I rebuilt the motor on mine already but it wouldn't move in gear so I got new clutch plates and and adjusted the clutch and it's still doing the same thing. The only thing I can think is that it's in the rear differential. Do you have any advice for me
Yes. The rear differentials are a weak point. The pinion or ring gears can strip out. I have a video where we rebuild one, check it out. I would pull your apart and see how it looks.
@@YamahaBros thanks so much yama bros. I've got quite a bit of time into making it look like it's 1986 again and was super frustrated when I changed the clutch plates and it still wouldn't move. I almost lit it on fire right then but I hung it up for a little bit and a couple months later I stumbled upon one of your vids. I'll have to let you know what I find and show you a pic of the restoration.
Keep it up boys, looking good so far!
Where is your shop so I can visit?
Whats the link to the rebuild kit

Where did you get parts to rebuild it. Was told we can't get them.
They have a tooe end rebuild kit available, and lots of the oem parts are still available as well. What are you looking for?
@YamahaBros the rear ring and pinion needs to be rebuilt. Had a local shop charge me $600 and didn't fix it. Said parts were not available.
Where did you find the torque specs for the top end?
Hand tight and another 1/8 of a turn is good enough.
Yall skipped the one part i need to see the top cam chain guide install.
Sorry Man! I think we have more details in this video

Do you know how to chage the rear end fluid are does it use the engine oil?
Depends on the year, some are just greased on the ring and pinion gears. Later models can run 80/90 gear oil
I think it's just greased thanks
