaking artist. I had a CT 70 when I was a kid back in the 1970's. It was so fun to ride on the streets, pasture and bayou trails. Would have rather owned a Yamaha 80 dirt bike but Dad could not afford it. Your bike is beautifully put together. Fantastic job. Enjoy it!
I have a ct70 with a Lifan 140 engine. It will do 55 with the gps on my phone proving the speed. Any faster wouldn't be safe. The fact that this guy has bigger/better tires is awesome! Bet it maneuvers very nice! Beautiful bike!! Very very jealous over here.
You built a one off beast! It's a true work of art! To fully appreciate it, consider making a video of a side by side comparison of a stock bike vs. yours. I'm blown away by your imagination and craftsmanship!
Amazing work and bike! I have a CT70 clone myself, and am amazed at what an 'attention magnet' this bike is! Mine is a Lifan 110 GY-3, and it has a 110cc motor in it. It's only capable of 50 MPH, but riding the local state park twisties, where the speed limit is 35 to 40, is a breeze! I stopped at the local nature center parking lot today, and I couldn't get out of there with all the questions and comments I was getting from people.
Sweet litttle monster, but it is the exhaust sound that has me most liking this bike... that is a nice little rumble -- so much more pleasant to hear than many of these other small bikes on the road today.
Ken, I been looking everywhere to get a set of bars like this for a bike I just restored. I know you Custom made them, but may have to go with a Bmx Bar or something. they are Sharp. Beautiful Job on this Bike. One of the best custom mods I have seen. Keep coming back to it.
Just did some fine tuning and re-jetting, now tops out a little over 70 mph, without straining. It's still for sale. I need to build something else. Ken
***** Don't have it listed on any site, just here. asking $3,600.00 Since it appeared on the Moto Channel I've added 12" one piece tubeless rims (polished) and tubeless Michelin road race tires. Ken
Really nice bike my dad had one when he was a little kid it was blue though but we bought one yesterday and we are restoring one i will try to post a video of it when its done nice bike!
LMAO, wonderful job my friend. I learn to ride one of these bad boys...well nowhere's NEAR and bad as this seriously bad bad boy but you get my meaning. They were wonderful bikes and damn near impossible to kill. It's wonderful to see so much love go into a bygone era of bike. Cheers :)
Well first I thought this is small engine bike, but when I watched about few seconds, man this is cool bike great mods, got some muscle and good sound, great job :)
Such a nice bike. If i ever see u cruising huntington i'll defjnitrly have yo say hi. And btw the moto channel is the beat UA-cam channel ever!!!!! Four thumbs up
My fast days are in the past, I just putt putt now, I have my fast flat track and factory race days locked in memory, lots of fun, and glad to still be on the north side of the grass, clean scooter tho, shouldn't take long to get hits on it.
oneshot1984 It now has one-piece polished 12" aluminum rims, with big and little road-race tires. It's way too fast for it's size (70+mph) and I don't know how to ride slow....the wife said sell it. Like you my road race days are behind me.
Nice looking piece of work you built their Ken! I wanted to mention that since I seen the head pipe ..... I think you need to richen the jetting some. Should not be blue..... tells me that it is running lean! Best of Luck in all of your endeavors.
Awesome build! I built a 77 trail with cr 80 front end and shocks in rear from a xl, mid 80s, my motor was a z50 bored to 92. Great bike though brother
What a fantastic job you did on that otherwise little kid's toy and basically a piece of junk. Took a little toy and made it into a small motorcycle. Extending the wheel base was an excellent idea. Wouldn't hurt to extend it a little more if you plan to run at speeds of upward of 60 mph.
I have to day your bike is very customer. I also have to say its getting to be so custom its not what it once was. Never the less, its really cool and you are having a wonderful time with it and trays what matters.
He should use bullet connectors with double crimps. One for the insulation, one for the wire. Those cheap red/blue/yello nylon connectors eventually break from the vibration. That's why you need to also crimp the insulation to limit flexing and the pinch on the copper.
U have some Mad Skills Brother. Incredible work. I keep coming back to this video. Best small bike Mod I seen on here and I seen everyone. Believe me !!!!!!!
Who makes the 160cc motor? I have a 140cc Lifan that I ported and polished the head; I ported the intake and exhaust from 26mm to 28mm and also p&p the carb manifold neck to match, plus shaved the head .006mm for compression. I did some custom work to the flywheel casing so I could fit a 19t front sprocket to spin a 31t rear sprocket. It's cruises at 56-57mph comfortably without the worry of blowing it up.. it does 64mph little more punched out. Forward facing mikuni vm22 26mm carburetor and running a 115 main jet. Stretched 5 inches in the rear and customized fully besides the front forks and triple trees which is next so I can put a set of the 12inch rims on it..
Seeing this way late.... Extremely impressed. You're a person of many talents. Great job. Great look. Awesome. Do you still have the bike? Made any modifications since filming this video?
That thing is so cool! The build quality is amazing. It's a good thing you're not selling the parts to convert a CT70 or ST90. I'd be even more broke. I'm curious what the 160 engine is off of. Anyone know?
Awesome, awesome, awesome!! I recently restored a ct70 then sold it and got a z125 pro. I would love a front fender like that for my current bike, any chance you would be interested in fabricating a front fender for me? My tires are 12" with inverted forks also.
Working with a Honda CT70 1971 right now... I may do something like this. Lifan 150cc or maybe Piranha 160cc. Too many guys on here saying "its a Dax" and "you cant get 160cc out of that motor" ... Its a Honda CT70 like mine, a lot of different motors can bolt-in to that frame but you can buy three modern Chinese motors making twice the power for the price of working with ONE 1971 Honda CT70 Motor.. hot rodding a vintage 1970s motor isn't the way to go. Honda invented this frame going way back into the late 1960s...the Chinese are still making it to this day.
Gloomshadow100 Bwahhahahah U think China crap is better Honestly not hating but if u told me 10 China engines or 1 Honda id take the Honda any day Honda lasts forever. Never had a problem with Honda
I like this bike but I am wondering 2 things 1 can this, be made in a 190cc and 2 will it also handle off road use also as well as regular use and can a small trail or be attached for hauling both game and some hunting equipment?
Beautiful bike, I'm building '73 myself. Im using some KTM forks and just machined spacers for the triple clamps. Its still a ways off, but I'm getting there, thanks for the inspiration. How hard is the carbon fiber to do yourself?
The ct70 looks fabulous, but...That billet shifter was it really made by you?, I've seen that exact Piranha offset aluminum billet shifter for sale on Ebay. Looks exactly the same. And i see Mugen on the engine??

