What a nice clip! I had to smile so much... this is typical Carol Burnett that she immediately asks Richard if he gives the young lady a kiss.... and he just does it. (I don't think any superstar would do that these days). It just goes to show how endearing and charming Richard is. That must have been an unforgettable moment for the young woman. I just would have been interested to know if Carol went into it again afterwards.... 😁 Carol is so great... And just too funny. 1972... I was just 1 year old... Greetings from Germany to all who love the Carpenters!
This was so long ago. Most people in that audience are probably no longer living. I think that Carol Brunette and Richard Carpenter and Nanette Fabray and Ken Berry are still alive
I'm sure those girls from that High School are still alive. They would have been a few years younger than Richard, and he's now 77. That's not THAT old these days...
Richard was so dreamy. Such a cute and clever guy.
He was pretty cute during this period of their career.

The owner of this channel last video was 3 Years ago just came here and the content was memorable
Was this actually aired to the public in 1972, or an outtake?
It aired as part of the show. I remember seeing it when I watched it back in 1972.
I hope Carol eventually adds the two episodes that The Carpenters appeared on in her "Lost Episodes" box set.
I miss Richard's sister-Karen-what a wonderful singer-too bad she had those eating disorders and bad personal problems