I am not a bike person but I sure appreciate the work that went into this bike. Very nice job, it almost makes me want to get into bikes. Great job.
Nice to see one of these Hondas. A friend of mine had one when we were kids. Great little bikes. Awesome job.
Enjoy it!
You can see that he have put a lot of effort in this one, the result is definitely amazing! one if the best custom bikes i've seen!
Had a Honda CT70 KO as a kid. Nice to see it all "Growed" up. Bang up engineering

The CT70 was my 1st bike at 12 years old. I loved that bike :)
Wow ...Beautiful..superb craftsman. You had the big bikes and took on a little Honda charmer..Nice really nice!
Ken, I been looking everywhere to get a set of bars like this for a bike I just restored. I know you Custom made them, but may have to go with a Bmx Bar or something. they are Sharp. Beautiful Job on this Bike. One of the best custom mods I have seen. Keep coming back to it.
The shifting sound is so interesting and cool!
rebuilding a 1974 honda ct70 at the moment and later a 1979 honda ct70...love the mods you've done
Ken

Bad-A
Extra points for the oil cooler which is what all 4 stroke Japanese bikes needed back in the 1970s but hardly ever came with.
U have some Mad Skills Brother. Incredible work.
I keep coming back to this video. Best small bike Mod I seen on here and I seen everyone.
Believe me !!!!!!!
awesome bike! great job Mr. Crites! ^_^
Really nice. Wonder if a 125cc would be the best 2 stroke to mate with the Honda.
